Each day dedicated to a bodypart. Something like

Day 1:Quads, hamstrings, calves
Day 2:Back, traps
Day 3:Chest, abs
Day 4:Shoulders
Day 5:Triceps, biceps, forearms

I think they're fun because you get 1-1.5 hours to punish the living shit out of a body part, but only hitting a muscle once a week is not as effective as hitting it twice.

Ss and all the strength routines you see thrown around /fit/ wont give you as good hypertrophy gains (in the short term) but as time goes on you would probably get better gains in the end focusing on strength.

Its all choice really, you can get good gains on both types of routine.

Not really. For most people your muscles only really grow for like 2ish days after a workout so having like a 5day split isnt a good idea. Also, nost of your gains come from the first few sets. If you start your day benching 2pl8s and after 2 hours you can hardly bench the bar you're just wasting time.

Brosplits are for people that look like monsters because they need longer to really fatigue a muscle. Also for people on roids. Usualy thats the same demographic

also, people seem to not realize this, literally every fucking routine will make you ripped (with nutrition etc.) as long as you keep increasing your weight

how FAST you get gains though, is a whole fucking another story and why SS is so good for starters - progressive overload is literally the point of the whole program

Pretty much all stars who require any sort of body transformation for movies are probably on PEDs. No, their bodies aren't beyond the natty limit, but it makes things much easier and faster, so if you're working on a 100mil dollar production, why wouldn't you spare some change for some roids and a team of experts to monitor them and keep you as healthy as possible?

That said, I wouldn't take any PED accusation even remotely seriously unless it's coming from someone with multiple year experience in the gym or a respective sport and with results/numbers to back that experience up. Total body routines= less time under tension with each muscle, more calories burned due to more compound movements, more CNS recruitment for total body.

Split routines- greater time under tension for each muscle, less overall CNS activation, more hypertrophy/isolation based. Better for advanced.

Everyone should start learning how to use their total body together with compound lifts, after that slowly progressing to splitting each body group more and more.

For example after total body do upper Lower, after that do 3 day split, then after that a 5 day split.

As your body adapts each muscle requires greater work load and strain to force adaptation. Doing total body doesn't allow for you to focus on enough volume per group.

My advanced split is:

Quads/calves:
Squats 1x12 1x10 2x6
Leg extensions: 4x12
Hack squats: 4x10
Seated calf raises: 4x50
Standing calf raises: 4x25

Chest:
Bench press 1x20 1x15 1x12 2x6-8

Laying DB flys. I like to do the laying ones on the incline though and cable ones I like to do it with my body at a slight decline so that I'm hitting two separate angles.

I would put shoulders and legs together take Friday and Sunday off and just do your traps, forearms, and dreads in back days. Those are pretty much the same muscles being used anyway.

So your back day would be more like

Deadlift
Horizontal pull
Vertical pull
Transverse pull (adduction/abduction)
Biceps
And you can rinse and repeat.

I did that when I did PPL.
My pull days were

Deadlifts
Barbell rows
Pull ups
Reverse flys
Preacher curls
Cable rows
Cable pull downs
Cable reverse flies
Hammer curls

You can always do PPL and have a day separated in between deadlifts and squats.

Pull push legs.

That way push is in between your deadlift and squats day and a rest day after legs before doing deadlifts again.

If that's still too much you can do something like

From 392lbs to 198lbs. 6'4. I ONLY have ever done a full body routine and still do. Splits do not contain enough volume that I'm used to and I find training any muscle with 20+ sets and 4 different exercises one day out of the weak to be retarded and sub-optimal for anyone natural.

Literally almost every routine will work, unless you're a competitive weightlifter/powerlifter that requires more scientific ways to build strength. The difference between routines is time. A natty will benefit much more from a 3/4 day routine than a brosplit, but brosplits will still work. Your diet is realy the most important factor, routine just determines speed and maybe strength to muscle gain ratio.
