I am having a hard time forming this question, but I've been seeing a form of fantasy in japanese media that is very appealing to me.
it's very close to nature, mossy, ancient temples and it depicts a culture that feels a bit prehistoric. is there a name for this kind of world building?
some examples:
Jade Cocoon - Princess Mononoke - some Levels in Demon's Souls & Dark Souls 2 - The Last Guardian, Ico & Shadow of the Colossus (to some extend)
I know it stems from Japanese Natural Religion, but is there a name for the style? are there any other films or TV shows with said theme?
