The writers don't know how to handle those characters, and while they claim that those characters are deep and troubled, that is a pure lie.
The plot is interesting, but it's ruined by fixing each problem with the power of friendship.
I don't even care about the LGBT motifs because they are irrelevant to the plot.

KFP1 I feel was a better movie about a person trying to be the thing they wanted despite how the world viewed them than Zootopia. Judy was a great cop from the get go, where as Po fucking sucked and spent the entire movie working up to the point where he finally succeeded.
