Is it just me or is Arc V a huge mess?
I just finished that episode where there is this stupid duel against the gear hunting hounds team where people keep jumping into the duel until it's 5v3. The hunting dog guys don't even get any turns, because apparently when you jump into a duel it's always your turn, no matter what.
And it's always multiple duels at the same time, sometimes with pretty long breaks where we don't get to see anything from a particular duel. And sometimes they just decide to skip a particular duel, or skip to the finishing play.
Then this multiple dimension crap. Such a dumb concept. Let's have multiple different characters look similar to each other, have similar names, and then let's have every character be confused about who's actually who, tons of stupid miscommunication we can use as a plot device!
Duels in general also seem very different. Every duel ends with a quadrupel-overlay-pendulum-fusion combination summon for some dumb overpowered monster. Nobody normal-summons anything important ever. All decks play out about the same.

Cast is too bloated. I feel that the cameos weren't originally planned. But somewhere down the road they decided to add Jack and Crow which turned out to be a popular decision amongst fans so not only did they have the Synchro characters they originally planned like Yugo, Rin, Sergei, Jean and Shinji. But they had Jack and Crow with Crow's kids as well. Yugioh is a franchise that can't deal with cast bloat too well because of how it is structured so tons of characters will suffer.

Synchro can be split roughly into 6 Segments.
Segment 1: Post Battle Royale
Yuya fights Reiji and then his Mother in preparation to go to Synchro. Once there, they meet Crow and then get captured. Yugo does retard things.
Segment 2: Jail
Yuya and the fuccbois are in Jail. They meet ENJOY. Metal Gear Shun initiates and they break out, only to be captured once again.
Segment 3: Friendship Cup Part 1
The slow duels of the Friendship Cup. Jack starts off by obliterating Yuya. The rest of the duels get underway, from the start until Yuzu gets Yuzu'd
Segment 4: Friendship Cup Part 2
Yuya unlocks Enlightenment Paladin then fucks off for muh yuzu. He meets Sora and is captured. While Shun and Crow Shill, Yuya gets experimented on. Sora saves Yuzu. Selena jobs to Yugo, and is rescued by Reira
Segment 5: Jobelisk Invasion.
Jobelisks Arrive. Yuya kills Crow. Tsukikage is saved by Sora. Yuya goes to assist Reira, HITOSU NIIIIIII happens, Yuzu tries to stop the multiverse ending. She succeeds. Jobelisks fuck off, Sergey kicks the shit out of everyone and leaves with Yuzu
Segment 6: Endgame
Roger sends Sergey to kill Jack and fails. The riots intensify to the point where Security may not be able to contain it. The Lancers play interference and stop the riots. Reiji Finally moves for the first time in 40 episodes and defeats most of security. Yuya fights Jack and wins while the Lancers quell the violent Commons. Akaba Reiji goes off to finally end Roger and rescue Hiragi Yuzu.
With this being said, can we agree that the main problems with Synchro were segments 2, 3 and most of 4? The latter parts have actually been somewhat entertaining, and the pace is much better.
