Last night at the movie theater I saw the trailer for this.

The whole time I was thinking, this looks like a dubbed anime that I've seen before.
It says that it is based on a Marvel comic of the same name.
But after looking up stuff about the comic it does not seem to have much in common with the movie.
MC in both is Japanese boy genius who builds robot named Baymax.
But after that the comic sounds pretty dark and he teams up with a cast of government agents and superheroes to fight a evil dragon made up of the souls from the atomic bomb attack victims.
In movie MC builds gear that gives his friends powers to help him fight super villain in a kabuki mask.
The writers for both the comic and movie are all Gaijin but the whole production comes off looking like a CGI anime.
What do you think?

What are you asking? If you're asking if western movies have ever stolen the concept of an anime, it has happened tons of times before. Stealth ripped off Macross Plus, The Matrix was heavily inspired (and blatantly copied) Ghost in the Shell, Avatar was heavily inspired by Naruto, etc. And don't even get me started on the dozens of blatant copies of Miyazaki in Disney movies.
They've been rolling out a lot of promo stuff for this film in Japan - inflatables and cardboard standees - so I guess if it is incredibly similar to something Japanese imageboards will have begun ripping into it already.
The only thing I can think of is Medabots and that terrible Korean CGI thing Cubix.
