Why are normalfags so bothered by sad anime (melodrama)?
My main value of an anime is if it can make me cry or not. I don't care if it's "edgy' or deep, and I don't care if the melodrama is great or not, I can get that shit from american tv shows so "melodrama" is something I can only get from Japanese dramas.
I only care if the melodrama is bad or not. Sometimes it's cringeworthy, or pulls you out of the moment, that is legitimate criticisms. But sometimes anons complain that drama anime/manga has "cheap drama" but who the hell cares? If it makes you cry, who cares if it is deep or not, or cheap or not, I just want to get from point A or B.

I LOVE crying. I am a crybaby IRL and I love reading a story that makes me cry.
But I also go through phases when I am feeling very very stressed out the last thing I want to do is get invested in the trauma of another. I want a happy and fluffy story. Normalfags, who have jobs, are much more likely to get that daily stress and anxiety and need a nice happy story to unwind.
