Consider his opinion, past /a/ was upset by the blatant moe of Gonzo since it never really used blatant fan service, really it was their last attempt at adapting to the times.
Overall I'd say the character designs are interesting, especially with homages to Breath of Fire, but I was in the party that couldn't forgive no Claus involvement.
If you loved the first as much as we do, I'd say enough time has passed to give it a chance. After all we won't have studios any more like it, the transition was needlessly complicated but the politics decent enough.
