surprised, but Hattori-kun was one of the few male students Azusa could
talk to normally without using formal language.

Undoubtedly, one of Hattori's merits was that he didn't bother with any
lighthearted phrases like 'I came to see your face' or 'is it alright to come
without an errand".
However, this was also a trait that could undoubtedly be called a little too
straightforward and lacking in tact.
