It knocks off two mana from corlorless spell costs, making it possible to cast Endless one, Eldrazi mimic, and Chalice for free on Turn 1.
And when you think about just how much mana it knocks off of every Eldrazi card, the value that you gain is insanely broken.

Some people would rather have mirrors than bullcrap or diceroll mathups. Eldrazi may not be that, but assuming there could be a tier 0 deck that rewarded only the most skilled player and was hard to use, some people may prefer that to diversity.

Then it becomes even more of a diceroll, because draw order is inherently random. You can smooth it out, but there's still more luck in it. Matchups between two very different decks are usually more skill-testing because the best line of play isn't always evident.

Imo diverse is what you get when you play casualy, when you play for fun you can have whatever you want it doesn't matter. But when you make it competitive with money on the line people are going to play what wins or at least has the highest chance to win that they can afford. And after a while everyone knows what the best decks are and so if you want to win you play those. Before the twin and bloom bans if you look at the top 8 lists there are i think 7 or 8 decks maybe more that were getting into the top 8. With the pt top 8 there were two. So with the next event people are either going to be playing eldrazi, or trying to beat eldrazi. And that is pretty shitty and going against what they say they want with diversity. It could be that no one thought eldrazi was going to be a real contender so there wasnt enough hate to keep it down. Even on here everyone thought it was going to be tron vs affinity vs infect vs burn so if the people at the pt thought similarly then why botherwasting deck space on a meme deck. In any case we will see with the next pt. probably on the smaller tourneys as well we will see what the other decks do to compete with eldrazi. It could get hit with a ban too so there is that.

The only mono-white deck that's gonna get shit done for you is hatebears. If you want to do Boros (which I commend you for) just drop the soldier shtick and use the actual good cards. There are some absolutely modern-playable Boros watermark cards in Boros Charm and Boros Reckoner, off the top of my head. Any deck that can comfortably run 4 bolts, 4 paths, and lightning helix should do okay.

Recruit all the kids. Pull out your big marketing meme dick and sell it as "speed chess but actually fun for kids" to the library staff, get a biweekly slot, then sell the idea as an after-school mindsport.

Do your homework, get the kids onboard.
Sleeve up 20 or so different Pauper decks (proxy if you're 2poor) and hand them out at events
Foot the bill to print out MtG strategic and tactical articles, make sure a few of the kids get hooked on the tourneyfag aspect. Get them to recruit even more.
Try to broker some support from Wizards of the Synagogue, anonymously at first. A little prize support goes a long way, but unsanctioned might be a dealbreaker for the Rabbis. Spin it as educational small-town CSR, something to pretty up PR
Take the smart kids and pull 'em out. Introduce them to the level beyond pauper, a world of uncommons and rares. A world of legacy
