I'd homebrew them from scratch, make them alien rather than anthropomorphic, give all the races several sub cultures and nations, and have them all geographically separated across multiple continents for better niche plausibility. Then, have the campaign take place in a single area and only allow one race, all appropriate subraces, and maaaaybe a second race if I know the player can be trusted.
That way there'd be internal consistency, and no problems with pre-concieved notions and autists being upset because a race is being played wrong.

Mockingbird is an example of a good social talent.
Simple, fits fluff, does something cool at will that isn't completely outdone by a spell of equal or lower level.
A good new talent would be... I dunno, the ability to fake official announcements or bulletins that large scale influence the actions of npc commoners? The ability to disguise a willing ally as your social form and have them ping for divination purposes? The ability to set contingency-like conditions on single charge magic items and set them as traps?

I know quicken spell can lower the casting time, but is there any way to cast or delay a spell such that it becomes a 1-round casting time spell?
I know applying a metamagic is a full-round action, but that's not quite the same thing. I'm looking for a way to have the effects fire off at the start of your turn, like a 1-round summoning spell etc.

That depends entirely on what your definition of "fighter who is a merchant" is. The standard for me when I want a fighty-merchant is Fighter (Lore Warden, Drill Sergent). This gives you Appraise, Spellcraft, and all the Knowledge skills alongside being able to team up with allies and work as a cohesive unit. If you want a more solo-focused character, consider the Pack Mule and Martial Master archetype combo instead; swap your combat feats around, carry really heavy loads, it's excellent for a warrior that travels around and collects weapons and armor.

Usually yes, a sailor or privateer gets it more accurately, but most of the seabound archetypes are pretty crappy. Drill Warden and Martial Mule are relatively effective at the concept as well, without needing to dip into 3rd-party material. If you can use 3PP, consider the Ructioneer (ICOSA Entertainment) or the Myrmidon (Dreamscarred Press) to make the Fighter better too.

Allow me a chance to postulate a wild theory as to why all the Proud White Empires are in decline or in danger of decline, while all the assorted brown-folk are doing fine.
It's because Paizo knows people are going to be playing, in majority, white people in White Land, and eventually there will be a party asking the question, "how can we take over this Decaying Empire and spruce it up?"
That is why the Empires are in decline. This is why all the rulers or competent heirs are women. Paizo recognizes the audience is white and male, their characters will be white and male, and so they built the setting to accomodate people who want to marry a queen, or get a cute engagement to the princess, or take the throne and become "[Character Name] The Great", the one who "turned things around."
Things are great in Qadira because Qadira is STATIC. It is practically an un-country. A backdrop. Set Piece. Places like Cheliax or Taldor or even the Land of the Linnorm Kings have motion, they're going somewhere, and Paizo gave people quest hooks built into the lore to prove it.

Proud Warrior dudes with hooves and a collectivist society, faintly roman trappings and paranoia. Used to have the big cool empire that took over after the Big Guys fucked everything up, which is now dozens of warring substates.
Humans were directly made by the gods out of mud and blood, have pretty good magic resistance, and tend towards religious shenanigans. They're not the most recent on the scene, but they haven't blended nearly as well as the rest.
All four races are pretty well spread everywhere, with few countries having really big imbalances.

Whip mastery is an option, although there's a bunch of hoops to jump through to get damage for it.
Spear Dancing sadly only works on your turn, you can't threaten with it.
Polearm Master is, again, limited to one or the other. Dragoon does have it, although that's 7 levels of fighter. Still, it does bring up using a double weapon with Reach on one end, so that might be an option.
Shield Brace one does require a shield slam, which I unfortunately can't do with this build.
