just download them to different locations and organize shit manually, most torrent clients can keep up with shit if you rename/move stuff while the torrent client is running

What client can manage 40,000 torrents?
>>

None of them can. There are no torrent clients written that scale that high up without shitting themselves.

rtorrent comes closest (I've seen people claim 10k), followed by transmisison(~5k), then a power gap, then probably utorrent.

>>51379399
It's weird actually, first 800 I did all at once and went fine but then I threw 100 more and it's throwing a tantrum. Also ruTorrent is failing to show trackers on the left now unless I click on each individual torrent so it recognises them.
>>
>>51379453
write a script fa.m to move torrents from a folder to your rtorrent watch folder one by one but with a 1 minute delay between each one. I started 500 torrents like this on my shitty server
>>
>>51380193
It's working now. ruTorrent is being frustrating and a little messed up though. The tracker category is now blank, it won't load the information. Guess it got overloaded.
>>
>>51378611
I've seen rtorrent do 18k.

Note: rtorrent, NOT rutorrent. rutorrent struggles with 3k.

>>51379453

I used watch folder to add them originally. Like I said they're all in now, working 100% fine on rTorrent's end. ruTorrent is just throwing a tantrum that it has too many to deal with now or something.

>A5
>BTN recruits from AwesomeHD, bibliotik, PTP, and what.cd. AHD/bib/PTP threads are in the POWER USER INVITE FORUM, the WCD thread is in the ELITE FORUM. All of them require SIX MONTH OLD ACCOUNTS. THere is NO EXCEPTION to this, period. There is no orhwe way to get into BTN unless you personally know a staff member, and if you do you're already in BTN. So let's recap: If you want to get into BTN you need to be PU on AHD, bibliotik, and PTP or be elite on WCD. And you need to WAIT SIX MONTHS. So take the fucking interview.
>>
>>51381268
Perhaps you need comprehension lessons. That is talking about getting INTO BTN from several trackers AHD included. It is not talking about getting into AHD.
>>
>>51381285

>>

Alright dudes, here's the deal.

I've got a server running transmission-daemon with a little over a thousand torrents and growing and it's starting to lag from all the torrents. Is rTorrent really better for thousands of torrents and if so is there any easy way to migrate all my torrents from transmission-daemon to rTorrent while preserving stuff like state and seed limits, and are there any good rTorrent clients for Windows?

w-what?

rtorrent handles 10k easily. Rutorrent, it's graphical client, only does around 2000k well.

You should just use rtorrent/rtorrentextended/pyroscope or multiple instances of transmission

it's just a limit of the program, it's threading and how it grabs info from rtorrent, it's just doesn't scale well enough to handle that many.

I know of requests but frankly I'm massively outclassed there. My only chance there is to find shit online and by the time I have it and have verified it's good someone else will have done it first.
>>
>>51385950
>faster

Autosnatching with a seedbox.
>>
>>51385983
Tried doing that but my success rate for seeding back over 1.0 wasn't too hot. Some were really lucky and went 2.0 but a lot didn't even make it to 1.0. These were 2015 releases in FLAC/V0 too. Overall wasn't really working.
>>
>>51386020
And you were definitely using a properly configured deluge for that?
>>
>>51386030
rtorrent with autodl-irssi
>>
>>51385950
your best is to grab all the freeleech and seed. You won't get much buffer. Roughly 3-4 Gb a week (thats on the downside)
>>
>>51386038
Deluge is for autosnatching as it's more aggressive in the inital swarm. Move them to rtorrent after 48 hours if you'd like to permaseed them.

Or just:

>>
>>51386074
>Deluge is for autosnatching as it's more aggressive in the inital swarm.
Interesting. Why?
>Move them to rtorrent after 48 hours if you'd like to permaseed them.
Might have to do this set up just because it makes met wet.
>>
>>51386087
>Interesting. Why?

Literally because it is. I'm not going to source or explain any further as we had the conversation to death in the early days of /ptg/ and the only reason people still ask is because I forget to add torrent clients to the OP.
>>
>>51386116
>I forget to add torrent clients to the OP.
You should, would be useful.

Do you know if feral will do something weird if I select to install deluge? I only ask because the software install page has radio buttons, and while unlikely I can totally see it uninstalling rtorrent to put deluge on.
>>
>>51386087
it lies. It tells the swarm that it has pieces which it doesnt have causing them to connect to it. I guess its kinda of a white lie
>>
>>51386134
No no it works fine I've used feral before.
>>
>>51386143
>it lies. It tells the swarm that it has pieces which it doesnt have causing them to connect to it. I guess its kinda of a white lie
I'm surprised that's allowed.
>>
>>51386146
Ok good. Should I just point my autodl-irssi set up to Deluge watch folders instead? Or does it have its own thing I should use.
>>
>>51386175
well its not like it causes the peers to download invalid data. Its more like sorry fa.m; I dont have that piece maybe you want this one instead
>>
>>51386175

It doesn't report false data to the tracker or have any otherwise adverse effects.
You should also use ltconfig for maximum /pyramid/, for the settings to use you should quickly flick through the last 30 pages of the 'best seedbox provider' thread on what.cd where phixion, sigkill and other bigBoys are discussing it.
>>
>>51386229
Should I be changing any of the default deluge settings or just ltconfig ones?

Really struggling on wcd. Downloaded stuff and literally noone else has downloaded it after me. Transcoded some flacs and noone has downloaded them. Auto dl some 2015 flacs and SSD deluge autists steal all the buffer. Guess il have to wait for the next freeleech or whatever.

Its not stealing the buffer, any more than someone who runs faster in a competition steals the prize.

Run faster.
>>
>>51385950

The way to get upload on WCD was to downloads loads during the site FL. The next way was to grab the staff pics within minutes of them being announced.

All that's left now is scraps.

lads I uploaded a 100% FLAC with .cue to WCD but it appears below the 320 mp3 one, why doesn't it appear on top as it happens with any of the other torrents?

I really don't want to ask in the forum.

>>51387227
TTN is not titans of tv. TTN is the exact clone of BTN, with not much in terms of uploads. Everything including rules and theme is same. They have no creativity. Dont bother joining.

Why the fuck is the autoadd plugin not showing up in deluge? I tick it and I cannot find it ANYWHERE.

was there by chance two different versions, one for python 2.6 and one for 2.7?
>>
>>51387435
No, only one entry displayed in the list and I looked it up, it was discontinued as a 3rd party addon and was packaged with deluge since 1.3 so there's nothing to install.

I have python 2.7.

However this did pop up when I first ticked it.

TTN is not a new tracker either. They used to be called RaidThe.Net, and before that DiffuseThe.Net. The tracker was dead as it gets, only bots uploading torrents. Staff AWOL. TTN is a waste of time.

you're probably trying to install a plugin that doesn't work with 2.7.

Well that would be pretty retarded. All I did was click install deluge from feral's interface and it set this up by default seemingly available. If it doesn't work that's retarded.

I forget exactly, but it was covered in a previous thread. I think it is something like a combination of DownloadThemAll, a script, and the freetorrents=1 search query. Maybe it checks them every 15 minutes or something.

Really just lurking here is pretty good, or use the RSS feed of the news/blog.

Personally I would take the interview ASAP, the older you account is the better.
>>
>>51387675
That's what I thought, I will surely login every day but I'm afraid of inactivity/no-use rules (my first serious private tracker)
>>
>>51387682
What.CD regularly runs scripts to disable users who have not used their accounts for four (4) months. There is no functionality to "park" an account; all that is needed to avoid being disabled for inactivity is to browse one page while logged in to the site. Users who cannot or choose not to do this are disabled automatically. If being away for more than four months is unavoidable, you must either become a Power User (or higher) or donate, as either one of these will make you immune to inactivity disabling.

A new invitee that confirms his or her account will have one week to log in for the first time before that account is disabled for inactivity.
>>
>>51387682
It's not that strict, you don't have to login daily. Just put it on your startpage and login every few weeks or so. Read the rules for the exact requirements.

But join now and add any freeleech to start getting some buffer for when you do use it, and check here later this month and early next month for the staff picks if there are any (very likely will be)
>>
>>51387706
>Read the rules for the exact requirements.
>>51387700
>>
>>51387700
No, I'm not talking about that inactivity of not logging in but not actual use of downloading.

Doesn't matter.
>>
>>51387645
Probably not.

Any 2015 flacs will automatically have 10 seedbox seeders. So you will never make ratio off them unless like another 50 people download after you so thats out the window.

Ive had some luck grabbing some stuff that doesnt have any auto snatchers and the initial uploader has a slow connection. Then when someone else downloads at least for the first one you get most the upload.

In general its a bit of a curry tracker where people are encouraged to upload anything and everything which dilutes both the overall quality of content and the available upload.

I'm thinking of getting into Waffles, TehConnection, AnimeBytes and Bibliotik.
Which of these are hard to maintain a ratio on?
Also, do they prune you for inactivity?
>>
So do btn/ahd/ptp (or whatever the good ones are) have any quality control? Some of the trackers i'm on now have like 12 torrents for one movie/show varying in quality, or they're really similar. I mean what is the purpose of that?
>>
>>51388123
Yes they have intense quality control.

If you would like an example just ask me to look for something.
>>
>>51388144
Nah i trust you. Thanks. I was just a little demotivated seeing what's basically piratebay/KAT but with more seeders.
>>

>>
>>51388180
Which tracker are you talking about, out of interest?

It takes a little bit of learning to work out what makes a good encode and which sources don't compress well but in general:

AHD internal = good
HDBit's internal = good
And BTN's P2P encodes and caps usually come from HDBits or are internal so = good.

>>51388190
yes.
>>
>>51388120
Yes
>>
Are private trackers real? Or is this an elaborate plan by the authorities to eventually lock us up forever, one day?

Just think about it. All of the private trackers store every single bit of data.
Peer IPs, peer upload, peer download, snatchlist, seeding list, total uploaded, total downloaded, top users by amount seeding, top users by data uploaded, top users by data downloaded, every single forum post, username history, etc

Will I eventually get c u c k e d one day? All the prolific uploaders, encoders, VIPs, and staff who aren't part of the plan will eventually be raided by the authorities and all of us will have to serve jail time.

Are private trackers a top secret elaborate joint long-term operation by all of our countries' government? Do some of the staff, or the SysOps secretly work for the government?
