Nerves of Steel on all of them, Dump Off on at least one of them. This makes your running game absolutely bonkers, because your ability to move the ball even on their turn is absolutely retarded. I like Safe Throw on the Dump Off player as well, since it it means that they can't depend on a interception to stop your dump.
Fend is a good secondary choice, because the more Fend your team has, the better Fend is.
Pro is good on one of them, it's a cheap as shit reroll.
Bret running is honestly the most interesting running team in the game, I think. Everyone who says Pass access is wasted on them is way too stuck in the rut of more traditional roles.

It's not especially gimmicky though.
Out of the box, all the Blitzes make for good runners, so running plays work well for them. And given they're making all your touchdowns, it's not hard getting the SPP on them. Really, you only need one to get to level 2 and the others at 1 to have the whole strategy set, everything else just makes it better.
It also ties into what the rest of the team does for Brets, that is, tying them all down. With Wrestle on a couple Peasants and Fend on your Blockers, your team is exceptionally good at preventing the enemy team from moving, letting you make and keep the kind of lanes you need to get the runners moving.

Really Stupid players are amazing value. Trolls have AV 9 and regen and only cost 110K. BoN has 9AV, foul appearance, disturbing presence, and tentacles and only costs 140K.
All 3 wild animals are AV 8 with frenzy (which IMO is part of wild animal) and cost 150K (except the snow troll who is 140K). They are all shit value and force you to waste a blitz and may harm your position with frenzy. Where as Really Stupid pieces are great value and make great road blocks.

The teams that have Really Stupid big guys almost all need them, the only one that doesn't is Orcs. Teams with Wild Animal big guys can function just find and sometimes better without them. Tomb guardians are S5 and AV 9 sure. But god help if they every suffer an injury. With decay you are putting a lot of hope that you will not have TWO injuries.

but if you want the best all comers big guy i would say its the krox. that -1 to dodge tail thing makes elves think twice. if you can get a diving tackle skink in there or a saruas with tackle that will make most teams stay put and let you chew them up.

Being able to actually score is pretty great, piece removal is so important for many teams. Stabbing isn't even "unfair" it's so unlikely to work.

Players get hurt and die all the time, and no we dont go full PC blood bowl mode to score TD's. Its all about the gold and if you win you get more of it. We also keep track of win rates through the seasons.

You can surf and foul as much as you want, but you better lube up your asshole when you play a team with some frenzy. because if you are a dick they will go out of their way to challange you and spend the entire game surfing and fouling to maim your team to the point of retiring it.

BB1 never had skills at a glance, it had roughly the same method BB2 does now, just with words instead of icons. Only FUMBBL up untill this patch had skills at a glance, and that's only by virtue of letting plays ad their own tags to paces on the pitch.
