ASB was the first time JoJo fans got anything Part 3+ in any form of animation so it was huge.
The hype has died down now that we got it, and EoH is pulling the same gimmick twice with even worse gameplay.
When I saw ASB I was fanatic but nothing in EoH drives me towards it 'cause it's the same thing basically, the "story" isn't enough to warrant a purchase.And even then it's still freaking Jotaro who kills Dio.

It makes the fight feel much heavier and serious, Jotaro doesn't feel like being cocky, he's just relieved he finally won such a dangerous battle where he nearly died numerous times.

Are we doing episode ideas?
Valentine double booked and promised to hang out alone with DIO and Diavolo at the same time. Luckily for Valentine he CAN be at two places in the same time, but chaos ensues when their paths cross and the two Valentines try to avoid them noticing, sometimes switching partners and raising suspicions.
Meanwhile Kira finds a stray cat and tries to take care of it, but Pucci and Kars want to pet it and disturb him and Kira's quiet life, prompting Kira to run around trying to escape them.
The conflict culminates as they all fight each other for the cat and Kira throws a bomb, however he misses both Pucci and Kars. Instead the bomb lands on Diavolo and Alt Valentine just as they're about to run into DIO and Valentine, they're both killed and Valentine's ass is saved with DIO unaware of the ordeal.
The episode ends as the rest of the cast makes up and agrees to take care of the cat together, but just then they notice Stray Cat killed it out of jealousy while they were fighting.

Hamon is badass as all hell. Fucking martial arts and shit combined with sun power is a cool idea. Plus, the way they used it to augment other attacks, like with the Ceaser Bubbles and Joseph's Cracker Volley, it had tons of potential.

It does upset me a bit through, that the Spin came back as something of a spiritual alternative to Hamon, and without the limitation of Vampires, and it still got tossed aside quickly.
Am I wrong for saying that I kind of like Part 3's villan of the week formula? Most of the stands are very affective and never feel underpowered. If the stand user is smart they could be very dangerous. (Like Devo knowing that fighting Silver Chariot head on was a death wish so he made a plan to tie Polnareff under the bed so he couldn't see him and thus couldn't attack him.) Of course there're not all like that. Take for example Death 13. Death 13 is really dangerous because it can kill you while you sleep and even if you live through the night you won't remember what happened, so he can just keep attacking you in your sleep till you die. So I got a friend of mine interested in reading Jojo, but he hasn't started yet. I was thinking of getting him All Star Battle for Christmas. I know how it has a lot of spoilers, in-joke, references and stuff that simply wont make sense, but I feel it would be a good way to introduce him to the style of Jojo before he starts reading it.

I don't think people have a real problem with the formula, as 4 is a big favorite and people tend to like 5's fights and they both have the same formula. It's just more that Part 3 was weaker in that regard, which is somewhat forgiveable since Stands were new.

Honestly, I don't think there even was any significant amount of hate on the Stand of the Week format until parts 1 & 2 were animated. It's mostly just people that weren't familiar with the series expecting JoJo's to be like 1 & 2 all the way through, whereas in reality 3 is kinda where the overall pacing and tone is set in stone.
