I know this is a pathfinder thread but I was unable to find a 3.5 thread so I was gonna ask here.

I'm interested in making a mage sniper class in case my character dies. So as it stands I'm looking at
Kobold
Spellthief 1/ Sorc 5 then either spellwarp sniper or unseen seer
What do you guys think? Spellwarp Sniper or Unseen seer?

Holy moly I didn't realize just how hard this campaign was going to crash and burn.

I mean I guess I knew from the first session, but it just devolved into a freaky PvP where I had to cut down a player and just walk away from the table.

Has a short sword always been piercing only? I remember only seeing it be slashing only, but when I was browsing Archives of Nethys and D20PFSRD it looks like it's Piercing only. Have I been looking at it wrong all this time? Did Paizo errata it?

>>46168306

For the record, this was that gestalt campaign from way back when that I was constantly bugging /pfg/ about, the one with me playing a Zweihander Sentinel/Oracle (Apocalypse) that turned out to be a Necropolitan.

Well, after slogging through three railroaded sessions with an alright GM but absolutely terrible players (I'm talking "one's a shark skinwalker that's always in half-shark form and another owns her collar" tier bad) it came to a head when my character's undead-edness was revealed.

Well, I've already been making a name for myself as the resident asshole by constantly criticizing the... Odd choices in things to push by the other players (such as the Kitsune insisting she get gang-banged by some tentacle monsters) so when my character pulled off the mask and showed his face was a rotten skeleton, the shark-girl decided it was now or never and initiated combat - some bullshit about how she was going to eat him to seal his evil (she claimed some Aasimar in there... Somewhere.)

Considering she was a choppily built Slayer/Brawler and I was using PoW content, you could see where this was going. My character cut hers down, her fuckbuddy tried to backstab me, he got cut down, and when the two players were bitching on Skype I just said, "fuck this" and left the call, unfriended the lot, left the game and never looked back sense.

I'm still trying to calm down from it all.

This is actually just me theorycrafting a character and considering different combinations. Just wanting the fluff of Agathian/Idyllkin pun intended and using the base Aasimar was mostly just because Psychic Armory is Wis-based. I have no idea how the Eidolon suit would actually interact with a Panalopy of Blades.

>Be noodle-armed awoo with no idea what the fuck he's doing or what's going on, just knows he can summon swords and transform into a giant wolf
>Take required feats for Psychic Armory, dump evolution points into defenses and mobility
>if there's a spare feat and evolution points, toss some backup natural attacks with power attack in there for kicks
>completely ignore summon monster SLAs, barely pay attention to summoner spellcasting

I become far too dedicated to memes.
>>
>>46168281
I'd go for unseen seer, that way you can add the ranger spell to get an additional +6d6 sneak attack. Although, actually, spellwarp sniper is probably better for a sorcerer base.
>>
>>46168567
Because Readying an Action specifies that you can't move more than 5 feet during a round in which you ready an action, but since the movement would be in response to the triggering action, it seems fuzzy

That wolf, The Great Grey Wolf Sif, was the faithful comrade of Sir Artorias the Abysswalker, but when Sir Artorias was consumed by the Abyss and died, Did took his sword and used it to fight and avenge his master. After Artorias was avenged, a grave was erected in his honor, and so did continued to use his blade to guard his master's Tomb, and to protect all from obtaining the power of Abysswalking, so that none else may fall and be consumed like his master before.

The Huldra are woodland spirits that typically take the form of beautiful young women, the only thing revealing their true nature being a tail (hidden under a skirt), a hollow back, and sometimes lynx ears.

The thing about a Huldra is never *ever* mentioning the tail, and those who can see it without actually saying they saw it are awarded with aid from the Huldra.

Unless the man is unfaithful to her, in which case she's prone to tearing him apart.

Alchemist? Vivisectionist because you're going to have no bombs, and if you start with a 12 Int and dump all the leveling points into Int you should be able to cast all your spells at the appropriate levels. Plus since you don't have DCs for anything relevant your relatively low Int isn't as much of a hindrance. Then you just buff yourself and go into combat.
>>
>>46169181
Nah, they went with the (maybe true anyways) rumor that Tsarina Alexandra was banging Rasputin. Anastasia is his daughter, and thus Baba Yaga's grand-daughter, and thus a rival to Elvanna's claim on the throne, which is why Rasputin's gone out of his way to hide her and keep Alexandra's ghost locked up.

Paladin/Oracle is the undisputed god of gestalt combinations.

Slayer/Investigator turns you into Geralt of Rivia.

Brawler/Barbarian makes you the coolest Brawlbarian to ever brawl.

Cavalier/Paladin, become the holy knight you've always wanted to be.
>>
The Land of the Linnorm Kings is based on several nordic nations, right? Viking culture in general? What exactly is it that fascinates /pfg/ so with it?

It was good when it was just fighting ghosts and occasionally having slice-of-life school stuff. It was even good when we met all the other Shinigami and their kooky swords. This was many years ago. Now it is a manga that had a filler arc.
>>
>>46169911
Depends on what you want to do. Some solid all-rounder ones are:

Stalker/Vitalist
Warlord or Paladin/Oracle
Warder/Alchemist
Druid/Mystic YOU TOO CAN BE A POLAR BEAR FIRE BENDER
>>
>>46169940
Psychic is crap.
>>46169911
Wizard//Sage Sorcerer and Oracle//Paladin or Antipaladin are great. Cleric or Druid//Empyreal Sorcerer is also good.

If 3PP is allowed, the strongest possible combination is probably Psychic Mage Wizard//Collegiate Initiate Arcanist, since you can snag almost to all the good spells and powers from the Psion, Wizard, Cleric, and Druid spell lists.

Well, I think a part of it is that it's undoubtedly a MAN'S WORLD. Parties under level 5 are advised to stay the fuck out of the country, and rulers are chosen based on who's ballsy enough to go out and murder a fucking Linnorm in single combat.
>>
>>46169911
AntiPaladin / Dread
roles: intimidation, party face, crowd control (built properly, any enemy fighting an antipali/dread will suffer sicken, shaken, fatigued, poisoned, nauseated, frightened, panicked and dazed")

Paladin / Lore Oracle
roles: party face. supreme tank (CHA to saves and AC. Oracle spell list throws in even more defense spells)

Construct Rider / Siege Mage
roles: party crafter. Build an Iron Man suit, Baymax, Zoid, Gundam, whatever

Spellslinger / Hexcrafter Eldritch Archer
roles: kill fucking everything with named bullet + disintegrate combo
>>
>>46169947

It's Scandinavian culture in general, though I'm getting some slight Norman vibes from White Estrid and Danish from Sveinn Blood-Eagle.

/pfg/ loves it because it's one of the few regions in Pathfinder, probably the *only* region in Pathfinder, that was given the thorough combing treatment by Paizo and actually came out BETTER, which is amazing since normally Paizo's comb-overs ruin the area they're focusing on.

It's a region built on numerous concepts /pfg/ loves, such as heroes being treated as heroes, reputation being a legitimate game mechanic, and a detailed thralldom system allowing players to actually steal "people" during raids for wealth and fame.

Plus it's the land of buxom blondes.

Mostly because he can make his own pocket dimension with lusty tarts in barely-there dresses, I suppose.
>>
>>46170456

The truth is complicated.

The Ulfen value above all else that people follow through with the spirit of their values and traditions, rather than simply following them. For example, by law any man that shows up with a Linnorm Head to a city may proclaim themselves Linnorm King. This is their right, one that Opir Eightfingers and Sveinn Blood-Eagle have both done. However, Opir Eightfingers showed up to Jol with a rotten head all alone, ignoring many of the assumed rules of the Linnorm Hunt which, while not technically illegal, defeats the *spirit* of the hunt. For this reason Opir is seen as the least of the Linnorm Kings, more sniveling worm than man.

On the flipside, Sveinn is seen as a living legend by the Ulfen because he performed his hunt in full view of third parties, following every rule of the hunt to the letter, and defeating a Linnorm in fair combat. He did the same thing Opir did, but since he did it "proper" he is seen as a "proper" king.

That is what the Ulfen value.

>Lusty tart in barely-there dress

He doesn't actually, he's shown being incapable of using weapons without his magic armor that grants him proficiency, so it's less like magic armor and more like a body-slot Transformation item.

The point was that it doesn't have to be cast at the same time as the original spell.

Except the rules do say it's allowed. The description of permanency states "The GM may allow other spells to be made permanent." It's not people just saying "The GM can do whatever they want.", it is specifically listed in the spell in question that you can talk to your GM about getting spells other than the ones listed made permanent.

If it's made of metal, though (or if reshaping it once counts as "destroying" it, even though it's only temporary), then teleport object should do the trick. Teleport the chest five feet to the left, leaving everything inside it on the ground.

Unchained never seemed like it did anything momentous (besides apparently nerfing Superstition from "Roll against friendly spells while raging" back to "roll against friendly spells period")-and adding boosts directly to attack/damage instead of STR doesn't feel like it saves much time or effort. Overall, I'd go with Chained.
