The most controversial part of this show is that Hank decides Bobby's future. Not just on one occasion, but on almost every episode, and even in the ending it is implied that Bobby is to become a Meat inspector or some shit instead of the stand-up comic that he wanted to become.
My mom did similar stuff when I was a kid too - It wasn't uncommon for her to intervene in anything she saw as a "social suicide" (through hiding clothes, suggesting I find new friends to sit with at lunch, etc) but it wasn't too effective because weird kids are gonna be weird, even if their socially adept parents try to save them from it. I was a theater/band kid, my mom was a cheerleader... we used to not relate much, but over time found things we genuinely had in common much like Bobby and Hank did with the meat inspecting thing. I think it was a good, realistic ending.

This has the clunkiest fucking dialogue I've ever read in anything.
The art is beautiful but it's hard to appreciate it when every character talks like they're in a bad historical romance novel. It's complete crap.
Why is it so well regarded?
It's a comic that's "big". Lots of characters, more characters on a single page than other comics have in an entire run. Death, lots of death, huge scenes of death, damage and destruction. It's history-making, the course of the universe is irrevocably changed forever.
For casuals, this is the same as being "good". It's the same reason that people buy events. Quality doesn't matter if you can convince a casual that a comic is "big" and/or "important".

By this point you can see how much shit Jessica has been through, she's wearing the marks on her skin while pregnant, and he just wants to throw her back to the wolves. The next page Luke asks if he looked after her, implying he asked Danny to do so, and as far as I know he never gets called on his shit.
He suspects her of being complicit, dumdum.
At least out of context, he seems like he's being reasonable in this scene.
