When I was in college, the pizza place I worked for was "known" locally for their homemade soups, "homemade" meant commercial sized cans of Progresso from Sysco.

I believed the "eww" meme until I finally tried it. Slice it thin, fry it 'til you like it. Sometimes I do it thin and really crispy, it's like cheap bacon. Sometimes it's thicker and browned and floppy, stack a few slices on a bun, so american.

These are pretty good after you add 50% more sodium. I personally prefer to defile them with beef/chicken stock.
For canned beans these are the best that I've tried, you have wash the bean gunk off but they work and have a good texture. It's best to cook them from dry but sometimes it's not feasable.

I prefer Campbell's, because it has a "unique" flavor while Progresso feels like a sad imitation of homemade soup. One is a slightly childish snack, the other is a lonely bachelor's dinner.
