I found it difficult to like Katahane because nothing happens in Shirohane, but loads of political intrigue and some sword fighting in Kurohane. I couldn't reconcile the two, and I found Shirohane to be too boring, despite the yuri couple. I didn't find the either of them too interesting.

It's common to feel a bit adrift after finishing a long game you enjoyed, nothing to do with being denied a particular pairing. Many people feel empty after finishing a long VN. We usually get much shorter games in yuri, which don't tend to have so strong an effect.

Since the new megadimension game has now been released i will be giving away two copies of the game which are the large bundles.
To be in the running to win you have to create a piece of art containing girls from the game, this piece of art can be from any artistic medium e.g. visual art, literature, music. Haven't got too far into the game myself, but there was 1 quip wondering if nepgear swung that way but then there has been moments where neptune heard a guys voice and was thinking that the guy was going to be handsome or something. Kind of mixed barrel so far although there hasn't been many characters in the game where im at to actually have yuri moments with, hopefully it picks up later on.

Depends on how much you enjoy the game. If you hate it, definitely not. There's a lot of game between you and the yuri. Personally I really enjoyed it though and I've been meaning to replay it for a while.

I used to avoid it because the summary made me think it's just a slice of life road trip yuri. But when I was bored enough to actually give it a try, it's quite amazing due to the unexpected plot.
You'll need to be pretty patient in the beginning, just relax and immerse in the slice of life portion called Shirohane, enjoying the yuri couple getting to know each other. When the mystery started creeping in, you'll be thrown into a dark, political-heavy plot (Kurohane) unprepared, with many more interesting events and developed characters. The yuri love story in this part was awesome too. My heart wrenched when the people in Shirohane reminiscend about Kurohane history. The tender yuri romance in the remaining part of Shirohane helped me to heal.
I can't guarantee you'll like it, but definitely give it a try. There's a reason why people put time to translate this VN after all. Also, the yuri girls are totally separated from the het couple and the het doesn't hog screentime.

They're very long games, so if you aren't interested in the gameplay, have a problem with the linearity compared to the other FF's, you might have to force yourself to get through it.
Yuri-wise, Fang/Vanille are as gay as you can get without a straight up confession and I believe end up living together in the very end.
If you have goggles, while Serah has a fiance, sometimes it feels like she's in love with her sister more than Snow in the second and third games. Fang also openly flirts with Lightning on occasion since she's such a dyke, so there's that too.

Truth be told, I actually just started another playthrough, because I had the dual impulse of "I want to play as a hot chick stabbing shit with a spear" and "me want yuri."
You gotta understand that while Vanille is introduced right in the opening hours, Fang doesn't join up as playable until quite a ways in, and then you gotta go through some more stuff before they reunite.
It's definitely one of those "how much are you willing to tolerate for what you want" kind of games.
It kills me that of all the Final Fantasies that could be yuri-friendly, it had to be XIII.
You know what would be great? If someone uploaded a longplay of FFXIII but edited out all the tedious fighting and running around.

If you count turn-based battles as strategy, Winter Wolves RPGs could be for you. So far there's three: Planet Stronghold, Loren the Amazon Princess and Tales of Aravorn: Seasons of the Wolf. Planet Stronghold has a sequel but it's a card game so that might not count.

Look, it's buttons secondhand on a console and you can just pirate it on a PC. Play it for an hour or two and if you're not feeling it just watch the cutscenes online. Personally I enjoyed the storyline enough to not be overly bothered by the linearity and adored the gameplay, though I'm willing to admit it takes a retardedly long time to open up and allow you to play properly.
If you're this on the fence about it though, I'd say just youtube the yuri.

I always saw the fish as some sort of mentor/guardian, it sucks CH decided to pander to the otaku with forced het ships. Really, outside of a few teasing scenes (which are not even initiated by the fish himself), the fish is nice, one of the best male characters in Neptunia (which is not hard since most of them suck). Aside the fish, I only like Copypaste. Now the ninja robot is complete garbage. Thank goodness Uni doesn't like him back and Geki Blanc had the Unigear confession scene.

Sorry if you have already started work on something but, obviously because this is a yuri board putting some yuri into the work will not be necessary but will earn you extra points per se, also by request i have a turned the date back to the 12th, so if you were going to buy the game anyway and didn't win you still have enough time to buy it while it is discounted.

There's language selection in the PC version so you can have Japanese or English audio. But the CG movies for these two languages aren't the same because lip sync is different, and you end up having to download two versions of every CG movie. Since this is Final Fantasy we're talking about, that adds up to ridiculous amount of GB fast.

Honestly, I haven't even bought a Nintendo game new in at least 4 years, they're just too fucking expensive. Even secondhand the games I want are still quite expensive. I've had a 3DS just sitting in a drawer for a few years now, whereas Microsoft and Sony have made a fortune out of me because they actually put things on sale, especially DDL.

As a game? The 3 route thing is kinda questionable, but each game is roughly the same length as the previous FE. If you're playing them all, you'll see quite a few reused maps, but there's usually something different. Conquest has great gameplay, REvalations has decent, Borthright has meh.
As a yuri game? The lesbian option is only on 2 of the three games and prevents you from getting a kid. Soleil is kinda weird in her personality/marraige options, but you don't need to marry her off unlike the first gens.
There's also a pretty well put together gay hack that introduces a fuckton of gay marriages and allows gay kids.
I played through them with the hack and had a great time.

There's a single yuri pairing possible compared to roughly 400 possible het pairings.
Having a full yuri option in a mainstream Japanese game is already a massive step forward, credit where credit is due, and hopefully in 10 years we'll recognise Fire Emblem: Fates as the opening of the floodgates for /u/s. But right now all we have on o/u/r hands is a game that throws /u/s a bone while at the same time making baffling and sometimes downright /u/-unfriendly decisions.

I get that you don't like this series, but FE was more or less popular with SRPG fans way before Fates was released.
It's not a "yuri strategy game" the original poster requested. It's "a strategy game with some yuri in it", and playing it for those characters alone is like playing, say, Rogue Legacy for an off chance the game will generate you a female character with "Gay" trait.

Eh,that's pretty wrong too really, if you had to pick one thing only that set FE apart from other SRPGs it's a limited character-roster + permadeath. Of course, the latter is basically gone now that you can just opt out of it, which really sucks. I'm not actually against it because 'muh casuals' - it doesn't really affect my enjoyment since I just play normal anyway - but because the key design-decisions that makes FE unique game-play-wise absolutely do not hold up when you DON'T enforce perma-death. Both Awakening and Fates had huge issues with wildly swinging difficulty and some excessively trivial missions and the retarded highest difficulty levels that have nothing in common with what made the older games tough.
All your units having a name and personality in general is also a selling-point, and supports would be a part of that. But only or even main thing is hardly true. I've played all FE's except 1 - 3 and 11 multiple times and never gave a shit about the supports for example - the gameplay was what drew me in from the start.

Shit, I knew about the genre similarity but I thought the artists were supposed to be different despite the art looking similar. I looked up Chris on danbooru and the artist tagged was called vioka, but for the Sakura games all the research I did was finding the artist's deviantart (I know, big mistake to go there) profile, called wacana.
Speaking of similar artwork, Nurse Love Addiction's is most similar to Ooshima Tomo's, imo. Someone else must have made that connection already, right?
