I'm far from an expert, but a render as we typically use the term is just an image that's had all background stuff removed. No further modifications are made, it's just a very meticulous cropping job. That's not to short-change them though, that shit can be hard to get right.
I don't have a Seraph render on hand, so you'll have to do with the best girl from another show. It was extracted from a scan.
A vector is an image that's been retraced from the ground up in a vector-based image program such as Illustrator or Inkscape. They are often rendered but probably not always. The main benefit of vectors is that they can be fucking huge without any resulting blurriness, because vector images are just mathematical constructs, as opposed to actual formations.

As much as Kagami stated that Shinoa and Shinya are very similar I wouldn't go out of my way to say that Shinoa can't end up with Yuu.
The thing is because she is the main heroine, this is a shounen etc. she has more chances than anyone to end up with Yuu at the end because of her status and her crush. Not to say it will happen, but we should consider this possibility as well.
The other thing is that if we compare Shinoa-Shinya then it's going Mika-Mahiru which they have even more similarities (childhood friends, they had to separate/different status, both turned vampires by the same person, their names start with 'M' etc.). But here Mika is a guy and as many romantic troupes and similarities Kagami uses between Yuu and Mika, I doubt it will happen at the end only because they are both male MCs.
In my opinion I believe at the end Yuu won't end up with anyone if he lives. I think Shinoa will confess but Yuu will turn her down. I can see Shinoa be the head of the Hiiragi family most likely, it suits her.

Kagami made the hetero pairing, the canon one in his previous work, and really Shinoa is very popular with both male and female readers so if she ends up with Yuu I doubt the fujos will care. The Japanese fanbase doesn't react to hetero pairings the same way it happens here. There, as long as they get their moments, hints, merch etc. they are fine.
It's true that the manga doesn't have a romance tag but it didn't prevent Shinoa and Mitsuba to like Yuu or the girls in Guren's squad.
