I'm Chinese and I find it funny when you guys see US as enemies. The only harmful thing we probably would do to the Americans is hurt your ego when we surpass you, other than that I don't see us doing anything that would hurt you, unless you hurt us.
Anyway, when we do surpass you, I can assure you that you will benefit as there are many American business currently in China. And in my opinion, it shouldn't hurt your ego too severely since we were number one in the past (and for thousands of years). so it doesn't come as a huge surprise that we are number one once again.

It seems like it's booming now because the internet makes information globally accessible. Anyone who has trans feelings as a kid will google it and suddenly find out there's thousands of people like them. Wendy Bell had worked at WTAE in Pittsburgh since 1998, but she left the news organization after her Facebook post was criticized.
A Pittsburgh television station cut ties with long-time anchor Wendy Bell on Wednesday over racially charged comments she posted on Facebook about a shooting.
WTAE-TV's parent company, Hearst Television, said Bell's comments were“inconsistent with the company’s ethics and journalistic standards,” AP reported.
“WTAE has ended its relationship with anchor Wendy Bell,” Hearst Television told AP. “Wendy’s recent comments on a WTAE Facebook page were inconsistent with the company’s ethics and journalistic standards.”
