Check you're not accidentally researching any other special projects at the same time.
Save / reload.
Ensure that everything is fine on the planet where you're doing the gm-ing. Some things you just can't do in contested space, for example.
Cancel the gm project and start it at again.
Put a science ship in orbit of the gm planet and tell it to assist research.

No, it's another one. Some NEET plays as Diablo, the ultimate player on some server, than he get summoned as his own character in another world and steamroll over everything.
The manga had some cute girl but the editing was just awful and the story was stale pretty quickly.
Also, there's Kumo Desu Ga which is pretty fun so far, it uses some Elder Scroll-like experience system where the more the character use a skill, the better it become.
Also the main character is some kind of reincarnated spider. That's the only thing I saw that manages to make a spider cute.

I kinda liked playing Rising Tide that I bought last sale and I wanted to kinda improve it a bit with mods, since I dont like how affinities work at all - mainly, how I end with maxed everything anyway, because useful techs have different affinities experience points.
Sadly, no RT compatible mods that add female sponsors that dont suck (except for one or two that require checking files every time you run the game, because of some bug).
There are two approaches I can pick - either "Awesome Affinities" ( steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=501482168 ) that shifts affinities experience points to outer techs, slow down their growth and add another level of bonuses to make each affinity changing playstyle or "Affinity As Yields" ( steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=414284979 ) that removes exp from techs at all, instead making experience gained only from events and, more importantly, from buildings and improvements you use (mainly, farms and typical "earth-like" improvements giving Purity, generators giving Supremacy and such).
Which one would lead to better outcome, guys?
Personally, I dont understand at all, why devs made tech useful for everyone and general-like tied with affinities and why they mixed techs from different affinities next to each other, so players, who want to focus on one, have to jump across the tech tree like crazy.
Not to mention that Endless Space before it clearly showed that while placing starting point for tech tree at the middle, turning it into tech web, makes early tech selection more important and leads to better planning, everyone ends researching everything in the end game anyway, with differences being most important at early and mid game.
At least they could split the existing tech web in three areas, each tied to certain affinity, with ring of general, common ones around the starting point. This could fix a lot of problems.

For fuck sake, your hate toward this game blinds you. Everybody was telling me before I bought it that Im going to pay for "shitty Civ V mod" and in the end, it turned much better than that. Not SMAC 2, but solid game. Maybe thats because I played RT right away, without playing base game and thus cant say anything about what they added.
The way affinity system works and how it is mostly fluff is my main argument against this game, however, thats why I asked for opinion about possible solution.

I just wonder what is the core problem with how affinities work - is that they are developed by researching techs, spread around the web or that idea is fine and the problem lies in how general techs that everyone need, gives affinity points, instead of only techs specific to certain affinities.

I don't think he's native to either English or Japanese.
Also, for all his faults, he pumped out 220 chapters in months, we got 3+ a day sometimes. He's easily one of the fastest translators I've seen, even if he's obviously using a lot of MTL.

The gameplay is interesting and innovative without being as frustrating as the first game, but I dunno, I just don't like it.
It's slow, a bit frustrating, you spend more time looking for ressources than fighting, and there are still some stuff I can't understand. Like the pressure thing.

Also, yeah, Star Ruler 2 is too unique. I still have trouble figuring the strategy, if I should develop my main planet or develop several planets, if I should bother with that "pressure" thing or not.
