I don't think I'd say he "can't" knock him out. He didn't last time, but things might go differently this time (although if I was Conor I wouldn't rely on it, and he probably will).
I also wouldn't say he couldn't win a decision. Yeah, he gassed last time, but he was basically firing on all cylinders got the first 1.5 rounds trying to get the knockout. If he allows himself to let go of the idea of an early KO, paves himself, kicks the shit of of Diaz's legs and waits for opportunities, I think he could take it to a decision win. He might even have a better shot at getting a knockout that way.
iirc he also did ok on the ground earlier in the fight. Yeah, he got wrecked there in the second round, but that was after he'd been rocked and went for the TD because he knew if he took another punch he'd be out. If he can avoid being half-unconscious when he goes to the ground I don't think it'll be easy mode for Nate again.
tl;dr there are ways for Conor to win if he fights smart and takes his ego out of the equation. Whether or not he'll do that remains to be seen.
