>>
>>60763725
They played metal influenced hardcore so ,sure, why not. People will often label them as crust because that's what crust meant back in those days not what's considered crust now like uk crustcore like Doom.

In the 90s metalcore meant hardcore + moshy thrash riffs

In the 00s metalcore meant hardcore + melodeath or mathcore

today it's associated with bands like Asking Alexandria and it's a completely meaningless term by itself and without context. I'd say in the vein of emo if I wasn't such an elitist and didn't consider modern "emo" emo.

The picture itself wasn't the problem, although to the mods it is. It's that the thread was knowingly created with that picture despite the fact threads that start with images like that are deleted. Why create a thread that's inevitably going to be deleted? It's also pretty stupid to have it as an image anyway considering it encourages memes to flood the general like the semen demon one.

There's plenty of heavy metal without any real rock or blues. There's plenty of death metal without punk. Black metal usually doesn't have punk to begin with. Dunno about doom.

>>
>>60770778
Yeah I agree completely. Sunn O))) have a lot of potential that I didn't see come to form on Kannon. I mean, it's been six years - I really thought some crazy experimental stuff would be the result of that but I guess I was wrong. I would love to see them delve into music with more vocals and more instruments, that's what made M&D so good.

That being said Kannon 3 is fucking good.
>>

Black One is a really cool listen. I don't revisit it often but I do appreciate it, definitely one of the darkest albums I can think of.

I'm a sucker for cool/unique packaging.
Which do you think is better between White1 and White2?
>>

It sucks because I think I prefer White1's music, but White2's album art. Still both of them have a super cool aesthetic, some really neat stuff but again I hardly ever revisit it. Been into Drone a lot this week actually, good studying music.

I'm inclined to agree but only slightly.
/metal/ does have its own memes. Texasposting and ROTN come to mind right off the bat.

>>60773364
Don't listen to hype or critics. Just try it for yourself.
>>
>>60773364
You could listen and decide for yourself
>>
>>60773364
Only listened to it recently, went in with 0 expectations, as is best ofcourse, honestly 1.5/10 album, regret ever giving this band a chance
>>
>>60764560
you will be most satisfied with Grim Reaper, without question. All three studio albums, but start with the obvious See You in Hell.
>>
>>60773364
Didn't care for SUN BAT HER but I really liked New Bermuda.
>>
>>60773360
Kind of like this https://youtu.be/1XvAlItcVQk

but a little less technical
>>
>>60770227
Try their other album I guess. Can't remember what it sounds like, but I can't remember it being much different except the amount of melodies
>>
>>60773139
i don't like beatdown but their music videos are absolutely amazing and they're just hilarious in general

I wish they'd do another collaboration on par with Altars. The past couple came across as soulless droning that went absolutely nowhere.

So is it that you guys like them but none of you guys take them seriously? Is that it? Are ROTNS just the metal equivalent of "a fun pop band that's made for fun (only)"?
>>

>>60773222

I really liked strapping young lad and i already know devin townsend and his stuff. What should i listen next? I'm searching for something angry and violent like syl. I also tried to listen to demanufacture by fear factory, but i can't stand when the singer keeps vomiting into the microphone. Can you help me /metal/ ?
>>
>>60775268
Fill my ass with your factories is a great band, similair to niggerdevil
>>
>>60768371
sorry I don't listen to memedrone
>>
Anyone heard the new factory of the northern homosexual album?
>>
>>60775483
Are you saying that they are both shit or what?
>>
>>60775654
Basically what I'm saying is that there's a distinction to be made between the factory(because they do), and ofcourse -fear(back in 2005). After "boogily deedly" came out they changed the face of reggay forever

There's a guy at my college (a tech school btw) who owns multiple Attila shirts.

He wears brightly colored skinny jeans, snapbacks, and Nikes if that helps you understand the kind of person who listens to Atilla

obscure doom and occult rock pls folks, I can never get enough in my life. especially bluesy and/or Psyched out Stoner/Sludge/Post-Metal/Drone too. and Space Rock.

actually can anyone recommend metal that sounds like fucking Hawkwind - Space Ritual?

it's fine, after listening to some of it i won't consider it really metal, i mean i can hear the bm influences but it sounds more like a Shoegaze-Post Rock-Skramz thing
