Hit and miss, just like everything else that came from that expermental era.
Art and scenery were amazing; plots and characters were subpar.

It made me feel, a lot.
I fucking loved the new characters, and Dory was again the greatest thing ever.
It honestly was a really great movie, but someone has to stop the mouse, this is too much.

Yes. It was good. Actually way better than I expected it to be because I had completely lost faith in Pixar sequels, but this one felt like they really tried.

To be fair, he's very rude towards Jerry, but from Rick's point of view he's this patriarch without any power so he just wants him to shut up and start contributing more than just bullshit
Rick calls everyone out, like when Rick calls Summer and Morty out on "getting" a reference he made up and laughing

He doesn't want to get mad at his daughter for choosing someone so stupid and weak, so instead he takes it out on Jerry.

And yet this is what most of us remember from it.
As time has gone on, animation has become increasingly "for kids" as well as content deemed acceptable "for kids" become more and more censored
So, it's a combinations of adults enjoying cartoons less and and adults being more over protective of what their kids see, really it all has to do with the separation of "kid" and "adult"
