What cheap Chinese shit have you bought, and would you recommend it?

Yes, we know everything is already from China but in here we discuss the no/low-name cheap shit you see on eBay, AliExpress, Gearbest and similar sites.

Well the MT6735 is on par with the Snapdragon 600, so I don't get why would anyone think it's a slow SoC.

Mostly optimization on those crap phones, not the SoC fault.

My mother still use her Cubot s168 with a MT6582 and shit is smooth as fuck, it's not just the SoC, but the software, and Cubot is know to have clean and optimized ROMs at release date for their phones(and then they never update their shit).

And I got a Cubot Note S with a MT6580 shit is still smooth, but now with 2GB of RAM instead of 1GB, SoC are overpowered for mobile devices, software is the problem.

Probably not true. XiaomiDevice.com and GSMArena both list different bands which are the more common bands that chinkphones support.

If it supported Band 4 3G and/or Band 4 LTE like that image claims, I would be VERY surprised. Only a few models from Huawei that are marketed in the US support these bands.

So is the ht6 actually any good?
Disappointed with battery life on my g3, looking for something cheap and good. The oukitel k10000 doesn't have noise cancelling though, how's call quality on the ht6?

My Nexus 4 had a quiet in call volume and my g3 is great for that. Any experiences with the ht6?
>>
>>53941110
Call quality is important to me, but my g3 barely gives me half an hour more than my Nexus 4 did, which isn't enough to get me through a day.
>>
>>53940418
Wrong. Most chinese phones support band 7 which is 2600mhz. Rogers, Bell and Telus uses those bands for the lte also.
http://mobilesyrup.com/2014/10/24/rogers-lte-advanced/

So yes you can use lte on a chinese phone if it has band 7(which most of them do). Also looking at http://willmyphonework.net/ it seems that no carriers in the states uses band 7. So it's only america thats left out.
>>
Would someone recommend some good closed headphones and amplifier?

Currently considering the Superlux HD661 for my home and the Topping NX1A for my phone.

Also anyone has experience with the VR Box 2?
>>
>>53941155
They only use that band in high density areas for faster LTE. You can see the deployment on Bell's coverage map by looking at "LTE Advanced" Telus doesn't use it at all.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks#Americas

The vast majority of service is on Band 4, if you don't have that you won't get LTE in most places. Also you'll be missing Band 17 if you're on Rogers or Bell, which helps get LTE inside buildings (usually deployed in big cities).

The lack of Band 4 and 17 is a dealbreaker for me, since I would only get LTE in one area of town and be stuck on 3G in the rest of the city, including near my house.

You have to remember though that bell and telus are sharing towers across Canada. Some telus users reported being able to use band 7. There was a post in the previous thread that he had LTE on koodo. I don't think we'll be seeing 4 or 17 on any Chinese phones anytime soon, so I guess your only option is to get one from the big brands.

This adventure starst with the hi 8, because >$100 is dumb and why not. A while ago, I bought an Orange Pi, and I am unable to install any of the OSes for it on my SD card. Apparently, it requires a micro SD to USB adapter to be partitioned properly, and I don't have one that works (I used the card reader in my laptop and one of those 12 in 1 USB ones).

The Orange Pi PC does have a micro USB port, and you CAN power it from it BUT you have to bridge these two pins on it. Sorry about the shitty picture, it's the two pins on this chip that are closest to the edge of the board.

As for control, if you're using it as a media box and don't need to type a lot of text or anything, you could screencast to your phone.

Honestly, I'd rather not have to do any physical modifications to the board itself beyond sticking a heatsink on it.

Can the gpio power a couple of fans?
5v should be enough, but I'm thinking of building an enclosure for it with either one fan on top, or 2 in push/pull on the sides.

Can I power a fan or 2 from the gpio While powering the opi pc from gpio too?

How's performance? What OS are you using? 1.6ghz?

I don't know, I haven't hooked anything up to it.

You don't really need fans, just put a generous amount of air holes in the enclosure.

>Can I power a fan or 2 from the gpio While powering the opi pc from gpio too?
Powering it over GPIO is tricky because you bypass the safety fuse. I don't know.

>How's performance? What OS are you using? 1.6ghz?
It's fine, but browsers take like 10 seconds to open up. I'm running Ubuntu MATE with MATE switched out for XFCE. The CPU is the Allwinner H3, which is an ARM-cortex A7, but I don't know the speed.

This store has been up for years, no feedback on the shoes, and obviously they aren't branded. People receive unbranded shoes, or is the seller working a loophole to deliver actual replicas?

I understand but then the red mi note 2 is much better value for this use.

The processor is the same as the normal note 3 and its CLOCKED HIGHER.

The screen, camera and 2gb of ram of the red mi 2 are all fine for general usage that you are talking about.

What I'm saying is that there's no point of getting a normal red mi 3. Your literally paying 80-100 dollars more for a metal case and another gb of ram.

If you want a premium phone with good specs for unbeatable value you get red mi 3 pro.

For your usage the red mi 2 is perfect.
>>
>>53944736
I have placed over 2000 order on Aliexpress about 5% of the sellers will tell you the tracking number with a message and wait until the last day of "processing time" to put the number on the system, that way they get 2-6 extra days of protection for them selves against undelivered order.

That tracking needs a special website, ask him for the website, you will only get tracking information while the package is in china, once it leave you get no more updates, but you know shit is actually on the way to your home, but it's slower than international tracked packages, normally 2 to 3 more weeks of shipping time.

They shop out the brand of the factory takes photos of shoes with no logos for resellers, but you get the goods with logos, you can ask sellers if you have doubts, but most of the time you will get products with logos, but some sellers have both in stock with or without logos, if you want logos make sure to ask first.

a 3060 mAh battery will be good enough and certainly last you a day. Note that the samsung s7 has a 3000 mAh battery and has much more power demanding screen and processor.

I believe that the snapdragon offers better battery life because it uses two quad core processors, with one being clocked and 1.2 ghz and the other 1.8. This means that in less demanding tasks it uses the 1.2 ghz processor to conserve battery.

But it does take 2 hrs to charge.

>>
>>53944889
I dont know for sure but it would be a similar situation to how low voltage intel processors and how they know when to use hyper boost to become more energy efficient.

Its got to with how many calculations per second processes are demanding of the cpu and when it reaches a certain amount it switches over to the 1.8 ghz.

You make a good point but in the end the snapdragon offers better processing power and benchmarks and the battery life should be similar for both processors.

If you are the poster that asked which one to get, just pay 20 dollars more for the pro. You'll never regret getting more power.

The real adventages of high end smarphones are:

Camera
Fast as fuck charging

And that's it.

Name something than the Redmi Note 2 Pro can't do on the same level than a Galaxy S7 Edge.

You answer would be, pictures, video, and fast charging, maybe connectivity(NFC, more LTE bands, more WiFi range)

So goes the $600 extra dollars are really worth it for just nice pics, videos and quick charging? I don't think so.

2GB of RAM
5.5" 720p screen (the best screen on this price range by a huge margin, shit is nice)
4100mAh battery, real 4100mAh, if you get it you will know for the fucking size and weight it's not fake, but also I have already measured it with an amp meter.
Android 5.1
8MP camera, the pics are okay, and the flash is good enough

Just check the bands at willmyphonework with your carrier.

I don't see any problem with the camera front or back. Better than every smartphone I've used. I rarely use the camera though.
