So, last time on /jc/!

What's everyone's favorite Jump?
>>
>>47036788
On that note, how easy would the monsters from Monster Hunter be to clone with Jurassic Park's genetic engineering perks?
>>
>>47036821
If you got the knowledge to back it up, I'd imagine not that hard for most them. Some them might give you some trouble, especially the ones that have some fantastical elemental effect. However other than that, they're just regular dinosaurs/critters for most part.
>>
>>47036818
Gosh, that's a tricky one. I guess I think Blame! really captures the feel of Nihei's work. Kinda amused it took (most, ASA built his own improved version a while ago) people THIS long to figure out how crazy the GBE is.

Can't wait for 'em to find out about the Level 9 Safeguard
>>
>>47036840
>fantastical elemental effect

Yeah, that's what I was wondering about mainly. Between that and that gauntlet, the things look like big prehistoric monsters but I dunno if they have magical components too
>>
>>47036855
Most people don't really look into any setting beyond what the jump tells them or what people talk about in thread. You'd be amazed at some of the things you can get from jumps if you look beyond the pdf.
>>
>>47036874
Hey, no argument here. Even just counting the jump itself-there's a shitload of great stuff (weapons made of pure force, using giant robots as magic conduits, psychic alchemy) in Five Star Stories nobody seems aware exists because they're too busy wanking their LoT's size
>>
>>47036818
Sword & Sorcery. Too much good stuff for our hard-earned points, basically a freeform setting, great tone.

>"Alright folks, we are coming to you a-Live on all Wilynet frequencies, no permission given of course. I'm Bobbie G and this is my darling daughter Connie here to restore what the Doctor cut out: Fun. And power to the people, of course."
>"Now, a warning: side effects of tonight's show may include dizziness, increased heart rate, spontaneous dancing, hunger, levitation, increased libido, mania, infusions of grandeur, loss of self control, and the thought that you may be worth fighting for. You should avoid attending the show proper if you're pregnant, as your children may be born with wings. If you can't handle that, well, you're shit out of luck, we're on every station and there aint no stopping us for the next 3 hours."
>"Some of you may be thinking 'How do I find this amazing display of beauty and talent' and gentlemen, she is single. Don't worry about getting here, just stay tuned in, grab the loveliest person in the room, and get to moving. We'll pick you up as soon as we find you. The house band will be playing all night, or at least until they're more played out than played up. Speaking of which, they got exactly what you've been needing: It's the Little Roads!"
>AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH YEAH! Now don't be afraid to do your thing, shake your thing, or be something, cuz tonight's opening and drinks are on me. Let's light up this night.

You know what this world needs? Some positivity. This city has been knocked out into the streets and left down in the dumps. We need to make it feel the heat. We need to break people out of their stupors and get them jumping, dancing, and ready to move. Revolution is movement after all.
>>
>>47036931
Well, that's phase one, anyway. Getting a place to nurture the spark of rebellion, see whose willing to defy Wily, and get them believing that they can do more. If we're going to find heroes, they'll have to come from humanity itself. A robot is a different sort of existence that we can't rely on to solve all of humanity's problems. They are found via psychic scans and get to my stage through portals summoned directly into their homes or to help with escapes from Joes. My companions are more than happy to talk to them and try to motivate them to be better, offering training or incentive where they can.

Over time, cells are formed, and they have a supplier that can get them most anything they need. It's their rebellion, I'm just benefiting from it.

>>47036818
My top three are Van Hellsing, Generic Virtual World, and Lost Valley of the Dinosaurs
>>
>>47036818
lost Valley of the dinosaurs is everything I want from a jump, flavorful, challenging, and filled with tough decisions.

I'm going to read it just on basic principle. If you hate it, it must be awesome.
>>
>>47037276
Seems to be. I doubt there will be any large scale overhauls, at most some items or perks will get tweaked.
>>
>>47037276
Pretty much. Only adding one companion option, and a drawback.

Funny that you ask now, actually. I'm /just/ finishing up the finally edits of the pdf. Expect to see it today, perhaps even in a few minutes depending on my internet here.

So here we are, in what is allegedly 19th century france. But in practice, is a cavalcade of insanity with vaguely Victorian trappings in a world gone mad. Men speak the language of the stars, divided between those who would see the Liberation of N-er, the French Revolution come to pass, and those who serve the Traitor E-wait no, the king of France in maintaining law and order.

Attack names will be called.

Poses will be struck.

Random things will start bursting into flame as everyone from Jean Valjean to Javert suddenly belt out arias in the language of hungry star gods.

And we're just over here in the corner, trying to prevent what Is and Is Not going completely pear-shaped because all the urchins have learned to cast lightning bolt.

>>47037374
Gotcha.

By the way, how do Genesis Frogs work after the jump? How does one even go about creating a frog that is a universe? Presumably they're smaller universes than most, right?
>>
>>47037887
I think you need skaia in order to allow a genesis frog to grow into a universe and I really doubt you could find a way to create a new skaia post jump. That should stop it being a problem in terms of balance.

Honestly, unless a particular font suits the jump better you'll probably be better off going with one of the defaults, Times New Roman, Calibri, Arial etc. They're familiar and standard - easy to read and so on.
>>
>>47038468

So. First things first, we're off to kill a Denizen, while our companions work on figuring out how to deal with the universe frog business. The drawback makes it sound like an SMT endboss, so we'll once again be tag teaming the thing with Metatron, Remiel and an army of other Heralds. Caliborn killed an unusually powerful Denizen with a crowbar, so this should be a cinch.

After that-well. This whole reality fascinates and horrifies us in equal measure, so we will try to figure out some of the greatest mysteries of this madhouse.

Like how the fuck Troll biology even works if reproduction involves an unexplained drone coming out of nowhere to gather their slime(?). Speaking of slime, where d'you get paradox slime from after the jump?

And why/what are Horrorterrors.

And whether it's possible to tamper with the creation process of a Genesis Frog to produce a World Turtle instead.

We're basically like some kid who's grossed out by a nest of bugs but can't resist poking it from a safe distance.
>>
>>47038822
Wait, don't Sburb sessions require an even number of players, or is that just the convention the comic followed.

Also, link to the Sburb jump, please?
>>
Ok doing a side jump where my goal is to convince taylor that the Simurgh is in fact her older sister. i need a telekinesis perk/combo that is of similar strength to what simmie shows in cannon x-men is in use for inorganic form and telepathy. my plan is to go in as her shard and grant powers along with irreversible body changes to look more and more like the angel.
>>
>>47036855
I wonder if it would be possible, with the help of other perks, to create a robot capable of safeguard level 9 stuff. Thankfully it should be possible with Amazo backup memory, and Worm skills like Topography manipulation and Doormaker to do that crazy "Sun in your face" shit.
>>
>>47038347
You could just be a Bdelloid, since it can basically steal DNA from people and things to repair itself. If Eva could get Adolfs base from just eating a bit of his body, you could do the same.
>>
>>47039044
Technically, the only reason that worked for her was because after the Germans remote-detonated the bomb in Adolf's body, her own shrapnel-ridden body regenerated with bits of Adolf inside.

>>
>>47039187
I convinced people that they are just a program in a game for my amusement. Giving them proof was the best part.
>>
>>47039099
True, very true, but a Bdelloid being capable of what it can do in nature, it should be capable for it to work in Terraformars by taking their genetic material.
>>
>>47039106
Dragon / Kitsune forms have inherent magic, and those forms get more powerful over time. That's the only time elapsed = power increased 1:1 that I can think of off the top of my head. Everything else would just be assumed increases if you continued to work at it, like D&D magic and the like.

>>47038461
It'll depend a bit on your formatting. If you have images, you're going to want to fit more text around the images on the page, so try a narrower font.
Some fonts are good for certain themes (like Times New Courier for 1984), other times you'll want just the headings in theme-appropriate fonts.

>>
>>47039835
There seems to be a hole in the 1000cp drawback, taking Free Roam doesn't earn you any enemies so can't you just cruise around with an essentially free 1000 extra cp?

Otherwise it looks pretty fantastic. Is this your first jump?
>>
>>47039968
Considering there's still plenty of bandits, Imperials, possibly Beast and other nasties out there, picking Free Roam with The Greatest War could still end civilization, just in a less in-your-face manner.
It's my first jump, yeah.
>>
>>47039835
Will you be doing Deserts of Kharak too?
>>
>>47040013
My problem with that is that the drawback only gets worse when you actively fight and win, and that the Free Roam scenario is the only one that doesn't force some form of battle on you. Meaning if you just run from any raiders you meet you don't actually suffer the effects of the drawback, apart from them being a bit more powerful to start with. They only get stronger each time you win or copy your stuff if you use it to gain an edge.

It's just not a 1000cp drawback if you can easily neuter it by going somewhere else and picking one of the offered scenarios. I'd recommend just not letting people who pick Free Roam pick the drawback, because every other scenario has a fail condition that will lead most everyone to have to fight.
>>
>>47040041
>>47040080
I've never played Deserts of Kharak, so at the very least not anytime soon. Don't know if I'll actually get the game, I don't have nearly as much time to game as I used to.
I'll add a Free Roam explanation to the drawback as well.
>>
>>47039022

Speaking of which, is there actually a full rundown of their abilities like with D&D Dragons, or is that a no-go?

Also, D&D wiki isn't very good at sifting out homebrew from regular 3.5 content unless you stick to the SRD, so if anyone has a list of all the non-homebrew True Dragons, that'd be a big help for my Forgotten Realms build.

Now that is a hard one.

Okay no not really.

Between Evo and Franken Fran.....either of them can be said to be my favourite.
I love the setting in both, I would be interested in exploring both (More like laugh at the misery of others in the latter...but eh).
So from the perspective of a jump, both are about the same in good shit for me to have, picking between only the two of them if lets say someone was to sent me somewhere......I literally would freeze unable to choose.
Let me look at both jumps and how I could game them.....and if they are the first and only jump, then I pick the first because I could pick two of the drawbacks in order to get free extra cp to use (locking my non-jump powers and inspiring other things with stuff from other jumps).

I dunno. Drop-In, Regular Person(ala Komaru), Ultimate, Ultimate Despair, Future Foundation. Should be easy enough to make the perks for it, and there's some pretty nice items in there, in addition to the fact that DR3 is going to be sci-fi, so it'll likely have all kinds of cool shit.

Honestly I was considering it more within the context of the high school life of mutual killing than the setting as a whole, which your post is implying. I for one would read a writefag of a jumper infiltrating Hope's Peak and trying to cause a 'everybody lives' scenario while trying to hide their powerlevel and to pretend to be merely a Kirigiri figure. Or kicking down the door, declaring 'I'm the auper duper high scool level physical god, what are you gonna do' and kicking the shit out of Junko, that works too.

Maybe I'm being silly, but I can't see very well a jump on the expanded universe of Dangan Ronpa being pulled off without it being treated as less Pheonix Wright and more Fallout.

OC Jumps. We've got a rule against them, and people would probably be terrible at them even if we didn't, but I'd like to flex my creative muscles a little bit and make something unique.
>>
>>47041671
We don't have solid rules banning them, people will just subject you to intense scrutiny.
>>
>>47041566
I guess I should be more specific. I don't necessarily mean Song Magic from ArT, though that is undoubtedly powerful and neat. I've just always loved the idea that music and magic were tied together somehow. That the odd combination of math, creativity and passion that is music can, under the right circumstances, influence or reshape reality. Which, as I write it sounds kinda retarded, but I've always loved stories and mechanics like that.

Typically when I D&D, I'll play a bard and I'll try to prestige into classes that increase the bardic song abilities. There's even a couple of /awesome/ PrC's that are specifically about song magic.
>>
>>47041789
>/awesome/ PrC's that are specifically about song magic
Seeker of the Song and Sublime Chord? If so, those are two of my favorite.
>>
>>47038347

I picked up a hyper adapting rolly polly thing from Toriko for it. They're relatively small, so scaled up I always imagined it as a tasty option.
>>
>>47041789
I could never stand Bards. The stereotypical spoony whore personality is offputting, as is the fact that the vast majority of their spells are only good for buffing (and I hate playing support).
>>
>>47041962
I get that, alot of people do. My DM for the first bard I played hated bards and every session was more or less an exploration of what horrible level-appropriate shit he could do to get me to drop the character.

As for the mechanics, yeah it does lend itself easily to buffing and support but there are good modules and prestige classes that can help them to shine in their own right.

And you don't have to play them as spoony. While that can be fun, and lord knows I've done it, you can play them as dramatic but serious as well. I did a magic/bard song heavy build once that I more or less made as an excuse to thematically create something out of an Epica or Nightwish song. That was fun.

Generic Sburb Jump v1.pdf

So my internet crapped itself when I tried to upload it this morning. Let's see if it goes better now.

Added fluff, one companion option, and a drawback. Unless something went wrong, it's done and ready for builds now.

As always, comments are appreciated.

>>47038822
Looks good. Do note that the crowbar-murdering was with what's basically an anti-magic crowbar, and what he fought was only a singular aspect in that specific timeline. SMT end boss sounds about right.

Paradox Slime is gathered with Appearifier tech, which works by locking in a being's coordinates, and creates slime when failing to teleport it to you. The Meteor Lab has facilities for that, which will continue to work in other jumps (through you'd need to recalibrate the universe coordinates), and you'd be able to construct them with the EctoBiologist perk.

>>47037887
They don't work after the jump, as mentioned, you'd need an uninhabited Skaia with intact, fully developed Battlefield. Good luck finding or making an omniscient well of infinite potential.
By splicing all kinds of frogs together until the resulting croak is just right. Then shooting it at a planet-sized pond out of a volcano.

As for size, Genesis Frogs are bigger on the inside, basically. They appear to still be the size of a small planet, but not full universe-size.

>>47038896
They usually have an even number of players, but there's no real reason not to allow an odd number of imports. So to avoid headaches about not allowing 8 companions to be imported, I just gave a small justification for it.

And well, it's not a link. But here.
>>
>>47041962
You really don't have to play them that way. The spoony whore personality isn't the only way to play high charisma characters. One of my top five favorite characters to play was a Bard Spy on a quest for revenge against the main antagonist of our campaign. Not spoony or whory in the slightest.

My spoony whore character was actually my sorcerer, who took just enough ranks in Perform and Bluff to fool everyone into thinking he was a Bard... until the fireballs started flying.

>>47040764
Sort of like Hellblazer. It's absolute shite and nobody likes it but nobody around has gotten round to actually making a not terrible one.

Obligatory Girls und Panzer. There's more then likely not enough content to make a good jump.

Also, Log Horizon. I know there was a WIP, but it's not in the drive and from what I recall it wasn't very good. I would take a crack at it, but I haven't read the light novels or anything. I just wanna be a swashbuckling cowboy with magical tattoos damn it.

>Page of Void
What exactly does "Pulling concepts into his being' do?

>It is NOT a 'take and train for a decade or two' road to phenomenal cosmic power. You're playing the long game instead, and in my personal opinion probably looking more at Post-Spark awakening of your full potential.

You should either definitely seal things off til post spark, and if they do potentially grow to be so strong possibly should, or shouldn't make things unclear with this 'maybe' ruling.
>>
How can I maximize the amount of companions I have ? I want an army behind me . I know host from Sword and sorcery gives you 20 followers in one Companion slot , and Darkest Dungeon gives you a 4 man team in one Companion slot, but what are some other jumps that let you have more than one follower in a Companion slot ?
>>
>>47042201
LoT gives you four companions for one spot. Each of them are easily worth a squad of hardened soldiers in battle.
>>
>>47042201
Skullgirls gives you an army for one slot.
>>
>>47037101
It is really too bad about Animorph's 2hr limit, there is a lot of bull shit that that limit puts a nail in.
>>
>>47042148
>What exactly does "Pulling concepts into his being' do?
The Page of Void looks into the Void through his own mind, and then pulls concepts out, starting with normal-ish stuff and ending up with abstract concepts, then incorporating those into his identity/soul.

He didn't seem to be doing much with it through, aside from insisting that he /was/ those things, despite his body not looking like it. Some things known to be incorporated are horses, stars, other stuff, and mentioned almost calling up a dead soul to subsume and learn their language.

He also didn't have a tangible effect on his surroundings or body. He just mentioned building his identity around everything, and something about shared experiences.

Like, this bit:
>It turns out my body was merely the host to a highly intricate system of entities of any sort you could name, biological or mechanical, sentient or nonsentient, physical or metaphysical. My inner field of experience is shared by the souls of ancient legendary musclebeasts, a range of devices such as hivehold appliances, a number of cosmological features such as planets, star systems, even several universes, and a variety of abstract concepts which sentient beings have not yet formed the language to express.

Someone called it "kind of like an advanced psychometry power" too, when I described it last. Which seems about right.

>You should either definitely seal things off til post spark, and if they do potentially grow to be so strong possibly should, or shouldn't make things unclear with this 'maybe' ruling.
It's not actually that powerful, but concerns were raised on it being the 'best' choice, despite that only being true in the most general power level sense. Every class works in different ways.

I don't feel sealing it off is necessary, since none of the things we saw Pages was actually /that/ impressive in my opinion. It's just a note that it's not going to be easy to get full use out of it.
>>
>>47040985
You know there is a folder for jumps that are too, ahem, for the main one.
>>
>>47042444
And that folder is explicitly nothing to do with anything you're supposed to post in this particular thread. It was set up by a guy who's now on Questionable Questing.

Do whatever you like in private, but that folder has nothing to do with /tg/'s jumpchain
>>
>>47042436
It might be best then to put in the note that it's basically a really great psychometry, since I feel that 'making concepts part of you' is going to be pretty easy for some idiot to misinterpret and try to make invincibility a part of themselves unless they have something that clearly outlines what the ability can do outside of 'you can make concepts part of you'.
>>
>>47042201
For the most a bang for your buck currently the best are that I know of:

Skull Girl: Small Army - 100 People
Overlord: Brown Minions - 50 Minions
Red, Blue and Green Minions - 10 Minions or upgrade to 20.

If you take them to I think its BLAME! or Omega, one or the other has the Synthetic origin. Import them to that origin for the perk that lets them merge alternate forms.

Then take them to Zerg and make them Zerglings with the triple upgrade that splits them into 3 more.

Have fun with your swarm of minions.

Isn't it possible to just manipulate Eidolon's mind so that they never appear?
>>
>>47041091
Not him but you can't take the sexuality out of it, without literally ignoring the entire plot. The main character is a whore/spy that saves her nation and later the world by being a whore/spy, and has a supernatural ability of being a masochist. Though the main character does change in the 4th book I think and then the main character is the decedent of the god of masochist heaven, and from what I remember it's just as relevant as the previous main character being a supernatural masochist. Something like half of the story revolves around sex, and you can't just strip it out.
>>
>>47042983
Touhou is...hillariously strange and weird, people underestimate how dangerous it can be without some proper mental defences and magical ones.

That said go to King Arthur, Touhou is best left for later on otherwise you become op).
>>
>>47043052
Not quite.

Unless there's a timeline roll or choice I'm somehow missing, you appear long after Eidolon's power activated them. Getting him help with his inner demons might give him some form of control over them, but it is unlikely you can just poof them away.
>>
>>47042944
UW was a fun jump. Running around during the sixteenth century with ten thousand ton cargo ships was incredibly amusing. And also profitable.
>>
>>47041587
An improbable island jump sounds amazing, but keeping to the flavour sounds like a problem.

I propose race=background, both for functionality and because you'll have had her mind wipe the shit out of you before most races unlock. However, due to the number of races, some might need an umbrella background with a choice of a couple races, maybe with small racial buffs depending of choice.
Humans are drop-in equivalents, and focus on either misc. abilities and/or just surviving this madness as a result. Zombies are damage sponges. Kittymorphs are melee combatants, where Midgets/Squats are more beserkers. Mutants should be expensive due to their combat prowess, and maybe have the full ability of their noodly appendages locked behind a capstone; however, that might be a bit much. Robots, of course, get their overclocks and repairs and perks, and Jokers get perks based on tricks and chance, though they might need paywalls and such considering their power; the ability to scam people out of their presence and existance in the world on a whim isn't something to be taken lightly, after all.
If you run out of perks to give, the starting enhancements would work as padding, assuming you don't want to give one out for free for the flavour.

I'd write more, but I've procrastinated enough that this alone took far longer than needed.

That was me, actually. It was the best I could make sense of Equius' little monologue about what he was doing on the wiki. And yeah, Void seems to be pretty low-key as an Aspect compared to Time or Space, for example.

But holy balls, Page of Void's going to be SO useful in Exalted jump. Saved me a lot of trouble trying to figure out something for something else; stockpilling those Impossible Theorems and Breaths of the Void is totally gonna be worth it!

>>
>>47043229

>>47043227
Not him but kinda both IIRC to be honest family, it's a political intrigue but masochistic sex is a big part of the setting's culture. Kind of like Gor, but less cringey
>>
>>47043058
A super masochist perk would be pretty powerful if combined with powers that make you stronger through pain.
>>
>>47043222

>>
>>47043305
When Eidolon gets his groove back Scion shuts him down by saying "You needed worthy opponents" that could be taken to mean that if he hadn't needed a way to show off his powers so bad that the Endbringers might never have shown up
>>
>>47043052
Just to make it clear how ridiculous Eidolon's power is if you tried to manipulate him like that he would simply obtain the power to resist such manipulations, his powers are literally whatever he needs at the time.
>>
>>47043227
Both, the sex is typically very much interwoven with the rest of the story. Hell it's interwoven throughout the setting.

The MCs' nation is basically hippy free love(plus fetishes) applied to medieval France. Their religion is that as Jesus died on the cross his blood entered the earth and the earth gave birth to their primary god, who proceeded to seduce every angel sent after him, and everyone else he met. The angels and I think one of the apostles(who unlike everyone else remained chaste) went to pseudo gaul, and proceeded to fuck everyone, literally everyone in the nation is descended from these beings who are now their gods. Well then those gods made their own heaven, and an adjacently located hell(masochist heaven). Then you get to the nobles of the land, who are typically the people most closely related to their gods, and have slight supernatural abilities related to their god, and the fetishes of that god. Their society largely revolves around sex.
>>
>>47043305
Eh.

I guess.

Still, having an Eidolon that's actually stable and the possibility that taking down the current Endbringers won't make more is better than what canon had.

>>47043317

>>
>>47043358
Showing off isn't the issue. He knows the Entities are an extinction event in progress, and he also knows he's Cauldron's most potent answer to that threat.

Jesus is seen as an important deity in their religion, as is god, and gaia. Lucifer though doesn't seem to exist. Closest thing to Lucifer may actually be Kushiel if only for the hell association, and him being the angel of punishment that became the god of masochist heaven.

The Nature Spirit perk is the latter, it allow you to create a rudimentary intelligence in a plant that get more complex the more of them there are (for really big concentrations of them, expect to get something like Eiwa from Avatar, but with the personality of this jump's Forest).

>>47043521
Eidolon's a pretty down-to-earth guy, he just has no idea how his powers work, and the feedback he gets from them gives him the entirely wrong impression.

He thinks that his power makes powers, and feels like he's close to a breakthrough on potency and control when he's pushed to his limits. Subconsciously, this calls up the Endbringers.

How his power actually works is it phones a few friends to help its host, overclocking them to make sure the job gets done. Heavy use kills the shards, which is why he's steadily losing power over time.

The only person who knows this in canon is Glastig Uaine, and she is a certifiably insane villain, so it takes a long time for the knowledge to get back to Eidolon. In the meantime, he's got the figurative weight of the world on his shoulders and tries to work with what he thinks he knows. It goes badly.
>>
>>47043502

And yes walking volcanoes are a thing in-jump (the volcano housing / powering the E.S.T.O.C project literally rise up and starts walking)

>>47043550
Well the scond perk was meant to be similar to 'Erudition' from Halo, which give you a lot of knowledge of Past Earth's science but sadly we don't much of that in the film, and the first perk essentially give you the blueprints to a lot of Ragna's science, but same as previous except for the mentioned walking tanks and hugeass factories, we don't see much.

I don't really keep a theme in the first place.
>>
>>47043871
My theme is "Out of Context Problem"
>>
>>47036818
Light of Terra.

I'm also starting Age of Ice, any advice?
>>
>>47043871
I become the straight man.
>>
>>47043871
Depends on how powerful I am compared to the world.

Early on I always made a point out of fitting in, but now that I have the Alexandria Package in addition to FISS 5 and Epic Level in multiple caster classes, I can have all the fun fucking with everyone I meet in 75% of the jumps available.
>>
Should there be a rule against learning Wish in D&D jumps?
>>
>>47043871
.......
I would fit in.
My companion will desire to raise havoc and thus draw me to those shenanigans that happen.
And replace confusion with....carnage.
>>
>>47040713
>The Darkness (though a top cow-verse might work)
>40k: Necrons
>40k: Tyranids
>Gamer
>>47043871
I don't have a theme. I'm Jumper themed.

That said, If i can, i will introduce alcohol, rock music, and a hedonistic mindset to the setting.
>>
>>47043980
Nope.
>>
>>47043980
If you did that, wouldn't you have to make a rule against learning spells in general?
>>
>>47044000
A gamer jump would be awesome.
>>
>>47044018
I mean that particular BS spell specifically.
>>
>>47043980
Why should there be?
>>
>>47043980
Nah.

The Benefactor pretty much is the Jumper's DM, so even though I've got Wishes/Miracles/Reality Revisions for days, actually using them for anything other than what they're said to do is just begging for 300 CP Drawback-tier shenanigans.

Maybe other people would wank otherwise, but if they're gonna do that, taking Wish away just means they'll use overuse something else for cosmic power.
>>
>>47044048
Wish just does what other spells do, but you don't have to prepare lots of different kinds. It's no stronger than any other spell in DnD, just more versatile.
>>
>>47044023
Yeah, but general consensus has that it shouldn't have the ability to become The Gamer, else it would quickly become 'Be The Gamer or you'll get a sub-optimal build' which would make it a nightmare to balance. Beside i think its still ongoing as as such any major change would possibly retcon a lot of stuff.
>>
>>47043980
>http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/wish.htm
Wish already has limits. It's not some retarded Do Whatever You Want Without Limits spell.
>>
>>47044049
Because you can use it to wish for ANYTHING, there are no limits to that spell and with sufficient rules lawyering you can do literally anything with it, and that is only necessary if you are wanking a malevolent DM.
>>
>>47044097
See: >>47044080

You're wrong.
>>
>>47044080
>>47044080
>you may try to use a wish to produce greater effects than these, but doing so is dangerous. (The wish may pervert your intent into a literal but undesirable fulfillment or only a partial fulfillment.)

Yes it is, DMs have to rules lawyer and malevolently twist your wish to keep it from being scenario breaking.
>>
>>47044161
Look, I get it, you want to stir shit up for some reason but can you please just not? Log off, walk away, go jerk off or exercise or something to get whatever this is out of your system.

Hysterics and shit-stirring are of limited entertainment value, and we get enough of it organically that we don't need anyone to create more for the sake of surplus.
>>
>>47043397
As a note, she's legitimately dangerous, like 'Hakurei Reimu has her eye on you and is prepared to kill you' dangerous. The thing is, there's a Rule Reimu herself holds sacred, Youkai are Youkai, Humans are Humans, anything that crosses that line is an abomination.

Considering that the MC is showing signs of sliding towards being a Youkai, thanks in part to a certain Tanuki...well, let's say that she's in for an interesting time.
>>
>>47042623
Looks good to me. Question though: If we don't purchase God-Tier will we ever be able to reach the height of our classpect powers or are we locked at low level manifestations.
>>
>>47044235
Yeah, Reimu is a bit of a retard.
>>
>>47043438
Because there could come that one time you push too far, the Spell Card System is something that keeps things civil, but it can be ignored. At the risk of incurring Reimu's anger though.
>>
>>47044251
The heights are something you can get with practise, through not the artificially enhanced things like Jade's cueball planets.
>>
>>47044251
>>47044313
Oh, but to expand on that... God Tiers would still be more versatile and be able to call on their powers much more easily through.

Compare John's ability to do the Windy Thing when pushed enough without God Tier, and the ease with which he did so afterwards and all the extra powers he got later.
>>
>>47044266
Why did you think I was saying that?

Reimu's been watching the MC to see what she would do, and if she takes that final step, then that's it.

MC gets exterminated.
>>
>>47042829
a mix of Discordia Cannon, two companions with Sting, going Tonberry in killing bites and conceptual dickery. that EX item creation was a good investment when I was doing the build for Leonardo da Vinci as a servant.
>>
>>47044235
It really depends on whether she's genre savvy enough to befreind Reimu before she becomes hostile. Reimu's enough of a hypocrite to be host demons, celestials and monsters, and even allow situations like Immaterial and Missing Power without going deus vult, yet as long as she doesn't know them she rules it fine to do her impression of Abraham van fucking Hellsing. She just has to defeat Reimu with social-fu and all will be well.
>>
>>47042517
Now what would be the most effective way to teach my swarm of minions shape-shifting and emotional control Powers? I want them to work as tiny agents infiltrating my enemies minds
>>
>>47044398
So what you're saying is that Reimu is a horrible shrine maiden who's only doing the job because no other human can stand up to the youkai?
>>
>>47044490
Her job is only to guard the barrier between Gensokyo and the rest of the world, not slaughter humans for becoming witches or whatever.
>>
>>47044515
>even allow situations like Immaterial and Missing Power

The Emprah would not approve.
>>
>>47044398
Not even.

She's already friendly with the shrine maiden, but in a conversation she had with Marisa, Reimu made it clear that if she ever became a Youkai, she'll be exterminated.

Humans are Humans, Youkai are Youkai. End of story.
>>
>>47044575
She's very much a saboteur of her own kind, really. Always remain an underclass, always remain prey.
>>
>>47044515
She's the Shrine Maiden of Gensoukyo, that's her job. It's not that she's good at it or bad, she's just very...'meh' about her duties. Something that her shrine's god is furious about.
>>
>>47044617
My point is just that her murdering humans for becoming youkai is mainly her own idiotic morality more than anything she's required to do.
>>
>>47044000
>>The Darkness (though a top cow-verse might work)
>>40k: Necrons

>>Gamer

Why even live.

>>47044074
What would be the problem with the Gamer? It's been a while since I last read it, but aside from quick growing potential, it wasn't by far the strongest power in the setting.

You could just have a mandatory scary drawback like the Speedtester in arrowverse.
>>
>>47044617
>>47044575

Being "meh" about it is objectively saying she's a shit shrine maiden.

The whole situation in Gensokyo pisses me off.
>>
>>47044642
well we don't really know much about the universe of the gamer, so it's hard to build a jump for it
>>
>>47044642
I have never read The Gamer, but from what I've heard of it, it's the infinite potential.

Sure, we already have Perks that let us train beyond the natural limits of stuff, but they stress the fact that you're working your ass off for minor gains. Far as I know, The Gamer has no such scaling or a level cap, and can plain make up new powers and abilities if he tries hard enough.
>>
>>47044642
Sadly i don't recall the full argument so i won't be able to present convincing evidence for that.
>>
>>47044766
Not sure if there's a level cap, but he definitely slows down as he levels.
>>
>>47044355
>>47044575
Extermination is just whapping Youkai upside the head and saying "stop it," though.
>>
>>47044766
Leveling up slows down as you get higher up in most games and I imagine the same would be true for The Gamer power.

/JC/ what's the best Jump to find and kill a dragon like picture related? D&D had similar Dragons but they're all pretty weak. Spyro is more westernized, but I'm looking for more Asian type dragon. It'll be for Terraformars/Bloody Roar/Killing Bites.
>>
>>47043871

I'm usually pretty spooky scary monstery, where the setting mostly dictates my approach. Whether that means becoming some sort of local boogeyman or some sort of monster in human form, theatrics are rather important to me. Basically, I try to fit in in my own way.

Hmm...
>>
>>47044610
No, she's stopping a worse disaster.

And plus, look at Marisa, a human magic user, has tangled with a lot of the beings Reimu has. No beef there.

>>47044631
I don't think you quite get how youkai work.

Youkai are monsters, creatures that feed on the fear that humans have for them. Humans must not become that, it's not a matter of 'morality' or 'saboteur', there's a divide that cannot be crossed. It's something I can't quite explain, but from what I understand there's a delicate balance in play in Gensoukyo, as long as humans and youkai understand where they belong.

>>47044722
Yeah, she's not very driven, right up until she's given a reason, like the time she helped Remilia's plan to go to the moon by basically metaphorically brushing off the dust in her skills to the point where she was able to consistently summon gods of travel for three or so days iirc.

She created and enforces the Spell Card System that allows everyone in Gensoukyo to theoretically play on a level playing field and to non-lethally resolve conflicts.

>>47044829
In the games, yes, and those are against new comers or beings who don't know the pecking order or beings who have legitimate grievances or who are controlled by someone/something else or are simply speed bumps.

She can and will destroy a Youkai if they go too far or break a taboo (human to youkai transformation in Gensoukyo), apparently it's an easy step for her as she commands the Hakurei Border and has the power to float.

Reimu, in a way, is like Nara Shikamaru, a genius but lazy and unconcerned until she has to act, but even then, she's measured in her responses and can be utterly ruthless. Her disconnection from a lot of Gensoukyo doesn't help either, sometimes the Youkai find her alien...it's crazy.
>>
>>47045073
>there's a divide that cannot be crossed

So the strong gotta rule the weak, eh?

>stopping a worse disaster

What, other than the one caused by supernatural monsters preying on humanity?

>Spell Card System

"theoretically" is the operative word.

This is fucking stupid. The place deserves to be nuked.
