We really haven't had a ton of exposure to Weirdmageddon yet, or at least not as much as we could have. Mabel's episode was kinda like a vacation from the outside world, where maybe there could have been weird things happening all over.

Terribly underwhelming. Bill is a lousy character and a crappy final boss. The last episode was not insightful or clever.
It makes it obvious that it's a kid show despite all the morbid shit. Another thing is that the demons reveal was such a let down. Should've been a whole world of creatures instead of a bunch of Jackie Chan Adventure knockoffs.

Mabel is a deeply pathological character. She's effectively designed one-noted, and writers deliberately arrest her development, so they keep validating her at every step and have Dipper take fall for her so they wouldn't have to develop her in any capacity.

It's basically everything good and bad about the show put out in a way so obvious even the most fanatical of fans can see it.
Which isn't a terrible thing. I'm just noticing a lot of disillusionment from fans just now understanding that the series isn't really about in-depth character development or dark, intricate plots with moral implications behind your every action.
It's a mystery-adventure with a lot of jokes and that's great as it is.

This did not need to be a two and a half hour long story. Whittle it down to two or three episodes and it would be tighter if not better. Plus we would get two more fun episodes instead of endless finale.
