Because I feel to bad when it's just some guy with about 3 low level DDs that he probably wants to level and I'm there trying to get XP to my main fleet which is far more powerful. In cases like that usually cut a few ships to the point where I'm pretty sure I'll win but the opponent will have a chance,

Why do guys try it with a few weak ships and not a full fleet when their only chance of victory would be if they played someone else with an equally weak fleet?
