While it may not be strictly technology, I wanted to do a little writeup about buying fake fashion off Ali, since I know there's gotta be a couple other people interested.
First off, *most* of the time you will not be able to find shit through the Ali search - there's certain keywords for brands that help you find fakes, but most sellers make it impossible to find branded shit through the search; for instance, some Tommy Hilfiger socks I found through a facebook group were listed as "5Colors SOCK Gentlemen Thin Bamboo Socks Men Socks/High quality Men's sports Ankle Socks". However, the dead giveaway comes in pictures provided, because they've blocked out the logo (and the pictures in feedback have the real logo).
It's going to be really tough to find more high-value items like shoes with this method, and most sellers who directly list on Ali will be selling shitty fakes for anything high value. Good sellers will have a photo gallery of what they have along with a WhatsApp or Skype (primarily WhatsApp) to make sure they have your size + discuss price - I've found that you can haggle after buying from the same seller multiple times. With regards to sizing, things vary: shoes tend to run a little bit big but are pretty accurate to listed European size (I'm normally EUR45 but EUR44 fits just fine with a bit of room, but it differs from seller to seller), but it's a complete crapshoot with other clothing. What they say is a medium is really a Chinese medium: they'll have sizing charts (or ask the seller for one), get yourself a fabric tape measure and compare your measurements to the chart. If you've been here for a few weeks or even bought from either site you'd fucking know that. Ali is miles better than Gearbest in every respect. They give you a refund after any dispute, the sellers don't get paid until you mark the order as received so they're reluctant to chink you as it means they WON'T GET PAID, and their system of policing sellers is much more on the ball.
I should print out your first comment and hang it up at a local university with the caption "what did he mean by this" and see if any scholars can see past your pointless anti-Ali shitposting.

Well, it would be around flagship performance instead of mid range. I don't think the poor battery optimization and lack of rom support is worth the performance increase though. Also, mediatek socs have a wolfson codec, so the mediatek version will always have better sound quality than the snapdragon one, this is true for the note 3 as well.

Getting pictures is arguably the most important part of the process, because while some sellers are upfront and show pictures of their product, most use stock photos. Regardless of whether you're buying through Ali or dealing directly with a seller through WhatsApp, contact the seller for anything high value and ask for pictures. Some may be willing to send you them before you pay, but most want you to pay first and will send you pictures before shipping. Most sellers I've dealt with are pretty good in making sure you're good with the pictures before shipping (you have to make it clear that you want to see pictures BEFORE they ship, I usually phrase it as "to make sure they look right") - if they look like shit, tell them you're going to file a refund request and they should be fine with it.
Most fakes I've bought tend to arrive in the US within 1.5/2 weeks, but I'm in California so most all Chinese products pass through here first anyways. I've never had issues with customs (even though they often ship them in the real box), but most sellers will send you another for free. Verify their policy first though, some might want you to pay $5 for shipping or something; they'll try to assure you that nothing will happen ("we put low customs value it won't get opened"), but if you keep asking they'll eventually tell you their policy.
