Gear, since its different construction and use of more sturdy materials, wears hard. Very hard, harder than the rest of your clothes. Now more expensive outdoorsman gear tends to wear harder than cheaper gear, but at a certain point you're getting diminishing returns. There are similarly designed jackets made by equally reputable companies which will last at least as long as the TAD hoodie for half or less. Buying anything from Triple Aught Design is more akin to /fa/ than airsoft. You're paying as much for the brand as anything else.
$230 is actually pretty standard for real-steel plate carrier systems, roughly equivalent to lower-end Mayflower or Blue Force Gear carriers, and that's got nothing to do with LBT or Crye carrier systems which can go past $400. And even then, if you're looking for a particular fit, even paying the highest end kit can be justified. Not quite as much with clothing. TAD is a fashion company, which is fine, but don't try to justify fashion as anything more than what it is: brand whoring and snobbishness.

It's a sidearm so I wouldn't fuck with the internals so that whatever magical pixie dust was put into falls out. It's range and precision already puts standard primaries to shame. The NICD batteries TM includes have a very definite shelf life, and they don't last long. You get one shot for every milli-amp hour, as opposed to two or three shots (depending on gun gearbox efficiency, draw rating, etc.) per milli-amp hour on lipos or NIMH batteries.
The mod is very simple, and there's tons of documentation online for every single TM AEP and their lipo mod.
Lastly, barrel length doesn't correlate directly to accuracy in airsoft. What causes causes projectiles to be accurate? The thing imparts their spin. For firearms, a longer barrel would give more accuracy since their barrels actually have rifling. Airsoft guns do not. The thing that imparts spin to the bb projectile is the bucking and hop up.

Kitting out MACs is a real thing.
They're among the "cheaper" transferable machineguns in the US, so besides ricing them out with various grips and stocks to make them easier to handle, a common thing to do is to get a "Slowfire Upper" to mount on it, with a heavier bolt and more room for it to travel, as well as a place to put a forward grip/handguard, making it less of a tiny bullet-hose and more of a proper SMG that's easy to handle and shoot.
Less of a "tactical operator" thing, and more of a "because it's fun" kind of thing.
Pic related is a Cobray M-11/9 with a Lage upper and kitted out with parts, it radically improves the weapon in all aspects, including making it fun. I wish you could get shit like this as GBBs

Hey guys, I've had no luck finding a spare, so I've been wondering about buying the whole fucking package.
I mean the LAM included in the Tokyo Marui Mk23 NBB.
Is this a good idea? It's a pretty expensive replica, and I already have a KWA Mk23 (it shoots a bit over the field limit, but sidearms are allowed to shoot a little hotter).
There are also some affordable 3D printed rails for Mk23, maybe I should try that?
Also does anybody know if it's possible to get parts from Ra-tech directly? Most shops run out of their Mk23 custom parts.

The Marui LAM is pretty bad, from a performance perspective you would be far better off getting a rail adapter and using a standard pistol light.
The whole Marui MK23 package is pretty nice though, the suppressor and the NBB system combine to produce a very quiet pistol. The trigger pull is heavy.

Yeah, I heard pre-cocking is useful on it, which honestly makes it kind of cool, especially paired with durability and efficiency of the NBB.
I've been running GBB pistols for years now and I think I would like to try something new for a change, even if it's "unrealistic".
I want the LAM for the shape mostly, that MGS1 look, ya know, I also run a /Diamond Dog/ /MSF/ kit, although I took more liberties than the other guy because I had a couple of teammates that didn't wish to go full Boss.
I'm a little worried about mags, heard they are leaky, just like KWA ones, but I guess I can fix that by now. Also is the model discontinued or not? I'm not sure, is it produced still in small batches? I'd probably get it from WGC shop or somewhere.

I'm thinking about getting all the Ra-tech parts for my KWA one and some of those HPA nozzles to make it my primary for CQB/pistol games. It would be glorious with the LAM.
Hard trigger pull is also a plus, some bonus challenge for those airshittan drills.
All in all, it's worth it? Should I get TM mags or are the knock-offs as good? I can probably find some of them over here, in my country, too.

Hey guys, was having some issues with my KWA MP7.
Sometimes it will fire no problem but then about halfway through the mag it continues to cycle but the rounds don't fly out of the barrel, instead they just roll out. I've used multiple hopup buckings and multiple loading nozzles and everything seems to have the same issue. Any ideas on what this could be?

All meming aside though, those are really cool kits. From purely aesthetic perspective, I think knee pads could fit into the first one well. I also like it how it has that modern chestrig + belt kit look, while yet using older ALICE gear instead of the usual Molle + Multicam combo. I don't know why, it just hits home, combining modern ideas and concepts with older stuff, in a sort of a make-do fashion.
On the other one, I don't really know what to say. I've never liked multicam, not to mention AR-15s. But I think that's fairly well pulled off. On a special note, I like the mismatched gloves. But other than that, I don't really know what to say, besides that it looks good.
