I think a few Sessions of Everyone is John is a good Idea before moving on to more "serious" systems. To get the jist of things and to see if you like the Hobby at all.
And if you are willing to put a bit effort into it any sytem is a good starting point I think. I personally think starting with something more rules light would be a good Idea.
You could start with Savage Worlds and the Achtung! Cthulhu supplement. Or really just jump straight into CoC, if you are really into it learning it might prove easy. And I actually don't know how complex the system is.
But to straight out answer

Wizards should keep their spellbooks in a separate thing so they have room to explain all the spells they know, right? There would never be enough room on one sheet for all the spells they might learn, and the spells per day change so often that it might as well be on scrap paper.
There isn't really enough room for a whole other section requiring that much space, I was mostly looking for advice on how easy to read it is. Thanks though

I would switch around the top information column. Move it around so that all the crunch is on one side and all the fluff is on the other. Maybe I'm overthinking it but being able to quickly glace at a corner for a specific set of details would be nice. Also I am of the oppinion that you can never have too large of an equipment section. I put all the "nutshell" stats together at the top like any other character sheet. Name, race, class, level, etc.
I had to make another line for alignment and Deity, so I decided I might as well stick age weight and height there too.
Boxes take up a lot more space, and I dont want to use up a box just for those three things
I made the Attributes part next after all the top lines, and then seized everything around that. Equipment is about as big as it can be unless I remove the Character Portrait box, which I don't want to do.
I made the Skills section bigger than Equipment because it needs more space for explanations
