These mint NPKC caps I got in today are delicious. They also have this really nice chalky sort of texture.

Unfortunately they don't agree with my costar stab boards. Apparently people have to sand down thicker PBT sets because sometimes the fronts rub against the stabilizers. Another reason cherry stabs are superior~

Is massdrop the only place to look for simple design beginner friendly meme keyboards in ricey colors? I've looked through the paste bin and the logical increments guide and haven't been convinced by any of them.

There's plenty of guides, or if you don't want to do that there are also plenty of agents you could use.

I have a few Chinese friends so if I can't figure something out I can pick their brains for it. There is tons of cool stuff on there that I want to get as well. Pic related. Mostly keyboard, car or water cooling stuff.
>>
>>53762300

Honestly, using the Fn layer on a HHKB is comfier than the equivalent TKL for general browsing and typing.

For this specific reason I want to build a special snowflake TKL board that acts like a HHKB normally, and has regular TKL layer for gaymen etc.
>>
Jack's Planck and Preonic are back up on Massdrop for anyone who's interested in ortholinear (grid) keyboards. I'm strongly considering joining the drop for one, especially as he's including Zealios' as a switch option...

Anyone here using an ortholinear keyboard?
>>
>>53756055

It depends.

If you have a specific keyset in mind, do it.

If not, go ahead and get it with their caps. They are nothing special, just basic stock caps (that you can get anime faces printed on) but way better than the torture of having a keyboard and no caps.
>>
>>53763102
>Anyone here using an ortholinear keyboard?

Yes.

Using an ergodox.

Actually wasnt hard to get used too. I do feel a little slower typing on it, but my speed is more consistent.

I had trouble getting used to the right hand of it though. It was very difficult for some reason.

PBT really isn't made to handle double-shot legends. It's hard to mold small details in it so it comes out a bit wonky even with the right equipment to handle the tougher plastic.
So you're left with either printed (which will wear/get dirty), dye-subs (can only make legends darker than the plastic) or blanks.

There are several types of ABS and the one GMK uses isn't the cheap stuff that gets shiny after maybe a year or two.
I'd also argue that thickness is the defining quality of good keycaps. It cannot be faked and has a more pronounced impact on feeling, sound and durability.

I'm kinda new to mechanical since I only own one, but I was wondering one thing.

As a poorfag, I always wondered what makes someone to get another one keyboard when the previous one is not broken, or malfunctioning. Why people get more keyboards?
>>
>>53765603

The same reasons people have different types of shoes (running, boots, casual) apply both to keyboard switches and layouts.

Some of us are into the engineering and collectibility, I'm really into all of the above.

Not bad, just put some good encryption on it. Was thinking about that too, but kinda as a second thought. Too busy with researching about matias QC vs clears/zealios... Payday is coming, so in a couple of days will pick a hundred of them, and send to falbatech, - fuck one week of soldering.

Dunno about you but as far as one-handed typing, my left is leagues ahead of my right, so that sounds normal to me. I'm right-handed, but I have heard it's fairly normal to use the left more in typing.

mechanical keyboard can be programmable
TrackPoint > trackpad
>>
>>53767008
This.
It probably has to do with the fact that you use your mouse with right hand and left hand on keyboard while browsing the webz or gayming.
>>
>>53765603
wanting to try out a different size or switch without selling the old one basically sums up my experience

went from TKL w/ blues to 60% with greens
>>
>>53766554
I know several people who bought a second mech for work. They enjoy it since that's where they actually do most of their typing.
>>
>>53766986
Yeah, but TKL to 60% gives you options for programmability and neat layered stuff like easier to reach home/end. 40% looks like it shakes stuff up making you go up and down layers a bunch. I'm wondering if I'm missing something here for why they're so appealing.
>>
>>53767044
Do you happen to know what switches they use? I'm thinking clears, but I've never really tried typing on a non-clicky switch.
>>
>>53767031
I think my habit was more about arrow keys than mouse, but same concept. I play an MMORPG where asd were the main action keys and arrow keys were movement.

>>53767061
One of them uses clears (I believe he prefers clicky but didn't want to be a nuisance), the other is a normie faggot pleb who uses browns at work and at home because he doesn't into mechanical keyboards (like anyone who choose browns)

Secondly, or really instead of, do you know whether I could fix my model m? I spilled water on it like a degenerate and now certain keys don't work. I'd really like to fix it if possible, I love the keyboard. Anyone know how to do it on my own or where to send it? Only certain keys work and don't work, I'm still using it now, I'd just like the full functionality back
>>
>>53767119
>100%, also if you can find one with ctrl and caps lock switched already that'd be great, otherwise I'll remap
This is an impossible request. As far as I know, the only keyboard with built-in caps/ctrl switch is the HHKB which doesn't come larger than 60%.
Also, you can't just remap a 100% keyboard to switch the keys - not without physically rewiring shit yourself.
>>
>>53767219
>Also, you can't just remap a 100% keyboard to switch the keys - not without physically rewiring shit yourself.
You can do it at the OS layer.
