You vastly overestimate how much money a mangaka makes. YYH was popular, but not THAT popular. Becoming famous for a mangaka is only step 1 to being rich, you have to capitalize on your fame to sell as many copies as you can, as much merch as you can. Pacing is horrendous. Everything before the castle invasion is simply a struggle to get through. NGL in particular is painful. It doesn't help that 95% of the villains completely suck and are boring as shit. Everyone but the Royal Guard is as forgettable as it gets.
Why didn't they call in the Zoldycks or Phantom Troupe to deal with such a situation? They send kids that can barely handle themselves, strong but not that strong hunters (who end up being all but useless), and to top it all off, suicide bomb their leader to finish the job? It makes no sense at all. Then in the next arc, we see yet *another* group of allegedly super strong hunters (Zodiacs) that should have been called in. I try not to think about how silly it all is and just enjoy it, but, it's complete shit writing and Togashi simply not thinking about what he's doing (unlike Yorkshin and Chapter Black arc in YYH, which both destroy CA).

At least he attempted to make Yusuke's transformation in YYH make... some kind of sense, it still didn't really, but at least he did something other than "lol he used all his potential at once so he's really strong now". The overarching theme of the manga is a humanity vs nature dynamic. The world of HxH is extremely violent and uncaring, where physical strength matters above all: the Hunter Exam is so dangerous participants can lose their lives, the only way to enter the Phantom Troupe is by killing another member, Chimera Ants focused on consuming strong organisms to steal their power, etc. The humanity of Gon et al is supposed to counteract this, and most of the major arcs culminate in some kind of confrontation between a nihilistic ‘nature’ and human ethics (Illumi telling Killua he was born to be an assassin, Kurapika choosing his friends over his revenge, Meruem questioning the difference between humans and

They explained why they sent few people in NGL. The reason there are few people in the castle invasion is that it was a suicide mission, if Netero died (like what could have happened when Meruem walked past him and Zeno) everyone would be dead. Also Meruem's death was granted from the beginning, he never could have made it out alive and was never much an actual threat in the grand scheme of things to begin with. So there wasn't a need to put even more lives on the line.

Alright, maybe you don't see Gon and Kite's relationship the way i do but i'll try to explain.
I genuinely can't understand how you overlook the extremely significant role Kite played in Gon’s life. He saved Gon more than once, and in all of them when Gon had almost been completely helpless or clueless or both. This alone is enough to feel infinitely indebted to someone. It was also Kite who told him about Ging and hunters in general. Gon says several times through the series that he wants to see Kite again, and when he does, he stays behind and gets killed because of him. Gon felt it was his fault for being too weak and useless so he absolutely had to right his wrongs and save Kite no matter what.

It's really not thqat versatile though. It's not useless, but in a longer fight or one where the opponent knows his moves, it's not very useful. Besides that, it's just boring as an audience to see a character who has an arsenal of about 3 moves. Losing his nen and regaining it is a perfect way for him to move away from enhancer type and learn some new stuff. As for Killua, he was able to do pretty well against Youpi who is way stronger than him. Of course he didn't kill him or anything, but even stunning someone who is probably the second or third tankiest character next to Meruem and possibly Netero is no small feat.
