As someone who used to work in a print shop, any place worth their salt will redo a botched job.
A playmat like on linoleum or vinyl? Figure out what dimensions you want in inches and ask for that as part of the commission. Most digital artists work at a minimum of 300 dpi anyway, which is the standard for print. Those wide format machines that do the printing on linoleum/vinyl/vellum are pretty damn precise.
