Reposting once again:

VLC supposedly has metadata-editing features, right?

If I open a file and change some of them, a "save metadata" button will appear and the metadata will be saved when I close the window (as shown by the new title displayed as the file title), but when I close VLC and reopen it, the file still has the old metadata.

Does VLC only change the metadata for that specific session, or it should change it on the file itself (and somehow it's not working for me)?

Are there any video capture devices for consoles (specifically for 7th gen, but I don't care if it works for 8th gen too) that does processing/encoding on the footage on the capture hardware itself rather then via a PC it's hooked up into, or otherwise can just stream the video from the console directly to twitch (which I could then rip and download) without much processing at all?

I need to record something, but the only computer I have with me at the time is a very old shitty laptop that can't handle video editing.

I'm trying to setup the following thing as a lab setup:

Win8 64 bit computer
Install ESXi VM on that device
Install VCSA on that ESXi

This issue I have now is that VCSA is 64bit, and you can't virtualize 64bit 2 layers deep.

Is there a way to get around this?

iOS is getting RAW photo support in iOS 10, Lightroom Mobile already supports it and the color accuracy and screen is going to be way better than on my old laptop since the iPad has an IPS screen. iPads are definitely good enough for photo editing but I'm not going to be able to run DAWs or anything like that on it, and I don't plan to either since that's what I use my desktop for.

I'm not going to get rid of my laptop and I'll probably pick up a Dell XPS 13 when my budget allows for it anyways so I can use Ableton with all my plugins on it, it's just more convenient to have a tablet if you're only going to read ebooks, watch movies and browse the internet.

Can I power a raspberry pi 3 from my laptops usb port?
I won't be using wifi or BT, and I'm mostly only going to be using it to host a web server, and maybe test some other things.

also does anyone know if I unplug the power to a dock for my thinkpad if it turns off the USB ports? or will the USB ports still work without power from the wall going into the dock?

I was told the starting salary is something like 40k, but then it raises so slow that you practically won't reach 60k before you go in retirement.
>>

I don't have it yet, but I'll be ordering one soon probably.
actually now that I think about it, my x201 tablet that I got a while ago had a dock. It was the type that you'd stick on the bottom and keep it there if you wanted expanded io.
But that dock worked just fine on battery, so I'll assume that the more desk oriented docks will be the same.

Now if only my power would quit going out so often so I don't have to buy 3 or 4 UPSes to power all my devices.

How do I upgrade the android version of my Xiaomi Redmi HM 1SW to 4.4?

if the version of MIUI brings it you get it
if cianogenmod was made for your phone you can use that
>>

>if the version of MIUI brings it you get it
Do you mean that if I press "Check for updates" and it says that I'm running the latest version then MIUI didn't bring it?

>if cianogenmod was made for your phone you can use that
Is that a different OS built on Android? Will it come with a new layer of bugs and do I have to reinstall apps/theming stuff? I just wanna play Pokemon go

>>
>>55619886
I guess he wanted to say, that if the update check doesn't tell you there's one available, then there's nothing you can do unless you install a different ROM like cyanogenmod.
and yes, you'd have to reinstall everything.
MIUI is a special kind of ROM already, not pure android.
>>
>>55619886
damn faggot I actually googled for you

so first switch recovery mode from current to TWRP
https://twrp.me/devices/xiaomiredmi1s.html
google out what is TWRP, what it does and how to do the flashing

then you can put any rom anywhere on the device and update your system to whatever you like

like here android 5, assuming it fits your phone

That sucks. Why is it so slow to update the Android version? I'm still at 4.3 and people have had 6.0 since 2015. By the time MIUI gets to 4.4 I'll be the only one on the Pokemon server

Look up for disassembly videos on youtube or service manuals for your laptop model. Modern laptops have fancy profiled parts which can be easily damaged if you don't know how they look like before the dissasembly. If you go in blind you are sure to break e.g. some of those fucking plastic latches (which I hate btw; what a horrible way to fasten parts together).
You probably know about it, but put a MINIMAL amount of paste on the CPU (paste just adds to the thermal resistance, it's there to just cover the irregularities of the surfaces)
It might be just my autism, but when I unscrew each layer I draw a "map" on a sheet of paper of where should each screw go. That way I accidentally don't put a screw on a wrong layer which is a pain to redo.
Also, you might clean your fan and put some lubricant on it when you're at it.
