>his phone has carrier branding stamped on it

Why didn't you buy it unlocked? Do you like not actually owning your phone?
>>
Because prepaid phones cost less and give you access to cheaper plans.

For example I only paid $80 for my Warp Elite and only pay $55/month to boost mobile for unlimited lte (use ~50GB/month).

So would I. Hence why I bought the phone up front outside of a contract.
>b-but I can use my phone on any carrier
So can I. It was cheaper to buy a carrier locked phone and pay for the unlock code than it would be to buy the factory unlocked model. Only difference is the AT&T logo on the front which I could not give less of a shit about.

>boost mobile
Why are people talking about this lately? I always thought it was a general consensus that Boost Mobile sucked ass. The radio ads that they run are one long disclaimer, which say that your speeds drop to 2G after a certain cap.
>>
>>53889216
>Why are people talking about this lately? I always thought it was a general consensus that Boost Mobile sucked ass.
Because they currently offer the cheapest high speed unlimited lte plan + cheap 2GB RAM android phones. Their networks have also improved. I don't have them but a family member of mine does and regularly uses 60gb+ of data each month, not sure about lte speeds though if they're using that much fucking data is has to be okay.

>The radio ads that they run are one long disclaimer, which say that your speeds drop to 2G after a certain cap.
Depends on the plan but their new $55/month plan will give you legit unlimited high speed data with 8GB for hotspot.

The catch is they have a soft data capt (just like t-mobile) of around 30GB. Once you use more data than this they will slow your lte to 2-4 Mbps when the network is under heavy load but this doesn't happen often (just like on t-mobile).

Buy 2 for full price, keep a line open for 2 months until you get the rebate, pay off the phones and cancel the service.
>>
>>53890095
doesn't cancelling service usually mean paying an early termination fee?
>>
>>53890095
> If you cancel wireless service remaining balance at full price becomes due.

is your mommy going to pay that for you?
>>
>>53890095
I'd rather get a prepaid than have to jump through this many hoops. Boost mobile has the 32GB Samsung Galaxy S7 for $650 btw. You're also forgetting about the early termination fee you massive retard.
>>
>>53889063
You're locked into a contract. You are paying the same, if not more for the phone. I can't believe there are kids on this board who still think unlocked phones aren't a better deal. I thought this meme died when the OnePlus One came out and we had a hundred threads about why a $300 phone was actually really cheap.
>>
>>53890137
>>53890207
There is no early termination fee. There are no contracts with T-Mobile.

>>53890201
No. You pay for service and the device payment plan for the phone. They will send you a $650 Visa prepaid card after 2 months. You then pay off the rest of the balance left on the phone, which would be around $1200 for both. You then cancel the service. You now have 2 unlocked Galaxy S7s for $800, if you include the cost of service for the two months.
>>
>>53890250
The OnePlus One is cheap chink shit that doesn't even have an SD card slot, NFC, or a fingerprint reader.
>>
>>53890271

>no SD card slot or fingerprint reader

>NFC
it does have NFC...
>>
>>53890260
They're not actually giving you a phone for free, you end up paying for it one way or another.

>Free device offer requires 24-mo finance agreements;

you're going to be paying either the full cost of both phones and/or service for two years. you aren't going to be able to game the system, they've probably already thought of people like you trying to abuse this offer. You'll probably end up with messed up credit and blacklisted phones.
>>
>>53890323
You are paying the full cost of both phones, but you are also getting a $650 prepaid gift card back. How is this hard for you to understand?
>>
>>53890336

But go ahead, I'm sure their lawyers are smarter than you.

well enjoy your locked down touchjizz phones, if T-Mobile will even carrier unlock them for you after you betray them. I bet they'll just blacklist them as stolen if you don't pay for the gift card and the full contract price, and if you don't pay they will damage your credit.

>>53890406
What part of "Free device offer requires 24-mo finance agreements;" do you not understand? Or is "If you cancel wireless service remaining balance at full price becomes due" ambiguous to you?

>>53890387
S7 is hugely overrated, touchwiz is still disgusting. Would not use even if it was given to me, I'd sell it to some sucker like you who believes in the meme that touchwiz is "much improved". They said that last time around and the S6/Edge/+ all have shitty multitasking because of all the bloat and background apps. Even a Nexus 4 can multitask better than an S6, not to mention the disgusting aesthetics you'll be dealing with every single day you use the phone.

>>
>>53890952

It's been illegal to lock phones in America since like 2013.
>>
>>53888438
Some phones aren't even sold unlocked in the US. And importing a phone from Europe is not a good idea - the radio won't have the right bands to work with US carriers.
>>
>>53888719
Not true. If your phone is unlocked and supports CDMA, you can totally use it with Boost. I've registered an unlocked iPhone 6s with them with no issues.
>>
>>53891145
The problem is your phone must support at least LTE band 25 which not all unlocked phones do. In addition your phone must have support for LTE bands 25, 26, and 41 to give you access to sprint's Enhanced LTE network which very few unlocked phones have support for.

Overall it's just better to get a boost mobile android/iPhone and not have to worry about lte band incompatibilities.
