Omae, I have no time for your moral dilemmas, I'm trying to make some Nuyen here.
If I can stroke my oh-so-altruistic ego while doing it, even better. But if I have to geek the sweet innocent little daughter of the corp bigshot to send a message from a special someone with a lotta cash to spare? Guess what - Lonestar is going to be looking for a child killer.
Simple as that.

What's the point of heroism if nobody sees it? It's why LA is the best place for 'runners in the world! Regular income from media deals, cheap equipment from advertising tie ins, being invited to all the best parties... It's the fucking life, man.

And you get all sorts of cool shit. I'm doing a promo for Ares and netting myself a prototype electrolaser. Just gotta pose and flash the logo to the camera a couple of times a run, no biggy.

Break into the biz in LA, and you'll have girls of every shape and size lining up to get your attention. They might be as shallow as a puddle, but when you get bored of one you can just move on to the next. And it's equally true of the guys, for ladies or mens men.

Then again, a romance with a teammate is great for trid views. The drama inherent in it really hooks in an audience. And if you can set up a love triangle, well, you might as well be printing money.

I had to run a gang of organleggers out of the sewers just to get my neighbors to trust me enough to share some of their food. I had to burn off my skin in an acid bath just to get the stench of raw sewage off of me. And forget about ever wearing those clothes again.

Alright, so we've got a rigger, right? And that rigger jumps into a drone that is equipped with a drone arm with a melee weapon strapped to it (basis being the rigger uses his drones on par to what other people use BTLs for; live in some sort of fantasy life).

Question is: would this still run off of Gunnery+Agility (plus all the other bonuses) if he's jumped in, or would it use whatever skill the weapon is considered (such as Blades+Agility if he's using the claymore)

While trying to shitscribble my group using the Draw Your Group Template this question popped into my head.

Do any of the sourcebooks really go into detail about how the stuff you wear looks?

The armor vest and lined coat gets two vague descriptions that let you picture them but what clothes and stuff? Whats in vogue for the face?

I got all of 4e so just name a book if you wish.

would Shadowrun give a shit about a Brexit event?

do megacorps give a fuck if some countries stop being polito-buddies?
>>
Tthis >>47987924 actually raises an interesting question. Is there anything that's off limits for your runners? Because both of the two characters I play would probably cap any runner if he actually went to kill a kid, teammate or not. Well, one definitely would, while the other probably just would refuse to act.

You see, they are there to survive in a shitty world, not make it worse. By being shadowrunners, they retain what little independence there is left in the fifth world, and that includes being able to turn down missions. Without principles, men are nothing.
>>
>>47993713
As long as there is trade and the countries don't turn against the corps then no. But if they suddenly get more isolationist (foreign corps getting discriminated) or stop the trade then they will quickly decide to do something (see Aztlan)
>>
>>47993338

Any or all (a small groupshot) of those will make me thankful as shit.

- Balding human male rigger in a trenchcoat, with a steaming mug of soykaf in hand patting a car with an obvious rocket launcher attached

- Dwarf male Jackie Chan

- An obviously corp, "expensive" redheaded elf gal with a cyberarm

- Ripped as fuck orc sammy with an AK in hands. Lots of internal cyber (muscle replacement et al) which slightly shows.

- Dwarf wolf shaman, ugly as sin.
>>
>>47993713
I think the only kind of event Corps would care about is the kind that limits their extraterritoriality. Imagine if UK decided that Corps now answer directly to the government; shit would go down pretty fast there.

In the fluff, that couldn't happen, because corp court would magically prevent that from happening. In actuality, a government could easily make that decision, although there would be little for them to gain from it. However, this would be the kind of a principal question that the Brexit is about - are you willing to risk fucking up your economy to retain your sovereignity?
>>
>>47993745
>Is there anything that's off limits for your runners?
They're morally bankrupt to the point that the kind of jobs that they would turn down probably wouldn't be offered to them.

Attitude talks about fashion trends, and you can glean stuff here and there in various books. Shadowrunner chic (trenchcoats and mirrorshades) was the height of fashion in 2050, but it's dipped since then, and people are more likely to think 'runner' than 'trendy' if they see you on the town in your lined coat and deckbag.

You've got casual wear, which goes from regular 2016 clothing to stuff with with tribal and Japanese influences (fringe jackets belted with silk, beaded kimonos for indoor wear, etc).

Steampunk is back in fashion, as is post-apoc wear, so you can find someone in an updated 3-piece with brass accents and a derby hat (with trodes inside) working in marketing, or kids going clubbing with ripped pants held up by chains with AR skulls on their belts. There's more suble variations (cog-shaped buttons, bullet-shaped berets woven into the hair), obviously.

And that's not getting into holowear, Awakened clothing, corp styles, and all that. Whole bunch of stuff out there.
>>
>>47993745

Can't really afford being picky right now. Either our DM is master and escalating shit or we're completely retarted - it all started with a small datasteal, followed by a countersteal, then we were hired by other side to capture Johnson ordering the 'steal, then we kinda fucked up, and had to blow our way through police blockades with rocket launcher. Now we're desperatly doing jobs for a guy that our face believes is Sylvestran (which I seriously doubt) in hopes of getting in touch with a legendary personality creator. Also, I'm convinced that SK officials had been helping us along the way, which makes me even more nervous.

My character would shoot anybody to get out of this mess.

Nah, runners can be anything. Maybe they're gangers who have no place on the right side of the law, or maybe ex-mil who got discharged for some reason and you can't otherwise sell your skillset, maybe the guy's been laid off by a corp and has no other option left, or possibly people who value independence and refuse to sign up as a wage slave, or maybe they feel that the profits are higher when you don't have to care about taxes.

In my case, it's independence that drove them to the shadows.

Most gangers are not 'murder children' sort of people. They're petty criminals who like the camaraderie of the gang. It's one thing to claim a neighbourhood and rough up some other punks for stepping on your turf, it's another to take cash in return for shooting a child in the head.

Besides, there's plenty of reasons to end up in the shadows other than 'gang activity'. Does anyone else remember the Neo-Anarchists, the eco-warriors, the people who saw the sickness in society and were determined to cut it out, or at least shine a light on it and convince the rest of metahumanity that they had been made slaves by dragons and corporations, but that they could not be kept slaves except by their own will? >perfect- we get fake UO SINs, sneak in, grab it, and get gone

>only myself and the troll sammy somehow get inside
>after much subvocal chatter, we decide to go ahead with a modified version of the plan
>with the services of a spirit, the decker operating remotely, and coaching from the physad, we manage to get through the crowd, make small talk, and sneak through the library to the vault
>vault is in a separate wired grid, so the decker can't help, but this should be easy for me. I can't fuck up a simple Puppeteer that badly
>Sammy stands guard
>6 seconds later I drop unconscious, vault door stays shut, alarm rings
>~12 seconds later, sammy comes hurtling out the bay window overlooking the front drive, with me wrapped up like a baby in one of the library curtains and tied over his shoulder
>deploys cyberskates, magna-grips to the side of the van as it comes screeching around the corner, and we blaze off into the Snohomish sunset

Fortunately, the mark decided to move the goods to a more secure location, so we were able to intercept the convoy and complete the job, but I learned some important lessons that day: If your plan for Willpower is "I'll increase it during gameplay" you are dumb and deserve everything you get, and that despite your opinions on sprite rights you need to register some of them, because compiling mid-run is not smart

>Human elf poser decker (GM's (now ex) wife)
>First roll of game is German street sam trying to speak english

This sets the tone for our adventures.
>Sneaky beaky all like through this elf facility that still makes books; stealing some lineage book or something.
>Scout the place, get good, then head on it.

>Meanwhile in the garage basement, paraylze howl finally wears off.
>We beat down the dogs and continue inside the building.

>Lotta searching, nothing interesting. GM is doing some side shit with the decker while we sneaky beaky through.
>Finally get to the safe we need to crack.
>Mage acid spell to eat through it.
>Finally get the goods when we hear the vans pull up and KE boots hitting the ground.

Good thing too, as they threw grenades down at us.

>Fall in the elevator shaft from third to second floor
>Run down stairs
>Run into a single guy, alone, who panics and pulls out a grenade threatening Mutually assured destruction
>Street sam shoots him.
>I grab his riot shield, he grabs me, I levitate myself and we haul ass out of there to our escape van like an overgrown man with a mage/riot shield balloon
>Rest of the first floor swat team shooting at us, GM allows for the shield to protect me and the street sam.
>Turn corner, almost home free
>One officer remains, who stayed with the vans.
>Street sam nearly filled up on stun, decide not to risk it
>Hit him with mind control
>Force him to twerk
>We run past him as he madly twerks in front of the dash cam of the swat vans that showed up.

And that's how our first run went. With a video of a large man with cyberwear wearing a Dunkelzahn dragon mask dragging a floating kid around who held a riot shield, a book, and was wearing a Lowfyr dragon mask while an officer twerked his little heart out.

Fuck that decker for abandoning us without even a warning, though.

what do you guys do when writing out descriptions for your runners? do you just focus on what they look like and what their wearing with maybe an item or two that's important to them like a particle gun or sword?

I ask because im of writing one up and for the longest time I couldn't start despite having it all in my head. then a day or two ago I was able to get started and was able to write up a few small things like some of his face, his hair and his cloths but im sort of stuck here on what else to do or how to elaborate on what iv written.

any one got any advice or inspiration for a writers block riddle chummer.

I usually start with a couple personality traits, allow that to build a backstory, and allow the backstory to influence the design. FE Helleb0re, flippant excitesble rich kid, got the idea to run the shadows from trids. His corporate background influences some of his dress choices but he also strives to go Shadowrunner Chic a'la Horizon Group media. He's a decker so very into bleeding edge tech, has a top of the line deck and yamatetsu cutting edge cyberware. Demeanor takes precedence over physical attributes, because demeanor kind of influences physical attributes.
>>
>>47996911

I keep it fairly simple or try to compare it to something the other players and I have played. For example, I explained a spirit summoned by a Christian Theurge to basically be a Diablo-style demon. Spiky, red craggy skin, horns, digit-grade legs and hooves.
>>
Also, my gm comes home soon, and our crew is about to hear out a run from the same yak princes we exctracted from her rebellious stint with an aztechnology boyfriend. She wants to make her very scary daddy happy and fix face. Wish us luck with this brat.

I don't write out a physical description, beyond the basic of metatype/race and general style (e.g. tribal chic, neogrunge, zaibatsu).

My characters own more than one set of clothes, it's dumb to try and specify one outfit as if it's all they wear.
>>

>my character, a former marine corps promotional icon turned street sam, is the team operator
>shot callan and pie sweepan
>clearing rooms of gangers for the Johnson
>flash and storm in
>what do you mean grenades detonate at the start of my next initiative pass?
>what do you mean flashbangs have no damage drop off?
>ka-flashbang

And that's how I dropped 5 gangers and a street sam way into the physical. Kids, this is why you check the rules when dealing with high explosives when coming from another system. Even if that system is also a CGL product. Especially if so.

Start with basic attributes. Height, weight, colours. Then go to things that people notice when they see this person: demeanour, posture, the way they react to their environment and other people. Then think about what they're like to talk to: attitude, voice, vocabulary.

Lastly, think about goals, dreams, wishes, the things the character is aspiring towards. Another meal, or a lifetime of mastercraft gourmet experiences? What do they hate, what do they stand for, what do they admire?
>>
>>47993745
I won't kill anyone that is unarmed. For example, me and a ganger get into a shootout. I hit him enough to down him, but not kill him. He no longer has the capacity to shoot me, so I won't walk up and put one in his head. However, if he were to pick up his gun and attempt to shoot, then I would pop him one. But anyone without a weapon will not be killed.

So I've been trying to go through my character's Contacts and clean things up so there aren't any more (???) or 'Fixer' on the list, and everyone's contacts have a name, brief description, and so on.

I've only got one more stumbling block left, which is a 6 point contact for Kuroko, my Yakuza-Princess-In-Exile Technobrat.

https://www.f-list.net/c/ishiyama%20kuroko/

I've narrowed it down a bit, insofar as that I want a matrix contact, and something of a 'mentor' character in the ways of the Resonance. Another Technomancer, a Free Sprite, or something of that nature. But the inspiration well has run dry, and I'm not thinking of any fun gimmicks or good distinguishing features for a Matrix Sensei.

So if anybody wants to pitch some ideas, I'm totally up for listening.

The timing on grenades is weird, but it's not next init pass.
>The grenade is thrown during the character’s Action Phase and detonates in the next Combat Turn on the Initiative Score in which it was thrown minus 10, regardless of any additional changes to the thrower’s Initiative Score.

It's a full Combat turn, then an additional pass later. A trigger of just over three seconds, which is one reason you can't just grenade sammies into paste.

Hi /srg/ !
I've been away from roleplaying for a time, and for the holiday I'll try to convince my old gaming group to reform and play some Shadowrun.

Now, we used to play SR3 and it might be a good opportunity to switch to a more recent edition. Problem is, I absolutely HATE the fixed TN they introduced since 4th edition (because of reasons).

Is there any hope to find a set of houserule bringing back modifiers and varying TN in 5th edition, or alternatively updating 3rd edition with more recent material and fixes ?

Google "The Ends of the Matrix"; it's a 4e rewrite of the Matrix rules by Frank Trollman, an ex-SR freelancer that redoes everything, including technomancers.

Alternatively, take your Otaku nostalgia and shove it up your ass, because they were garbage.

>I've honestly never heard grognards say that they liked the old Target Number rules
The old rules were quite heavy on the Game Master, and required to handle numbers easily to be able to benefit from being able to play with the probability curves shape (like differentiate how difficult is an action and how well you need it done, or get more variety on the gear bonuses). Thankfully my GM was like part machine and handled that very well, so it was never a problem in my gaming group.

Having gone out of my way to try to read about her because of the whole Kane debacle, I have to ask.

That's actually a cool idea. Actually play into the 'wise old master' Sensei type.

(Though, Crash2.0 and the Technomancers only happened 10 years ago, in the 4e timeline, which isn't really enough time to have gotten old and wise as a matrix person).

I've kind of wanted to explore the idea of a mage or hacker who operates from full-immersion inside high-security Docwagon hospital, So a contact who's doing that (maybe in the face of old age and not being able to run like he used to) is pretty appealing.

I saw those, they were awful. They post quite often in character as well, just in random threads.

By far the worst is Red, though. Muh elf mage vampire runner (because he couldn't be just Infected, he had to be Awakened, and be an unusual Infected for an elf) who's super cool and tortured, but he only drinks the blood of people on death row because he's got principles. And assuming that the freelancer is the same guy who was on Opti's show under the Red name, he delayed a decent podcast about Sixth World history for a two-month masturbatory session.

Honestly, spending any time with CGL staff personally seems like it would be a bad time.
>>

I was thinking he was just old and wise before the crash/advent of technomancers then he got his powers after the crash and now lives the only way he can. plus 10 years is a good bit of time to learn some tricks to pass on to the yougins especially if he's an ageing runner who was already a crafty bastard. I just thought the idea was neat.

Yeah I'd say so. It's a great listen to get you caught up on history for shadowrun. He's started doing different things to slow down the history part since he's got like a decade of material left and I wasn't a fan of his big Ares showdown hullaballoo but he's a cool guy and offers some neat insight into the crazy Drek that neo anarchists spew on a daily basis.

Something is so ironic to me about a Shadowrunner with "principles" but who still consorts with the Arcology (podcast).

as a side note his AI was garbage when he made a cameo appearance in SR:HK. Nearly got my buddy Racter killed

Bull is my favourite example of how exactly not to do fan service, how what can seem like a good idea can quickly turn rotten, and what happens when you hire people based on their willingness to defend the boss from embezzlement allegations and not on writing talent. Ratokovich says he has no influence on how the fluff keeps jerking off his old character, it's just that all the writers have so much fun writing him, which I don't believe in the slightest.

>>47998948
7/10. The release schedule is spotty af, and sometimes the author gets too wrapped up in his own metafiction bullshit (no, I don't want to hear in-character interviews with your friends about what happen when Dunkelzahn died, I want to hear what actually happened, canonically), but the content is usually pretty good, and delivered in an engaging way.

I'm not super familiar with the Otaku.
When did they first show up? some quick wiki browsing is that they start fading around age 20, burn out completely at 30, so assuming Matrix Sensei was nearing the end of his tether by the time that Crash 2.0 happened and he ended up a TM, he'd be 30 or 40.

Having been plugged in for Crash 2.0 would explain some possible neural damage/paralysis that led to him being a hospital case, though.

That's the most annoying part. They were in 2nd edition, so 2053-ish, but the fluff advances the idea that Otaku may have started after the 2029 Crash virus mutated, and that there are already 'older' otaku by 2053 who could have helped your character as a child. Virtual Realities 2.0 is the oldest book I know they're in.

I always wanted to send a team of runners back in time to some where during the beginning of the shadowrun timeline and see how much they can unfuck/fuck up the timeline. ex. stop the natives from launching the nuke/form the NAN, starting a company back in the beginning knowing what they know and do some insider trading on steroids, save the D, etc, etc. it would be amusing at least no matter what happens.
>>
>>47999102

The Arcology is definitely worth a listen. At least catching up on Actual Plays is worth it (since most of the runner breakdowns and book reviews are out of date). The Actual Play is actually dome of the best actual play podcasting I've heard. All their characters are really well fleshed out/ well role played, the rules never get in the way too much, Mr Johnson is excellent at kneecapping the runners whenever they get complacent or arrogant, and there's very little character breaking. The only weird part is that the released episodes are way behind the current source books so characters aren't the most mechanically diverse.

Also (and this will totally sound like shilling) their patreon actual plays are excellent too and pretty fun.

>Lofwyr's reach

On this note. Just concluded a several-session arc involving him two weeks back, after a campaign break because two of us got deployed overseas.

Briefly:

>hit a SK databank (I didn't want to, the rest of the players thought we could handle it)
>couldn't get into the vault, so we took the vault
>couple of days pass, I'm freaking out, rest of group is pretty calm
>our Johnson didn't show to the meeting
>fuck it, I'm out
>prep to bail on Europe, vanish down a few bolt holes I've set up over the campaign
>night before I'm leaving, an invitation to a SK "private function" shows up at our hideout, signed by "Brackhaus"
>NOPE NOPE NOPE
>I leave ahead of schedule (this is where the others got deployed)
>through a couple of sessions with the GM done privately, thus begins the chase
>every place I hide, every place I go, that fucking invitation follows me
>I hide on a cruise ship thinking maybe the open ocean is out of touch, it finds me
>I hide in Hong Kong for two sessions in a dump of a bolt hole, it finds me when SK through an array of shell companies buys the building I'm living in
>finally I vanish into the depths of Latin America, the bottom of the bottom
>living alone, in the jungle, no contact, no nuyen, no SIN, no nothing, only thing even close is a "village" that gets food drops every year
>a month passes
>food drop comes eleven months early
>INVITATION
>accompanying it is a second letter this time
>"The helicopter will be picking you up at six."
>the helicopter arrives at six, at my cabin
>I find out from the others, when we encounter each other again, that Lofwyr had something he really wanted in that vault, and he has been deliberately ensuring that we have no money, no SINs, no contacts, and nowhere to hide, the GM was running these sessions for all of them sometimes via Skype under strict instructions that none of us were to talk to each other about it

And we all officially meet up again in-game this weekend.

I'd like to incorporate elements from YotC into my game thats set in the 60s, in particular SURGE. What are some ways to mitigate/discourage players from the more furry aspects that introducing SURGE crunch can cause, without seeming like a railroady/NOFUNALLOWED GM?

5e has the most going on right now, but 4e has more shit to work with. 3e and before are a clusterfuck of rules.
>>
As an addendum to >>48006457
3e might be a clusterfuck of rules, but it has the most fluff of the last three editions. So while you might want to play 4e/5e you should have a look in the 3e sourcebooks for setting backstory
>>
>>48006457
I gotta disagree here, if you discount the setting stuff from 4e (Of which there is quite a bit) 5e has more material at this point.

Not all of it worthwhile of course, but the point remains.

You make anyone who wants to play a SURGE character roll on the random chart. Simple as that.

The two problems with SURGE are
>A) It leads to special snowflake furry shit
>B) It leads to incredibly minmaxed furry shit

Enforce random rolls, and you take away any deliberate attempt to make whatever anime character and all the obvious munchkin routes. There's even different grades, so the PCs can choose their level of adventure, or just stick with established metatypes. You want to play someone affected by freaky magic? Go for it. But you're not going to take the 'freaky' out of the equation.
>>
>>48006666
Fair enough I wouldn't imagine most of dragons wanting to go out and roar when they can simply stay in and check on their stock.
>>
>>48006787
That's basically the issue.

>>
>>47993907
It's not super great, to be honest. It's functional for basic modules, but when you get into shit that's like 'You can have five points in three different skills but none of them can have more than two points and also you have to kill a puppy' it collapses a bit. There's a loose plan to re-do it in a manner closer to how mentor spirits are handled, but there's no ETA on that.

Because the Sea Dragon is a dick. 'Sea Dragon' isn't even it's real name; it's just the name people have given to 'that bigass dragon that lives in the oceans and claims them all, has a team of eco-terrorists it uses to interfere with shipping and oil wells and stuff, and unlike most dragons will personally go and rip apart ships as it pleases.'

Sirrurg is the land equivalent in South America. Basically they're the huge assholes of the dragon world, who don't even want to pretend to work with metahumans on anything approaching a partnership.
>>
>>48006898
No worries.

The Sea Dragon is basically feral (Although it still has the intelligence of a dragon), refusing to interact with society in any meaningful way.

Since it doesn't like society, and doesn't interact with it, it tends to be a bit more hands on with its goals. Which usually involves getting society to leave the fucking ocean.

Maersk and Proteus are two megacorps which have a LOT to do with the ocean. Proteus tends to build labs there, and Maersk, like its real world counterpart, makes most of its money from overseas shipping.
>>
>>48006960
So does the fluff happen to state why it doesn't want to interact or talk things out? Also thank you for the explanation. >>48006947
So then there's a bunch of dragons who just don't wish to work with the rest of the planet?
>>
>>48007029
Nope, there's no real explanation.
It's just all angry all the time.

>So then there's a bunch of dragons who just don't wish to work with the rest of the planet?

Well Sirrug wants to set up a continent sized environmentalist commune, it just doesn't want to interact with society as it is NOW.

The Sea Dragon is really the only one who completely eschews society.
>>
>>48005575

sounds like someone cant hide well enough or that's some premium railroading you got there, either way good luck pal
>>
Thinking of running Shadowrun with the Savage World system.

Anyone have any thoughts?
>>
>>48007029
The thing about dragons is that they're apex predators, and REALLY don't like people interfering in what they see as their domain. Dragon society is essentially a series of carefully-negotiated promises not to kill each other yet.

The Sea Dragon is a dick because it WANTS to be a dick and nobody with the power to stop it is willing to break those accords.

>So does the fluff happen to state why it doesn't want to interact or talk things out?

No. The Sea Dragon doesn't explain shit, it says, "Get out of my ocean." Actually, it doesn't even say that, it just murders everyone on an oil tanker and throws the wreckage into a harbour facility and lets people figure it out from there.

>So then there's a bunch of dragons who just don't wish to work with the rest of the planet?

Pretty much. Lofwyr is iconic as 'Dragon CEO', and you have people like Hestaby in Tir Tairngire or Dunkelzahn in the UCAS who will get involved in politics, or Schwartzkopf in Prague who teaches uni (and assembles a bunch of magic artifacts for his own purposes) but many dragons aren't that friendly (relatively speaking). Amazonia is a nation under the thumb of multiple dragons, who fight with each other and have created an Awakened paradise. Which is to say, you can't kill any animal there, shifters are better than regular metahumans under the law, and predators can eat you if they have half an excuse. Ryomo lives on an island somewhere in the Pacific and doesn't give a fuck what you do, just stay the fuck off of his island.

Sure.
There's no issue with that.

>Two you think if the sea dragon ever messes with Lofwyr's corporation that they'll be hell to pay?

Great Dragons mess with each other all the time.
Lung and Ryumyo explicitly do so all day every day.

The question for Lofywr is one of cost effectiveness.
Sure he could dedicate all his resources to bringing down the Sea Dragon, but is that worth it?

>Like once or twice sure, but what prison has a policy of repeatedly drawing blood from inmates?

In the RF fluff story that opens the Infected chapter, he says that he has a LS contact that lets him into Death Row at a certain prison. Which, OK, sure, you can get some blood from there, but it's not like vampires are popular with anyone; somebody is going to take issue with a vamp swinging by twice a week for a pick-me-up. If it was just a way that Red assuaged his guilt about sucking blood (like buying local once a month at the store) that would be one thing, but the whole "read their minds, then find the real killer" thing is too much.

>>48007178
LM is alright. Actually seems to believe that CGL can make mistakes and acknowledges that there are problems with the way things are handled, which is more than any of the staffers do. She's not so wrapped up in getting her donut steel into JackPoint that she has lost sight of the fact that they're supposed to be writing a game, with working rules and fluff that actually is useful to tables.
>>
>>48007266
I haven't actually engaged too much with the game since the game I ran with her ended, I've only recently picked up the game again. So I don't really know how she's doing vis a vis shadowrun.

I remember some of the stuff she wrote was pretty good, but I can't remember specifics.
>>
>>48007265
Fair enough, I don't think it would get to the top of its food chain by being rash. Ah another quick question do the dragons in shadowrun go by genders or is it somewhat like Iron kingdoms in that they really have no use for the terms.
>>
>>48007297
Some of them do genders, some don't.

Aden seems to not really care for the notion, but other than that most of them seem to have gender they primarily use when taking human form or when being addressed.

Most recent thing was the Drake section of HS, which was... not great.

The stuff leaked about the Technomancer book seems interesting, though when that comes out is anyone's guess.

>>48007330
Well, there's megacorps. In terms of raw, pound-for-pound physical and magical might, nothing really matches a dragon, but you get around that by fighting dirty. For example, Sirrurg the Destroyer had his ass kicked by Aztechnology when he went too far with the destroying, and if some dragons and Great Form Spirits hadn't shown up and hauled his scaly ass to dragon jail then he would be dead.

Basically if you ever see a dragon in person, you're in the 1%, and if you are ever in a situation where you need to fight a dragon personally you're already dead. Most people have enough on their plates dealing with some thug with a Predator.
>>
>>48007214
Look, im not going to get into an argument over this, iv already had this discussion more times than I can count here and elsewhere. their killable, not easily mind you but doable. plus Maersk might not use nukes because nukes tend to fuck up the area that their used in, its bad for the environment and bad for business even when you kill said asshole dragon, its probably cheaper and more cost effective to let him throw his tantrums kill a shipping freighter or dozen than actually try and deal with said dragon seriously and the fallout that comes with dealing with dragon politics.

I just hate the idea that the dragons are some sort of lady of pain, all according to keikaku untouchable figures. I get it there supposed to be background elements big name NPC's, forces of nature, etc, etc. but if you got all the right elements you should be able to pull something off mind you surviving it all is another story
>>

Sirrug the Destroyer most likely.

>>
>>48007400
