Yeah, most of the content should be in the flash so it's all anticipation for now. Honestly, I've been enjoying the regular panels since the pause ended, the Jade update was enjoyable, even with the god awful Davepeta. It's a shame there won't be more of them before the end, given that there's numerous other little plot lines and character stories that would benefit from some form of conclusion.

Karkat died trying to save Terezi during Game Over, where most of the cast died. Terezi then gave John, who had gained retcon powers, instructions to do something in the past to give them all another chance. One of those was to leave a message at her home saying "you don't need him", people still argue to whom that might refer.
Eventually, John knocked out Vriska, thus preventing her from getting killed by Terezi. This in turn lead to Vriska being alive during the meteor journey, and Terezi spending more time with her, not bothering with Karkat, Dave or Gamzee. It is heavily implied but not outright confirmed that DaveKat might have gotten a thing in that time.
The Terezi from before the retcon then died and wandered the dreambubbles, eventually reuniting with (Vriska), also from the pre retcon line, apparently either reestablishing moireliagiane (which is what their post retcon selves are also in) or red rom, it wasn't all that clear.
So, by the looks it was a potentially heavy nuke.

I think I can see where your coming from, having her act in a way similar to how she intended for when she interacted with Tavros, but actually pulling it off. A somewhat friendly rival who teaches you to deal with someone who tries to win in the cheapest ways possible, it'd certainly fit with Caliborne as an actual antagonist given his cheap scheme to try and win in the chess game with Calliope.
However, I think the problem with that comes back to her toolkit, her character is loaded with over the top abilities and characteristics that just let her pull the most ridiculous wins out of her arse. I'm just not sure how you'd have her being one upped without making her opponent an even more insufferable, over the top character. Her ego is pretty integral to her character, it's weird when a character's main trait is squashed as was the case with (Vriska) and arguable Karkat at present.

This would also just result in her character revolving around doing things for attention, and fuck characters like that.
I agree she could be used way better than she presently is, however I don't think those are the ways to do it without having her still play a primary role. Perhaps there's a way to have her in a primary role, but make it less prominent? That's my big issue with her post-retcon at least.

Diversity doesn't bother me, and I think it uses the mspa format fine. I prefer it to regular comic formats.
The actual Homestuck and Steven Universe influences are the only thing that I really mind (those aliens are just crystal gems crossed with homestuck trolls), although when I first started reading, I thought it would be a preachy, boring 'uwu alien moms' thing, and it really wasn't that.
No Homestuck rip off can be as bad as Olympus Overdrive, anyway.

This is a mistake to evaluate a work in regard to elements that aren't part of it.

It is, because it means the author potentially doesn't really care about the story, but about audience appeal first. That can work well if it's a niche audience the author's interest overlaps with to begin with, but at the same time, it means that the author might be only a fairweather member that will change direction once they lose interest or find an audience more profitable.
I will give you the second point.

In either way, when someone don't care about the qualaity, it's not the pandering itself that is an issue, it's the fact that the writer didn't care about the quality. Pandering might be an indicator, but not a proof.
Like I said, in itself, there is nothing wrong with pandering, hence why all the people who complain about a character being sexy are morons.

I'd say Undertale's music is on par with the music actually used in Homestuck. Boss music like Hopes and Dreams is comparable in energy to Umbral Ultimatum, Black, and Eternity Served Cold, for example.
It's important to keep in mind that Undertale was created by a talented musician with a specific vision and that as a game it has music playing constantly, so the soundtrack was given very well-skilled attention and care to maintain Toby's artistic vision. For Homestuck, music is a reader-contributed garnish that Hussie doesn't have expertise in to start.
