The prep site doesn't mention FLAC 24-bit at all, it mentions FLAC, BUT NOT FLAC 24-bit.

FLAC 24 bits is lossless obviously. It's just a bit more inflated than normal lossless.

I got a question I think asking what is the minimum bit-rate allowed on What.CD.
Their prep site says 192kbps, but they allow V2 VBR which has a bitrate of 190.

VBR varies so even if it gets targetted at a specific bitrate sometimes it ends up as slightly less. VBR is also quite efficient memorywise which is why WCD probably also lets it pass.

192kbps is the lowest constant bitrate allowed, regardless of format (or well, i guess you technically could have flac, but ignore this). the variable bitrate formats could be lower and be allowed. if the question was phrased like that, they probably wanted you to discuss this, rather than just name a number.

Speaking as the owner of a synology. Look into other options first. If all you want it to do is be a media center, great, it does the job perfectly. But trying to run other software on it behind the scenes of the WebUI is a fucking nightmare and you have to jump through hoops all the fucking time to make it work. As of some patches ago OpenVPN is completely broken too if you want to use cert authentication.
