Pardon me if this gets asked all the time. Looking at judo and BJJ schools near me. As a rank beginner, how do I know if a place is gud? I'd like to learn both stand-up and ground work at whichever school I go to--is that worth worrying about or should I just shut up and find an approved place?

UChicago judo is a branch of Tohkon dojo, i think Uchicago judo is only for uni students while Tohkon is for regular civilians, Either way that dojo is beastly and as a good presence here in the midwest
Good mix of higher belts, black belts and chill people that will smoke you standing or newaza. They produced a few pan am and world champs if i remember correctly even if you're not serious about competition can't go wrong with the
