Yeah, they're sorta straight-forward. I expected a lot of synths and acoustic passages as well, but somehow it really grew on me and it's one of my favourite bm albums now.

His lies have been proven several times and he used several fake accounts on online forums trying to back up his claims which were all traced to his college computers. He said he had gone to norway in 93 and met vikernes in order to "talk about the fute of black metal", whis is blatant bullshit. He also anonimously threatened to kill the newborn child of the singer of some other band and the guy beat him up at his own concert. There is also a hilarious clip of him at a german talkshow called britt where he was called out by his roommate for dressing weird and listening to strange music. Can't find the clip atm.

Transylvanian Hunger is just so fucking tasty though it's hard to decide... Some of the production on kathaarian life code is reeaaal weird though, some of the "ughs" and shit the volume is all over the place, I understand that was probably the general idea to have a lo fi "trve" sound but it always just annoys me a little bit. I fucking love the production on ABITNS. Heavy abrasive guitars and loud thumping drums. I wouldn't say it's better than the tinny sound of Under a Funeral Moon, or Transilvanian Hunger which almost sounds like it was recorded underwater, as those albums are going for different atmospheres and they do it very well, which shows how great a band Darkthrone used to be. But I do prefer ABITNS out of the three, for great riffs and memorable moments, which I thought Under a Funeral Moon and Transilvanian Hunger were lacking in (but made up for in mesmerizing atmosphere).
