Try using google adb drivers and flashing via adb console, it's what I did with my Mi4c, worked flawlessly. It should work as long as you see the phone under adb devices

Get the MiFlash 2015.10.28.0, it should include ADB when you install it with your phone connected or not I don't remember. Restart phone in factory recovery by Power+VolUp, enter Download, plug it into PC and see if MiFlash recognizes it. Load that folder with the 5-6 files in it, and "Flash all" or "Flash all except data and storage".
