the character wears a long coat with a capellete on top, rather than a duster (like it appears you are wearing. This means you don't get the snazzy double-collar going on.
Next, your waistcoat/vest should be shut with straps and buckles (which is easy enough to do, since you can put them over the vest buttons, making them purely cosmetic)
You also need that long diagonal belt across the chest, the vambraces, and greaves, which will by far be the hardest for you.
But don't forget things like the chain across the capelette and the pocketwatch.
Lastly, the hat is a tricorn with the back torn out. I would HIGHLY advise against doing that to a legit hat and instead try to make it out of felt or something.

Get the fucking vest buckles, tailor your vest to the correct length. make a fucking hat, add on proper fucking collars, make some fucking gauntlets with foam and layering cutouts. pitch all that cloth shit in the same cloth dye of jet black. use two black belts to make the sling style belt he has. don't forget the other fucking cross body belt. buy a fucking large hollow scrolly pocket watch on amazon.

On the left is 13 year old (i think) me as Sailor Jupiter for halloween. Right is 18 me as Morrigan Aensland for South Texas Comic Con. Sorry for the shitty pose in the Morrigan cosplay. It was the only one i could do with the way i attached the wings.
I don't have such dramatic full body comparations but I wanted to share this one.
Left one is from 2013 when I didn't like styling wigs and just wore then straight from the store. Right one is same wig but styled and cut. I also improved my make-up and started wearing lenses.

What helped a lot was making the wig a bit more layered, it was too straight and heavy looking, which ended up looking unflattering. You can make layers by it using normal scissors or these ones on my pic.
Don't be afraid to cut A LOT, I pretty much cut half of the original wig. Make the hair shorter on top and longer as you work your way to the bottom. Use a wig head.
Put the wig on and take your time on the bangs, cutting it to flatter your face. There's a lot of tutorials on youtube on how to cut wig bangs, they are a lot of help! Again, layering is the key.

Having layers helps a lot with styling, you just have to mess the hair a bit and apply hairspray to secure everything in place. You can also use a bit of hair wax (gatsby, for example) on your hand to make it look messy.
To avoid the flat look you just have run your hand through the wig a bit from time to time.
