That's how tuck works in paper EDH as well now. They changed that rule a good while ago. Yes, it's fucking stupid.

Why the fuck is this card so expensive?
>>
>>46211676
looks really strong to me, anon
>>
Kinda off topic, but I can't seem to find a straight Answer... So I have a question. I'm running a green white EDH commander deck. I want to put the new colorless Eldrazi in it, my question becomes, the new colorless mana doesn't give them a color identity right? that only happens if they have an actual color??
>>
>>46211676
>being able to regenerate everything on your board you can pay for
p good card

Also based Ferguson art
>>
>>46211691
>3 mana for anthem
>regenerate is B in a 5-color deck

I don't see a reason why. Like, I really don't. It's double the price when compared to Pulmonic Sliver, which is from the same set.

>>46211740
There are 2 other good Slivers that let you regenerate, and one doesn't even cost mana.
>>
>>46211725
They are colorless. The ONLY thing that has changed about the way colorless mana is used now is that it can be included in casting costs, and has a mana symbol. Nonbasics tapping for {1} now tap for <>. That's it. It's not as hard as everyone made it out to be.
>>
>>46211725
Correct. Eldrazis color identity is Colorless and can fit into most commander decks.

Actually, now that I.think about it, is there any legal commander that can't have colorless cards?
>>
>>46211764
Way better to tap B and keep it on the field than fucking up your draw for at least a turn

The flying on Pulmonic is nice though
>>
>>46211771
Okay that's what I figured. Thank you for the clarification
>>
>>46211676
>never reprinted
>in the most popular casual tribal

it's price reflects that, it's not like it's Snapcaster levels of never reprinted.
>>
>>46211809
How are you going to generate so much B in a 5-color? It becomes a hefty task when you have 3+ slivers, and you should be doing something with all that mana anyway.
Pulmonic also has a 'may' clause, so it can only fuck up your draws if you get Mindslaved.

>>
>>46211764
because pulmonic sliver is shit lol
>>
>>46211654
It's because people feel bad when they get their commander tucked.

I'm not making shit up, it's the actual reason they changed the rules. Well, one of the reasons. Other brilliant ones included "it's forcing everyone to play blue or white" and "it's forcing people to run tutors to get their commanders back".

I can't believe you missed that shitstorm.
>>
>>46211852
But that can be said about most slivers, and it's double the price when compared to some actually good slivers. It just doesn't add up.

Please stop.
We've been over this.
>Commanders with hexproof/shroud/flicker/etc. are more powerful by default with the existence of tuck.
Narset? Stronger? Stop.
>It promotes running decks with commanders that aren't overly important. Otherwise anyone with a budget can't make a deck by virtue of needing to dump loads of dosh into tutors and protection--taking up card slots and taking out wallets.
I hate fun, too.
>It has no purpose flavor-wise in the format. Commander was created with the ability to put your commander into the command zone for a reason. The goal was to be able to build a deck around one card. Tuck was not an anticipated thing at the time of EDH's creation, and as such no rule was implemented to address it. Tuck was a loophole in the rules, NOT an intentionally created weakness for generals.
Fuck off with your tuck circle jerking. It doesn't make sense in the format, and if you choose to play with tuck in your meta, you're going to have worthless decks anywhere else you go.

Only happened to me once though, and I've saved tons of money using ebay. Picked up a Crucible of worlds for 50$ the other day saving me at least 20.
>>
>>46211963
>We've been over this
Yes we have, and the tuck rules change is as retarded now as it was then. I don't see your point.
>>
>>46211798
>Actually, now that I.think about it, is there any legal commander that can't have colorless cards?
Every commander can run any card with a colorless color identity.
Pedantic aside: colorless cards do not necessarily have colorless color identity, see Bosh, Eldrazi Displacer, etc.

The techiest thing I could find is probably something like Nantuko Cultivator, Edge of Autumn, Greenseeker, Realms Uncharted, Constant Mists, Harrow, Squirrel Wrangler, Sylvan Safekeeper, Worldbreaker.

I wasn't going to keep looking, but there ya go.

Also, unrelated, but I finally found some cards that work well with Geist and I threw together a decklist. It is trash at the moment, hardly any utility, a lot of redundant theme cards, but fuck is it fun and surprisingly cool for a UW deck.

Thinking some more on this, playing around Krosan Grip means you're no longer playing around things like Swords to Plowshares, right? If you make the Triskelion ping itself, hold priority and remove the rest of its counters to damage other targets, it's going to come back from a Krosan Grip but it gives your opponents the perfect opening to Swords to Plowshares it. Which is generally much scarier than Krosan Grip. Is there some other ordering I'm not thinking about?

Honestly, this is the easiest thing in the world to look up. Just search for a good ability in colorless and white. If you are particularly saucy, you could check lands too, as magiccards.info seperates lands and other colorless.

Check the number of printings of it out there.

Hydra Omnivore was like, 18 bucks before Conspiracy.

A lot of stuff that was printed solely in Commander is like that. Look at Collective Voyage, 12 bucks. It is because no one thinks to keep copies of these trash cards around after cracking open these things and then four years down the line when Johnny Fuckwits wants to mess with cards that no one else has bothered to, he can't get his hands on a copy.

I know, because I am frequently Johnny Fuckwits in this scenario. That's why I always end up buying all the commander or planechase or whatever releases.

A sliver deck in modern did well once. This is one of the few rares in the deck so it was targeted by speculators and never dropped. Silvers will always have a following in casual and EDH.so it was a relatively safe card to speculate since it was cheap.

Speculators love taxing the shit out of tribal decks. Look at Warren Instigator when Piledriver was announced and now Legion Loyalist. has sky rocketed.

Now Primal Beyond is another victim since Elemental tribal become more popular with Rage Omnath.

Note that you need to alternate between two fatties for Feed the Pack to work. Both abilities go on the stack at the same time, so creatures that are on the battlefield (that can be sacrificed to FtP) aren't eligible targets for Meren's ability.

Gisa can just sac in the second main and that's fine.

But if Meren is on the stack first and then Feed the pack second, feed the pack resolves and there's a dude in the graveyard, why wouldn't Meren be able to target it?

Is it because Meren is already supposed to have a target while Feed the Pack resolves?

Yes. Meren needs a target declared when her ability goes on the stack, and since they both go on the stack at the same time, there's no way to finagle it so that you can bring back the dude you sac. If she didn't have the word "target" in there, it would work though. Still strong; you're not going to have trouble keeping an extra fatty in your yard.

I have two noob questions:
1) When I cast an exiled spell with Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge, is the spell "expended", or can I continue casting it from exile for ever as long as it got there?

2) Can I play stuff like Izzet Boilerworks turn one, since I have no other lands but the card's text does not sound like it's a prerequisite.
>>
>>46219085
When you cast the spell with Jeleva, you put it in the graveyard on resolution, which means you get to cast it once with her ability.

If you play Boilerworks on T1, you still have to bounce a land. Guess what land that is.

The options are Meren or Newzuri. Meren is a great commander with lots of recursion, and one of the strongest out of the box. I think it'd be rather cheap to upgrade her if you wanted to.

Newzuri focuses on small creatures to rack up experience counters in order to buff these creatures to ridiculous sizes. He can easily be dealt with and doesn't offer immediate value like Meren does. Still, he's pretty strong and comes with Kaseto, which could be an interesting commander to build around later on.

It's up to you in the end, do you prefer big creatures or lots of recursion?

I think I should add Gisela to Basandra. She didn't make the cut originally because she was too mean or more likely, because I was scared someone would reanimate her or bribery me and then I'd get fucked. But she fits the concept so well.

Rosheen was the second EDH deck I ever made all by myself. She's the only deck that has survived this long. I have trouble changing it though, they print an X spell in every set but I only have so many slots. It pained me to cut Firecat Blitz. Pained me.

My problem with Horde is that when I made it I set out to kill two birds with one stone. Be my first tribal deck and be my first five color. The reason I wanted five color is because I wanted to run stuff like Rise // Fall in the same deck as Hide // Seek.

But now, there's becoming less and less elementals in the deck. I haven't even found room for new Omnath.

I might have to bite the bullet and cut the Hondens. The fact that I win more often via their repeatable advantage rather than elementals is a bit amusing and a bit sad.

>>46220676
Gisela is great but yes she is one of those cards that is scarier in enemy hands, I flip-flop on Iona and Big Avancyn in Razia for the same reason.

One big aspect of RW that is super fun and worth including if you aren't already using it is Sunforger. Its a super versatile tool that really shores up some of the weaknesses. If you include Tithe and Mistveil plains you can loop other instants (Boros Charm, Wear/Tear STP, Laspe of Certainty etc..) every turn super easily

My problem with Sunforger, as with a lot of really saucy cards is that it eats up a loooot of card slots that could otherwise be theme cards. Like, when I am choosing utility, I pick fits mechanical theme first and then if I have slots left over or just absolutely need better answers, I add more utility. But when I also have the restrictions imposed by something like Sunforger or Isochron, it just ends up being too limiting. You know?

By the time you're allowed to KGrip, there are no counters on Trike. The problem, as others have stated, is that you are far more vulnerable to having Trike sworded because you can't kill your Trike in response. That point is irrelevant because if you have swords, you should be exiling Mikaeus while Trike is in the graveyard.

I'd say tuck spells took a really big hit with the rules change. Some like Chaos Warp are now very risky because you can no longer safely use them on commanders due to scenarios like the above. Others like Condemn have just become very weak compared to other forms of removal. There are a handful still worth running, like Terminus, but overall, the viability of tuck spells went down the drain.

Holy fuck 500 American pounds. I want to die. I don't think I will ever manage to part with that much money at once.

By the way, I have another retarded question.

I am considering also building around Teysa cause she's a qt, either Envoy of Ghosts or Scion. Now, they are both Teysa but have different names and abilities. Is it legal to use them simultaneously, since the actual card name is different?

If yes, which one would you prefer as a general - Scion or Envoy? My bet is the former.
>>
>>46222359
>>46225013
Oh, also, Jeleva anon, what do you think of the precon Jeleva deck? Worth it or not really, considering that I already have the woman herself.
>>
>>46225013

Don't let the price deter you. A lot of that is fetchlands, but there is Force of Will and Snapcaster. You don't need them have a deck that is capable of winning. 59 cards are less than $2, 16 are less than $5, and only 9 are $20+. There's a lot of jank in the deck because I play a lot of bounce to keep casting Jeleva for 4.

As for Teysa, I have played both, and yes you can use both at the same time. They are technically the same character, but they are differently named. This is not true for Planeswalkers because it's based on their type.

Scion largely considered the best one because she combos very well and very easily. Darkest Hour + sac outlet is infinite (note that you can't sac them to Teysa because none of the spirits are white anymore). I played her as mostly Human tribal with an Angel of Glory's rise combo, which is actually now my Saffi deck.

However, Envoy is solid, though many won't agree. She's expensive, but is a good finisher. I basically ran BW exile control and dropped her late game when I felt safe. Things like Pariah(Shield) keep you safe from combat damage, which is nice.

>>46225072

It's... Ok. There's not much synergy for Jeleva in the deck itself. She really wants a lot of spells, and the precon is a little light. Plus, they are hard to find at a good price because it has a True Name Nemesis, which is a legacy staple.

Honestly, you might be better off buying the UR precon from last year of you want a precon, but I'd honestly say just get singles. Take a look at my deck again and lost them by price to see what cheap singles I use.

It's edh night at the LGS. Help me out /edhg/, I can't get my Zurgo to run well. What are some must have cards?

Would this be a better card than Blind Obedience? Or maybe I should switch out depending on the number of players?

Blind Obedience seems like enough for the cost. This seems like it comes in too late but also will have you hate targeted out of the game.

>tfw your group allows the Kamigawa flip cards as generals
So fucking fun, I wish more groups allowed this. Bushi Tenderfoot is GOAT Voltron
>>
>>46226012
It depends on what you use it for , kismet and frozen aether are both great at slowing the entire game down for your opponents , blind obedience just kind of nullifies haste, the artifacts entering tapped comes up alot in my games , fast mana not so fast if it etbs tapped

Whose the superior commander for a Mardu goodstuff/aggro deck? Zurgo or Alesha? I figure one can go in the 99 no matter what but the commander I pick will shape the deck. I just don't want to go full Zurgo + Worldslayer or Alesha combo.
>>
>>46226789
Just realized that "target player" on that card is outdated text. That makes it significantly more playable.
>>
>>46227165
Alesha definitely, combos out the ass.

See that's the problem, I don't want to go full combo. I just want a nice Mardu aggro deck.
>>
>>46227165
Neither of them is particularly goodstuff-y, even Tariel or Kaalia would be better at generic goodstuff things. That said, of the two, I'd pick Zurgo. He doesn't demand building around as much as Alesha, he has a bigger dick, and he doesn't really care what other cards you run alongside him if you're only using him to punch for 7 once in a while.
>>
>>46227230
Then do good stuff but Zurgo is control/combo.
>>
>>46227247
I guess Boros charm + Jokulhaups is a combo.
>>
>>46227277
Zurgo and Wrath is a combo.

>he has a bigger dick
Objection, we don't know the canon sizes of their penises. While convention dictates that Zurgo as a beefy bara orc would have a larger cock than the twinky trap human you have to keep in mind that Alesha also comes from warrior stock and isn't on hormones. Their cock could very easily rival if not dwarf Zurgo's if only by body size ratio.

Source: I'm a penis expert and have been involved in hundreds of penis day inspections from both a local school level and pre-Senatorial meeting cock inspections.

Zurgo is a 7 and a grower, Alesha is a flat 3. Their ass is the same size though.
>>
>>46227368
Oh shoot I meant spells that add counters not actual counter spells.
>>
>>46227378
Objection, power has never been a relevant measure of cock size. Olivia Voldaren has been shown to have the largest visible dick in any card art and she's a 3.
>>
>>46227305
Not really a 'game winning' combo that orients a deck in such a way to warrant calling it a 'combo' deck.
>>
>>46227368
>Almost all tribal
A bit dull, desu. If you want to have your cards to interact with each other, there are other, more interesting ways to do it. Same if it's flavor you're after.
>>
>>46227410
She's also a grower, read the fucking cards.

Further proof: Jace is a 0/2 and actually a woman.

I'm willing to concede the argument in light of this new evidence.
