>>
>>55269630
The bass is quite light on the hd600 if anything, on the 702 it's non existent. The 702's NEED to be eq'd to add bass and to remove the shrill highs. The hd600's don't need anything.

Dont talk shit just because you can't afford them.

Seriously I bought those half a year ago because they were recommended on the /hpg/ iem list.

They feel cheap and nasty besides the main metal body and they sound no better than the two iem's i'm about to refer. I sent them back to amazon instantly. Do not fucking buy them.

Buy the piston 3's or the kz ed9's (pic related). Don't use the extra bass nozzle with the kz's. Both of those headphones are cheap as fuck on ali express etc.

>mid-bassy
Most open dynamics are mid-bassy, K702 with a proper seal outputs more mid-bass than the HD600. DT880 and HD800 output more mid-bass because they are recessed in the upper midrange. HD600 is the least mid-bassy of the popular open dynamics often discussed on this sub.

>lullaby-like-warm
lolno, if anything the HD600 is bright, yes you read that correctly, bright, not full on retarded bright like the HD800 but the HD600 does have a strong upper midrange response due to its diffuse field equalization.

>error 404 : details not found
The only non-speaker that I've heard that consistently beats the HD600 is the Etymotic ER-4S and I ain't inserting any dildos into my ears for pleasure listening.

The HD600 is literally the GOAT headphone, it cannot be beat, and when it does get beaten I will buy the product that does it.

Thank you, notice how that guy did no respond to my final comment.

The 702's do have more 'detail' than the hd600's. But everything else is worse.
>>
>>55275673
The K702 is less detailed in my finding, the recession at 4kHz makes it sound a bit muffled in my opinion, they are bright in the higher treble but bright != details.

I don't get why people say the K702 is analytical, a $100 HD558 beats it for details and accuracy while being more neutral and consistent at the same time.
>>
>>55275716
>bright != details
Be careful of what you post around here. You could get self-righteous idiots arguing stupidly with things like that.
>>
>>55275716
Interesting, when it comes to headphones i've tried the 702's, k712's, x2's and the hd600's.

The 702's were my first pair and I still think that they were the most detailed. The trade off for me was that the bass was too sharp along with the highs on certain vocals.

Overall the hd600 just feels right and I don't feel a need to EQ any part of it, whereas the 702 needed an EQ imo.

Hey guys. I've currently got a Schiit Audio Bifrost and Asgard 2 DAC and headphone amplifier. But, I'm considering down-sizing. How much of a difference do you guys think I'd hear between the Bifrost and Asgard 2, and something integrated to my PC like an ASUS Xonar Essence STX II?

FYI, K702 has more bass than the HD600.

It's not hard to find a soundcard that does a decent digital<->analogue conversion. The headamps tend to more lacking, depending on load. Generally suited to more high impedance. Generally.

What were your thoughts on the HD 25 SP-II?
I'm in the market for some neutral or V-shaped portable headphones because my K550's are impossible to lug around on my daily routine.

>>

That's also what I'm leaning for, assuming there's nothing else to consider for neutral or V-shaped that are portable.
>>
>>55277922
You're talking to someone else.

Don't know much about 25 SP other than what you can read about, HD 25-1 falls under the V-shape profile (usually), the MSR7 is closer to neutral.
My old pair had the baffles mounted improperly, giving my set a very pronounced bass rolloff. The headphone is disassembled easily making that a quick fix.
I'd pick the MSR7 for sound and comfort any day, but the HD 25-1 simple design and ruggedness is nice.

Wireless. Either or. One of the best recommendations I had from here (I visit /g/ rarely) was the Xiaomi Piston. For like $20 it was an incredible IEM set. I tried to order Xiaomi Piston Mk 3 but got fakes like two months after I placed the order. The first Xiaomi Piston I got, Mk II, lasted a good year until one ear died. After that, I got some Sony MDR-50 for about $40 - complete shit, literally worse than Xiaomi Piston despite costing twice as much, lasted less than half a year until one ear died. How the chinks beat the japs on this i don't know. Anyways, all of that were wired, I'm firmly convinced that going wireless will solve my problems

> strong upper mids
Lol dude, you're literally turning the HD600 into a K702, or maybe you're confusing them. Did you ever look at HD600 graphs? Even when K702 are properly sealed, HD600 mid-bass is still stronger. The precise reason why HD600 sounds veiled and K702 doesn't is because K702 has more upper-mids, whereas HD600 is a bit recessed around 2 kHz. I previously owned a X2, that really was mid-bassy!
> even HD558 has more details
It's a good headphone, but no, it doesn't come near to the K702.

Headroom's graphs may not be the best, but they can be reliable for comparison.

Do you think the M20X is better than the AKG K240 for this kind of music?
>>
>>55281537
Nope, I didn't, but they are not the same price range. I'm poorfag, so the M30X is the most expensive headphone I can choose.
One of my fellow (producing hardstyle techno tracks for Fusion/Scantraxx) using Audio-Technica M50X and he pretty satisfied with that. And if you read the review, (http://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/audio-technica/ath-m30x and http://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/audio-technica/ath-m50x) you can see only the shitty treble is the main drawback of the M30X, in bass and mid that performs almost as good as M50X.
>>
>>55281423
I liked them. Though I'm curious as to what else is out there. I don't understand. If there is nothing is that price range I suggested that beats the 598's then ill just repurchase them.

It's been a while. Nice V-shape balance. Fairly smooth low end for closed headphone. Disappointing (lack of) isolation.
>dampening
It's called damping.

KYAAAAAARRGHHHHH!!!

Fuck I don't know which way to go /hpg/; RHA T20i vs Shure SE215.

T20i is a solid unit mostly made out of metal but is more favoured towards the low-end and costs around $50 more

The SE215 has a more neutral response but is mostly made out of plastic, including the ear tip/tube so I may or may not break it (I tend to brake things with no problems ;_;). Also a tad cheaper.

I listen to all types of music, so I mostly prefer a more neutral frequency response of the SE215, but I really like the build quality of the T20i...

Which way do I go?

Kingston HyperX Cloud Cores.

They're a gamerfied (detachable mic, red accents, branding) of the Takstar Pro 80 (though more closer to the Qpad QH-90 in design and sound) and usually only $40 or less.

Some of the best sound headphones/headsets in the price range.
>>
>>55282780
I haven't hear t20i or seen graphs of it but SE215 is very bassy in ear.
>>
>>55282820
I have the HyperX Cloud headset and i could definitely recommend it. This shit is super comfy (note that i have glasses and never got any pain in those), the sound is good but not too good (as expected from GAYMING headset). Overall experience is good.

Compared to the T20i I meant, but aren't there several versions of the SE215, with one of them being somewhat flatter than the rest?

Anyway, one of the reasons why I'm also keen on the SE215 was for the detachable cable, now if there was an affordable metal constructed, detachable earphone then I would be totally over it...

Those Etys look (and I assume) sound good too, but seem to fragile for me.

Do you mean the special edition?

I think you previously mentioned that you lived in SA. If only you lived in SYD. To go to Minidisc and try audition the SE215 yourself.

SE215's have a misleading plastic build quality. I recall people accidentally stepping on their Shures and it breaking.

That's just one graph. K702 has more mid-bass than the HD600, especially in the lower midrange, you do know that the K702 has a recession at 4kHz, right? HD600 is not recessed at 2kHz.

Yo niggas I got a hundred bucks give or take. Want something nice. Have white se215, hate how they feel and they're always falling out of my ear because of the stupid over ear loop design, and the bass is retarded. Recommend me something that's not se215s. Heard good things about etymotic.

So i got those Q701 cans, i can listen to music from my PC, phone and sansa clip sport.
Now everyone says i need an amp.

So i think about getting a DAC/Amp combo. A popular one is the fiio e10k, seems good.
But there's also the fiio k1, and it's cheaper.
Functionally, the e10k adds a volume knob, bass and gain switches, but these are not that useful for me.

Did anyone try that K1? What do you think?
It seems to be quite recent, so there's not many reviews.

The Q701 are 62ohm cans, so it's ok for the K1 output.

I plan to get the e10k from china for 65€, or the k1 from amazon for 50€.

Why do you think you need an amp?
>>
>>55284476
It' more about the DAC.

I'm not an audiophile at all, but i'd like to experience decent quality sound at decent price.

It's more about everyone saying how this Q701 needs a DAC/amp, so i'm just following. :3

get better headphones or EQ what you got
>It's more about everyone saying how this Q701 needs a DAC/amp, so i'm just following.
they might need an external amp and/or DAC if the on-board amp/DAC aren't good enough. doesn't seem to be the case for you though.
>>
>>55283746
Why don't you use the other in-ears?

>>55284288
>so it's ok for the K1 output.
The impedance range is actually a useless spec that isn't important.

>>55284704
>It's more about everyone saying how this Q701 needs a DAC/amp, so i'm just following. :3
You can ignore that and go over the checklist to see if you really need one. Another version is on the wiki, which can answer most questions.

Amplifier/DAC checklist:
-Is it too quiet?
-Is the output impedance too high (fixable by equalization)?
-Is there noise/EMI or hiss to it?
-Does it sound distorted as you start to crank up the volume?
If the answer is no, don't get one.

Xiaomi Piston 2, liked them a lot besides being uncomfortable for weeks until I didn't care anymore

Cannot decide between those:

Brainwavz Delta
ZERO AUDIO Tenore

I'm poor, are Philips SHP1900 decent enough or should I save up my money to buy something better? Keep in mind I've spent most of my life listening through Dollar General generics that were $5 or less, so anything better than that is a step up.
>>
>>55287202
Save your money to get headphones with removable cable.
Or wait for portapros to reach 10€, like i did, they have a nice sound, but are open.

If you want to go the cheap way, go get xiaomi pistons on chinkstores, go check /csg/ thread for addresses, i know banggood, fasttech, gearbest, dealextreme to be reliable stores. These are like 5-10€, don't buy them if they are over that price.
You also have LeTV metal IEM, which are good, but beware of the fakes.

Overall, think that headphones with a removable cable will last longer. It's better to better quality stuff, as you'll get to buy them once and have a better experience.

For price reference, i got Q701 for 120€, portapros white for 10€, letv metal for 10€ (with accessories, genuine).
