Gingham isn't super versatile in that people generally associate the pattern with summertime, but since you're looking at the black colorway you might be able to get away with it during fall or winter too. Try not to coordinate it with any other super noticeable geometric patterns like tartan or check, go for a variety of textures in solid colors instead (like knit, ruffles, lace, etc).

Compared to the other major brands, Meta doesn't pay nearly as much attention to construction details and most of their prints aren't even all that great. Well theres two ways they can go about it if thats the case, and its a huge pain in the ass which explains the price tag. They would have to forge a blade that looks something like a meat cleaver and then stamp/cut away the metal until they get a rough shape of what it is, then grind it down to where they want it. It would be a huge fucking endeavor hand forging something like that, and they are both fastidious and absolutely mad. Smoothing and grinding the inside of the butterfly would drive me bonkers

I don't own any Meta, but I've seen it up close and I will concede that their craftsmanship is pretty good. Not a big fan of the trim and lace they use though, but that's more personal preference I think.
Either way though, at the price point that Meta's selling at, I don't think that their construction makes up for their poor design. I can get a similar level of construction from brands like VM or MM and still get dresses that are actually pretty.

meta's velveteen things are some of the most solidly made brand pieces i've ever owned, and the velveteen is just a stunning quality
i have a really old set and the velveteen on the bustier from it is a perfect match for that of another pretty old jetj skirt that i own, they absolutely do not cheap out on that front

So I just got AP's Magic Princess set and I'm a little disappointed and perplexed by the bow. It is very flat an awkward . It has no wires inside and is sewn in a way that it doesn't rotate. It sits super awkwardly on my head just like in these photos. It is even awkward in the AP instagram photo (bottom left). Is there any way I can make it look good? Just... please do your laundry. Don't rewear dirty clothes, even if they don't smell dirty to you, other people can smell them. Sorry, I'm not trying to talk down to you, just.... with a question like that I thought I should cover the basics as well.
Now, if this is your second or third meetup and you're showing up in the same coord, most girls will be understanding that you're new and may not have gotten a second coord put together yet. Yes, they will think you're poor or new, but it's nothing too harmful, and you have future meetups to impress them with new coords anyway.
If this isn't your first few meetups and your comm has seen you in other clothes, that's equally fine, too. Just say to them, "I couldn't think of anything else to wear. Oh well". Most girls will let that slide, and they already know you have other lolita clothes anyway. I will have to say though, it seems easier to change up a few things like a different brooch or hairpin, or a different hairdo, just to have it look different.
The thing to keep in mind is that most people don't like to see the same outfit shoved in their faces over and over. So if you're going to repeat coords, don't post it everywhere. If you spam it all over your facebook groups, lacebook, daily lolita and everywhere else, then wear the same coord to meetups a couple of times, people are going to bitch behind your back just because they're tired of seeing the same coord over and over. So keep it on the downlow, quietly wear your outfit to your meetups and don't brag about your outfit, no matter how proud you are of this one coord.
Either way, if you're planning on buying more lolita clothes, not intending to attend every single meetup in only one single coord, then it's not really a problem. Things will sort themselves out once you show up to future meets in a different coord later on anyway.
