Joking aside, he's just my favorite design. I actually like the LttP and Oracle art right after him. I feel WW and TP pushed too far in either direction where OoT struck a nice manga-esque balance. SS was... I appreciated the intent but felt it fell flat. BotW looks to be right where I've wanted the series since reading through OoT's manual back when I was 13.

Even though he was in my favorite Zelda, I can't bring myself to care that much about the hero of time, the silent protagonist thing just makes most Links feel so lifeless and dull and I don't really like projecting personalities onto blank slates. WW Link seemed a bit more dynamic but that's about it, you have to dig through illustrations to find anything resembling a personality because it rarely ever shows up in-game.It doesn't help that adult OoT Link isn't as cute as the others and he reminds me of this gross-looking kid that was in my high school class.

I would be willing to bet in the official release you start and all you can do is pick stuff up and swing sticks and run, I bet even stuff like cooking and climbing will have to be learned from npcs
At least that's what I hope, botw is god tier right now, but if it wants to be elder god tier there has to be character progression other than heart containers, personally I'm hoping for a lot more rpg elements than any other zelda has had, maybe even a mild skill tree if I can dare to hope, or at least stat upgrades to base damage and armor rating through some kind of items

That's some intense and foreboding atmosphere. Brings me straight back to the days of OoT and MM's dungeons and just how drenched they were in ambience, character and that subtle sense of wrongness. I felt some of it in the trial dungeons too. I like it; it's one of the aspects that's been long-missing from Zelda games for a while.
