I will come back on a better, dryer day (maybe next sunday) with this camera angle and see what it looks like, will be extremely close to the ground at higher lean angles.
>yfw they said the soonest they'd be able to start working on it is Wednesday
>tfw it's the only one that'll touch it in my state
>tfw still not able to ride
At least I'll help a buddy get a motorcycle tomorrow?
>just found out that 4chins isn't blocked on work
>mfw still need to spend at least 300 bucks on it (200 something for new tank and something something for new rear shock)
>haven't ordered anything yet
>thinking about ordering a new tail light together with the tank
What bike? Also do it. LED tail lights are great. Bonus points if they have turn signals integrated like mine does.
>tfw might end up paying for an entirely new wire harness if they decide to fix it the way I would
desu I wouldn't mind it.
it's white and vibrates because old 600cc single and I think that would be a good choice because LEDs shouldn't be that easy to kill through vibration, right?
and white tail light on white bike could look pretty dope.
Resistance is too low. Splice in a resistor.
ayyy. They're pretty fucking neat. I like the one on the MV.
What's it in the shop for?
My '08 Yamaha wr250x with my crf50cc big bored to 88cc.
I've tried multiple 250 dual sports and the DRZ400, but the wr250 puts them all to shame.
>did I mention light?
This bike seriously kicks ass. And for a 250 I can easily hit 80mph, with 90-95 my top speed.
>thinking about ordering a new tail light w/integrated turnsignals that noone can see
I never said that m8
only an LED tail light, I keep my current indicators.
integrated indicators would be illegal because there need to be an given space ( I think at least 11cm) between each of the indicators
29 bucks, almost nothing, and LED should be brighter and take less Energy, right? (saves voltage because lmao no battery kickstart only)
>tfw had a WR 125
it's so underground you amerifriend may not even heard about it.
My buddy has a street converted 450, and yeah it's fucking nuts. I definitely prefer the 250 in all other aspects though. I mean the 450 isn't even fuel injected (at least the one I rode which was mid 2000s).
Isn't the 300 2t two stroke? In that case I mean it's like comparing apples to oranges. I need a street bike not a MX bike.
>is it two stroke
yes m8 ... it's a two stroke.
I also like LED lights because I'm a tool. I can turn off the blue separately so I don't look like a cop.
Ah. My bad, I had never heard of it.
nah it's not bad, you couldn't really know
at least we german always say 2 T because two stroke translates to "Zweitakt" -> 2 = zwei Stroke = Takt
and italians have "2 tempi" iirc so they have the "2T", too.
nicest bike in terms of mind - throttle - rear wheel connection was a 2014 KTM 450 EXC (with EFI).
had no perceptible delay between thinking about adding power and the torque hitting the rear wheel.
What do you guys think about buying cheapshit bikes off craigslist, fixing them up and flipping them for a profit? Like my DR100 that I bought for $400. All it needed was a carb tune and the brakes to be fixed. I think I could get a sold $600+ if I threw a halfway decent paint job on it.
Rotary damper rebuild complete. Charged it up with 100psi at a truck tire place today.
Currently installing back in bike, will report with results.
Here's a candid for you /dbt/
Ready for this to be used against me for years to come ;)
Might actively try to sell it since i think imma be off bikes for a month maybe two now. Come get it ;)
Still gotta fix it this week though
>see feeds from social medias
>guy with wrecked face in hospital
>he babbles about "they took my freedom" or "quitting bike because muh family more important"
>everyone congratulating him on his courage
>this must be a hero
>check his history
>rode a harley 883 for less than 10 months
>only pics of him sitting on his bike near pubs with short pants and sleeveless shirt
>skull mouth scarf
>crashed head on with open face helmet
Anyone else riding tonight? It's nice right now, sitting at park @ 1:30am eating fast food.
Is that the helmet from we told you to buy?
>offered 140€ for a 170€ laguna seca jacket on ebay
>it's brand new
>counteroffer is 150€
Deal or no deal?
I'm not really into it, I just need a jacket and I'm on a budget.
I'm just considering it because I know dainese it's p. good.
The old sticky had a breakdown of the different types of motorcycle jacket material. It had a pretty good explanation of the different types of textile jacket and how different types and thicknesses of leather held up in a crash. Anyone have that?
I'm sitting next to the most autistic twat I've had the chance of meeting yet
>studies business at University
>spends all day watching tv shows
The only things missing are anime and 4chan which are things I'm familiar with, so between us two we have autism down. It also helps that we both have the same first names.
>but anon, how is that dbt related
Baiku has to be paid for somehow
>lightweight, underpowered 250
>moving on straight to a peterbike
Who could have predicted that something might go wrong.
Get well soon
Ok guys this is pretty weird I had a dream where me and my gf wear riding bikes together then we both turned into the motorbikes and had sex
I had a weird dream dbt.
>Be dbt meet
>Meet has american, strayan and yuro anons
>Camp fire drinking and having fun with anons
>braid, drop anon, mv anon, kkk, wranon etc
>sudenly im in a log cabin
>dont really remember how i got there but its still at the meet
>kkks is there
>pin him down and stick my dick inside him
>kkk is screaming
>keep pounding him
>cum really hard
>kkks is in the floor crying
>go out side
>everybody is chearing
>braid and other anons go in for a second round
So I bought an 85 virago off craigslist two weeks ago, test rode it everything seemed fine, bought for 1k and it broke down on my way home, guy didn't want too refund my money because we "shook on it" took it to the shop a bunch of shit wrong with it like 800 bucks too fix everything, I have the title but it's not even under the guy's name that I bought it off of and the guy doesn't know any of my info should I just just sell it for whatever cuz I don't have the money or time too fix it or just be an asshole back and leave it somewhere so it gets towed and let the fines add up?
I really love it when european neets try and force memes
250 isnt mine. Is my fwb's bike.
>>the way it looks printed makes it look so dark, like I would total assume in that pic that I'm ded
>I only like giving not take in it
>makes up a story about his favourite tripfag and keeps spamming it
I... Really can't decipher wtf you are trying to communicate... So, no?
i wrecked my drz saturday night and messed up my knee but i got back up and was just bloody/bruised though my knee was weak after that and couldnt stand for long. I messed up front end alignment on it so I took it to a buddy's house and we fixed it. Then we went for what was going to be a quick 30 minute ride. My hat I had on the bike blew off and I went back to get it. I don't have a kickstand so I stopped and was leaning over to get it supporting myself with my bad leg like a retard and my knee gave out and i fell over and bike fell on me just right and broke my foot and two toes. Supposed to call the doctor today and go in for surgery this week now.
Def not a cool story behind my injury that's for sure. I'm just bummed as fuck I'm going to miss out on probably at least a month of riding season. Also can't drive my race car for a bit I'm sure since it's a manual and has a somewhat stiff clutch.
I had a dream that I was coming home from a toy store and on the flight of stairs righ before my door
a loli devil girl appeared and tried to convince me to have sex with her,
I was like -no fuck off- (wtf) and then she bended over putting her head between her knees while standing to show me her spread pussy and started playing around showing me her tongue, so she started sucking my dick in that position while I was playing with her asshole.
Then I woke up
Are insert back protectors much worse than the full one like pic related?
>tfw I get mistaken for Wr all the time
nah, it's a fake SV / gladiarse 2.0
t. actual SV owner.
Everything is worse, everything. The suspension, the engine, the bars, the look, the frame, the swingarm, the handling.
Even the seat, the SV650 has a nice flat seat, you can move around, it's all good.
The gladius smashes your fucking nuts into the tank.
It is pure disappointment in motorcycle form, in every single measurable way you could possibly test, it is just worse than the bike it replaces.
All they had to do was take the RnD money from the gladius and put it into some restyled fairings and USD forks for the SV650 and they would have had a megaclassic.
I still need to give it a try, and unfucking the gladiarse's shit wasn't the worst thing for suzuki to do.
However I'm still going to call it the "gaybo POS wishes it was an SV but it's not it's a gladiarse 650" because it doesn't feel right to call it an SV650.
It was a nice sunny Sunday yesterday and instead of going out for an evening ride I stayed in and played witcher 3.
Think commuting on the bike everyday is making me lose much passion much soul, lads
Because I decided I didn't want to be in that gear for the next corner after all.
Did that really need to be answered? should be obvious.
Ok. I survived.
I think it has potential but the adjustments are way out.
>High speed damping is basically fine
>pretty lumpy and bumpy ride quality on suburban roads
>8/10ths onramp cornering produces a ~1.2 hz death weave
I think the bump and rebound damping are mismatched but I can't tell much beyond that on a ~10min test ride.
could a shock even do that?
in any case.
Fuck you tons of shitbikes on /dbt/
i am an /onlybike as well. currently not going out for rides after work/shenanigans simply because it stays over 100 degrees will into the early hours of the morning here.
when lovely september rolls around tho....the perfect weather for 8 months begins.
Texas here, same shit, it's 100 and humid every day now so I'm trying to hump my shitbox around since the AC is the only thing that works immaculately in it...
I rode every day from september to june though, about to maybe get a new bike so I'm sure I'll risk the heat just to get out there on it.
Got color matching new grips on...
Inside it's like this, but searching for "terminali" and "antivibrazioni" gets me the pressure fit ones...
>Asked at the big shop and they told me they're a bitch to find
>now i'm on the hunt for a niche Aprilia racing shop
>with minimal indications
>"va' da Beppe"
>the fuck is Beppe
Threads in, the thread is welded inside the OEM bars
If street legal then you have to pay sales tax, registration, and title transfer fees and shit (in most US states at least) so if you're not making at least a couple thousand dollars per flip then it's really not worth it (not to mention the time, effort, and money spent fixing the bikes up). Also, (in TX at least) you can only sell a limited number of vehicles per year (I think it's 6) before you have to get an auto dealer's license which is a PITA.
Posting new arrivals in ye shoppe in the meantime
I had a dream a couple nights ago where my bike got stolen and then I went to buy another bike off CL that I thought had 6500 miles on the odometer but after I bought it and finished up all the paperwork I realized I had misread it and it actually had 65000 miles on it. WHAT DID IT MEAN????
>I have the title but it's not even under the guy's name that I bought it off of
Never EVER buy a vehicle from anyone other than the person that's listed on the title. I even ask to take a photo of their driver's license so I can have that on record in case anything goes wonky in the title transfer process.
>I even ask to take a photo of their driver's license so I can have that on record in case anything goes wonky in the title transfer process.
I wouldn't let you do that if I were the seller. Just get it notarized. Banks do it for free, at least where I live.
no you want to start on a 650.
600's are uncomfortable and unforgiving to novice riders.
was that a good (You)?
Hi dbt, is a written/visual permit required pre-MSF course or will a normal license suffice?
Amazingly they don't specify this and I don't want to show up without one if it is necessary lal
>25°C+ weather after two weeks of rain and cold
>need a new cam chain
You can find some pretty good bikes for $3000 but remember that you'll still have to pay sales tax and registration fees and buy gear, so if you want a $3000 bike then you really need at least $4000 to cover all that other stuff.
He forgot to mention low miles does not mean its in good condition, if a bike has 10,000 miles then sat for 5 years without being started it is fucked or more will be within the next 2000km of riding.
I've never heard of anyone getting a title notarized like that here in TX. If they don't let me take a picture of their DL then I write down their name, DL number, and address so I have something to go on if they decide to disappear and I need to track them down for something.
I've never had any issues with getting a title transferred but you can never be too careful. Mexicans around here in particular are prone to disappearing after anything goes wrong --
call them, no answer
go to their house, 7yo kid that speaks English says they don't live there anymore
contact authorities, they say they'll "look into it" but never do
Bikes require more frequent maintenance in comparison to cars. Oil change intervals, valve adjustments, air filter cleaning + re-oiling, wheel bearing replacements, etc. are all on a more frequent maintenance schedule compared to modern cars. Motorcycle tires wear out MUCH quicker than car tires do. Additionally bikes have chains/belts, drive sprockets, fork seals, etc that must be checked / adjusted / replaced.
There's a lot of stuff to look for when buying a bike, I'm sure there's a buyer's guide somewhere...
there it is, it's in the /o/ sticky
