Reposting what we may know.
We know that link can probably find a way to sneak into any area of the map early, but we also know that it will be hard without the right tools. Despite being able to pick any direction, this will probably keep us within a normal Zelda narrative the bulk of the time.
We know that Link can pick up food, resources, robot parts, and other junk. We have seen him cook up foods and potions. We have heard rumors about being able to craft devices, so that probably means that some village will have a tinkerer that can combine your found objects and/or repair the weapons you have grown attached to.
You can ride a horse, but horses don't usually climb mountains or fly, so I assume it will be hard to get the horse out of its starting area.
It may or may not be possible to beat Ganon at the beginning. They've said you can find him, but that may not imply that it is possible to beat him. Usually you need some specific weapon to lay a dent on him. Maybe this game will be different, but I slightly doubt it.
Some devices are acquired by completing shrines and using the reward orbs to buy other stuff. The glider cost 4 orbs. This will push completionists to visit every single shrine to barely have enough orbs to buy exactly every available device in the game with no change left over. This is basically par for Zelda.
The Master Sword probably exists. Link will probably find it, and have some NPC tell him that he can't use/pull it unless he completes his hero trials. Red, Green, and Blue pendants to prove your worth as a hero.
The Great Deku Tree lives, somewhere.
If you follow the story, Link will probably eventually come across princess Zelda. It's possible that Ganon already holds her captive.
If this is a resurrected Ganon, then expect a secondary villain to supply monologues. Koume and Kotake are prime suspects for possible Ganon resurrection. If K&K are in the game, possibly expect other Gerudo.
There will be fishing.

We know the Sheikah Slate picks up new abilities from the shrines. We know there are supposed to be at least 100 shrines. It seems doubtful that there are 100 new apps for the Sheikah Slate to download. Maybe a bunch of them are repeats, or are upgrades for abilities you already have. Depends on how you look at it. Ganon was clearly aware that someone was bound to rise up and challenge him. Who's to say he didn't plan everything to happen? Even if Zelda and Link fell for it, Ganon is still the one at greater fault for orchestrating the entire scenario to play out.

NPCs will to you to go here or there, or give you some vague idea what where you're supposed to go and what you're supposed to do. There'll probably be an intended route for you to follow, maybe multiple to allow for a more varied experience, but the game also gives you the leeway to tackle shit in whatever order you want, or skip shit entirely. Well, there's always an ideal or optimal route. It doesn't make any logical sense to go to a dungeon that's miles away from where you are first when you have one that's just next door. So normally, the logical thing to do would be to tackle the closest challenge first. That sort of thing's inevitable no matter what you do. The Shiekah Slate is basically a touch tablet PC that Link can use to summon virtualized items. He can literally spawn holographic bombs that do real damage. Whenever he enters a shrine on the first area, it gives him a new ability on that tablet.

yeah, during the demos they showed you can't fight with bare hands, and you need to use a weapon.
Breath of the Wild is probably one of the only games where releasing a demo like the one playable at E3 could hurt its sales. That demo is an open environment where you could experiment with a lot of the game's mechanics, so you could get tired of the open world before the game actually comes out.
Same thing with Just Cause. It let you do whatever in the huge open world for a limited time, but you could just keep replaying it. It made me not feel the need to buy the game until it first got dirt cheap.

Supposedly, you'll be able to go and slap Ganon's dick right from the start. I disagree, every time they've tried to make a different villain other than Ganon, the game feels lacking.
The franchise is well established on the trinity of the triforce, and those who bear them. It wouldn't feel right to take ganon out.
