on wcd it's possible but having a seedbox and setting up autodl-irssi makes things so much easier. so it's either you invest time in choosing your downloads carefully and be on that shit or set up autodl-irssi and sit back and let the buffer build. on a tracker like ptp or ahd it's a lot less necessary to have a seedbox because of bonus points, which also means people snatch more torrents (meaning more upload for you). obviously on ratioless trackers there's less of a need for a seedbox. porn trackers are probably the easiest to survive on without a seedbox.

The source for the encode has to come from somewhere.
Some people want 7.1 surround or lossless audio which is generally only included in remuxes and full BD's.
A LOT of movies don't compress well, especially older titles with quite a lot of grain. In these cases the only good option is the remux or a 720p encode at half the bitrate.

Any US bytesized (or other plex enabled seedbox) users here? I live in the US and have serious issues streaming off my box. Occasionally speeds will pick up on the weekends but otherwise the only thing I can stream are cartoons because they're relatively little data.
What's weird is that sometimes I can upload incredibly fast to the box using cuteftp, like over 100mb/s so obviously there's some decent pipes between me and the server.

No, all are outlook and gmails, outlook let me create 3 before having to reset my modem and get a new IP.
