What cheap Chink tech have you bought, and would you recommend it?

Yes, we know everything is already from China but in here we discuss the no/low-name cheap shit you see on eBay, AliExpress, Gearbest and similar sites.

So I bought these. The rubber on it stinks way too much, and the left one has a pretty rough surface with a lot of friction on it so it's not really great for moving your mouse much around. Can overcome the smell with a bunch of perfume. Overall I do not recommend buying such mouse pads.
>>
>>54086255
Have you tried washing it?
If it still stinks after that it might be some poisonous shit.

It's bad, I swear the smell keeps sticking to your hand after using it for a while. Here is what the seller replied when I complained about it. Poisonous shit? Oh damn, I saw other anons buy these and said they were good with perfume. If it's that bad I'd go get rid of it. Scrubbing? Not sure about that one.

Someone put a Verizon SIM in their Note 3 Pro and manually enter APN settings if it doesn't connect.

Recommend me a portable speaker that's BIGGER than the Xiaomi square box one.

Requirements:
-Real stereo (no mono)
-Deep bass
-Good to decent sound quality
-3.5mm input
-Charges off 5V

Preference (but semi-acceptable if lacking)
-Stereo channels not reversed
-Prefer micro-USB
-Battery powered (willing to use external powerbank)
-Front-facing speakers (not sideways)

UNACCEPTABLE:
-Voice prompts when you turn it on (I can't stand some chink slut yelling BLEU TOOTH MODE)

Don't need:
-Good battery life
-Bluetooth

So far I like my DKnight Magicbox II, but I'm looking for something a little bigger, like some sort of Bose Soundlink II/III clone (not the mini)

I work in a LOUD manufacturing facility.

The machinery and fans are loud enough that you can't hear other people's music from more than ~15 feet away. We are not allowed to wear headphones at work ("MY LEG!!! OH GOD SOMEBODY HELP ME") but we are allowed to listen to music at a reasonable volume. My station is ~45 feet away from other people so I'm not bothering them with my music, and I don't listen to niggarap anyways. (Mostly jazz and string quartet covers of VGM and rock music, if you care).

The popular speakers at work seem to be the UE Boom, Bose Soundlink , Bose Soundlink Mini (good sound but too quiet for my station), the JBL Extreme, and the JBL flip (sounds like garbage).

I was wondering if the chinks have made a good Soundlink II/III clone yet.

I might pick one up just for fun, but I already have a good sounding speaker in that size and price range (DKnight Magicbox II as I mentioned).

That video sounds like total garbage, but I'm not going to judge it on that because it's a style of music I hate, almost certainly filmed with a shitty handheld smartphone mic, transcoded to youtube, and listened to through my chinkpad's shitty onboard.

My experience is those smaller speakers can sound good once you EQ and amp them (rockbox clip+ -> fiio e6), but much of the bass is dependent on direct conduction to a larger surface like a wooden desk, and also the half/quarter space reinforcement that occurs in your standard office environment with a desk up against a wall.

I am a bass player, so my standards for bass reproduction and desired sound signature may be a little different than the population at large,

I love my robo vacuum. There are a few downsides. I'll post a full review after I do my taxes tonight. The negatives are:

>The supplied paper filters get worn out quick. I dont know where I would get more so I'm going to make some washable filters. I'll post pics on this later.
>The return home function doesn't work very well. The unit meanders around until it bumps into the dock. It seems that it has to be within about 3 feet of the dock to recognize it.
>It doesn't work well on carpets. There's no roller brush on the v5, so it doesn't agitate the carpet and only seems to get the loose particles. The v7 has a roller brush so it would theoretically be better at carpets.
>The scheduled cleaning only works once and then resets. There's no way to tell it to clean everyday at a certain time. Also, the scheduled cleaning function only works if the unit is already "awake" or on the dock.

Other than that it seems perfect. Well worth 120 dollars (78 with cakebux). The suction is great, build quality seems excellent. I haven't tried the mopping function. Though the supplied microfiber mopheads are incredibly thin. You could make your own easily out of microfiber towels if you needed replacements though.

The battery life is exceptional: 3-4 hours. When the batteries run low, it returns to the dock and successfully finds it 50-60% of the time. I haven't tried the app out yet, but I'm sure it works fine. It's bluetooth-based so you'll have to be close to the unit. Its really more of a remote replacement than a complementary app.

In all, its excellent: 8/10 overall, 10/10 for the price. It won't replace your vacuum but it will help you double or triple the time in between manual vacuuming jobs.

Also, its only ever gotten "stuck" when a cord wrapped around its brushes. The unit detected this and shut off. When it goes over a rug or an extension cord, it raises itself up.
>>
>>54088008
You'll be fine regardless, if paypal is unable to take that amount out of your bank it'll just be a negative amount on your paypal until you transfer the money for it.

can be found for ~$8 on ebay, but you might need to vary the search terms a bit.

5.25V open circuit, 4.90 V @ 2 A. Tested with a USB voltmeter + load resistor. Charges my Xiaomi 5000mAh powerbanks at 1.60 A when I use a good cable.

I haven't done a proper teardown, but I've had four of these things in my house for 6 months and no fires yet.

Anker and Aukey stuff also has a good reputation but are more expensive and I can't vouch for them personally.

this, the only thing the manufactures cant do is change default programs to their own.

so by default edge has to be the installed browser, bing the search engine etc.

A 3-meter cable will only drop ~75mV, or 0.075V. The standard tolerance for usb devices is 4.8-5.2V. That's still perfectly fine.

>AKSHUALLY

You're close, USB spec is actually +- 5% which works out to 5.25V - 4.75V.

Most lithium batteries top out at 4.2 , and you only need to be ~0.2V higher than this to make room for modern linear regulators so many things will still charge even at ~4.5 V even though it's technically out of spec. Likewise, the most common internal voltages are 3.3V and below (1.8V, 1.2V are very common) so there's tolerance there too.

My MyGica T230 DVB-T2 USB TV tuner arrived yesterday:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/dvb-t2-receiver-GENIATECH-MyGica-USB-TV-Stick-T230-DVB-T2-Tuner-DVB-T-with-License/1883597971.html

Works fine under Linux via TVHeadend. Bundled antenna is exactly as shit as you'd expect. It's about £15 whereas any other DVB-T2 tuner costs at least £50. If you're in a country sufficiently civilised to broadcast a DVB-T2 signal and you want to watch TV on a computer then they're great. Delivery to UK took 10 days.
